This house sits on a beautiful lake with gorgeous views from the living room and upstairs. Even though it was raining all day Saturday of our weekend away, we enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the kitchen and comfy couch. It was great to bring our dog, too - he had a great time.

My friends and I went to this beautiful getaway for our friends wedding. It was a great location, easy to drive to, and so many amenities available for you. Our only complaint was that we felt the house could have used a cleaning and a change of sheets the day before to ensure its cleanliness. We had some sheets that appeared stained and dusty with, perhaps, pet dander. Additionally, thw floors were very dusty/dirty. Our socks were covered. Beautiful, welcoming, comfortable, but dusty.

The house is so comfortable and clean! Kitchen supplies have been updated since last year. It has everything you need to feel at home. One thing you can never control is the weather and we were not able to have too much outdoor time. We’re hoping for more sun next year!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location right on the lake was amazing. The host provided kayaks, floaties, and a paddleboard. The interior was pretty cozy. The view from the 1st floor was amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Labor Day Weekend at this property. It had plenty of room for the five of us, was well appointed and the location on the pond was awesome! As someone who doesn't like heat & humidity, I was concerned with the lack of air conditioning. But, the combination of a breeze coming off the water and through the windows, along with the celling fans and cool nights made the house comfortable. We enjoyed using the kayaks and float tubes, as well fishing off of the dock. The fire pit made for enjoyable nights by the water. Heidi was a wonderful host and gave us good recommendations for birthday dinner reservations (Krista's in Cornish).

My adult children and I all came to gather at this wonderful place for a 2nd time and we couldn’t be more pleased. We traveled from 5 different states and were able to enjoy the water, kayaks, paddle board, fires every night, visits with friends, time together and time for rest and reading. So good to meet you, Heidi. We appreciate all you do!

The location, neighborhood, and pond were beautiful. We enjoyed all of the water activities like fishing, paddleboarding, swimming, etc.and appreciated the rowboat. The house was not as clean as we would have liked. The amount of dust and cobwebs in most rooms was excessive. Not sure if it was an oversight by the cleaners but vacuuming corners, baseboards and curtains is greatly needed! The kitchen could use a little updating by providing a few more pots and pans that guests could use. The one and only large pot was so badly burnt, we couldn't use it. The food items in the cabinets expired years ago and probably should have been discarded some time ago. Overall, a comfortable stay and we did enjoy our time there.

My family lived in Shapleigh for some years. Since moving away, I return often to visit those who are still in the area. I've stayed at Granny Kent off and on since 1993. The pond has remained stable, clean, and family friendly. This particular property is ideally set on a small piece of sandy bottomed beach with a shallow entry point. The toys provided (boats, floats, etc.) were all usable and suited to several levels of expertise. The property owner was friendly and welcoming. There were several rainy days, but we had fun and would come back.

The property was amazing.... the house was a great size to accommodate our family ... views are incredible. The outside space iz where we spent a our time.. It did not disappoint, yard space to play, so many choices in boats and floats( we used them all). We also enjoyed fishing off the dock and from boats catching so many fish including 2.6 lb Bass! The hosts were very responsive as well. We've spent the past few years fostering with virtually no vacations.. this place was a perfect reprieve and gave us much needed fun and relaxation.

We had such a fabulous time at this rental. Highly suggest. Must come back some time. :)

I rented the house with a group of moms for a weekend. The house was perfect. It was very clean and organized. It had everything we needed. The open kitchen/living room area gave us enough room to congregate inside. We didn’t even turn on the TV because we spent our days outside in the beautiful weather. The gas grill and fire pit were great. Heidi was very responsive with messages. We plan to rent it again next year. Thank you.

This was our third stay at this Granny Kent cottage. The house is warm and cozy with everything needed to be comfortable and entertained. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing and exploring in the pedal boat. A great place to stay!

Great property. The water is clean and access from shore is easy. Spent days floating, kayaking and paddleboarding around the lake. Spent early morning sipping coffee and sitting on dock watching sun come up. Loons seem to like that area in the morning. Spent evening sitting around fire pit near the water's edge. Cottage was well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. No complaints from anyone in group. Neighbors were very friendly. We would definitely consider renting this cottage again. Thanks Mills Family

We had so much fun! The fire pit was great and the neighbors were friendly. We paddled across the lake in the kayaks. and fished off the docks. The house was well stocked and very comfortable. I'd do it again in a second!

It was very quiet and relaxing at the house. There aren't a lot of boats on the pond and swimming was nice. It is remote and far from the bigger attractions and things to do. If you are looking for peace and quiet to unwind, this is the place for you.

How much fun was that month long stay at Granny Kent Cottage!!!!???? Our families and friends enjoyed every minute. Swimming kayaking paddle board peddle boat walking art projects grilling…was just grand. Comfortable beds, beautiful view, amazing water. We loved it. Wish we could return fir the whole summer. Upon arriving at the house, we noticed how clean everything was. There was plenty of room for us and all of our stuff! Beds were very comfortable. The lake is very clean. We had a great time on the kayaks and the paddle board. The neighbors are close by but they are all very friendly. Heidi is a great host and very accessible. She answered us by text pretty much immediately when we had questions. We usually go to different places every year for our girls weekend, but this may just be our go to place from now on.

We loved our stay here. Great waterfront property. About 20 minute drive to the closest large grocery store in case you forget something. Our entire family & their families definitely want us to book every year!

Very copy place. Nicely decorated. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook. Clean and well taken care of. Great place for our grandchildren aged 9, 7 and 2. Everything you needed to be on the water.

This couldn't have been a more amazing vacation for my family! My elderly parents were convinced they may never get back up to Maine (where they grew up and we were born and raised) again, but this amazing place became available and we couldn't pass it up. So I drove them up from Florida and other family members met us there for the most perfect week ever. My kids are in their 20's and loved hanging out on the dock at all hours of the day, using the many kayaks, floats, or paddleboard and just hanging out by the far every night star-gazing. My parents, who are in their 80's, found it easy to get around the property with the convenience of a first floor master. And extended family joined us for a day to create a family reunion I'd been trying to plan for over 3 years. The basement walk-out and bathroom made this super easy to pull off, without much foot traffic in the house. Additionally, a cousin owns a place on the pond and I was able to catch up with her and learn to ride a paddle kayak....loads of fun. Heidi and Marc, I can't say enough about how perfect your place is!! Providing all the sheets and towels was SO helpful, and there were plenty of paper products available with a fully stocked kitchen that lacked for nothing. The grill and picnic area are just perfect, and the adirondack chairs around the fire were so comfortable, even for my 85 year-old dad with sciatica. What more can I say? You made us all very, very happy, and we are hoping we can return again to re-create this amazing experience. Thank you, thank you!!

Heidi and Marc’s home was wonderful. We were nervous our family of seven would not fit but it was better than the pictures were. We were quite comfortable. The neighbors were super nice. There was a store five minutes away for everything we forgot. The location was great for day trips. The water was so nice. The fire pit was perfect. And coffee on the dock every morning was a slice of heaven. We would absolutely stay again.

Great getaway for relaxing on the pond! Mostly quiet, clean, large bedrooms, fully stocked. Enjoyed time with family!
