Everything about this house is perfect! It is a 10-15 minute drive from the airport and close to downtown. There is a beautiful creek directly behind the house, with a walking trail and park. The house itself is so well appointed! The kitchen is well stocked for preparing meals with pots, pans, utensils and seasonings. The bathrooms have plush towels and full sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The living area is large and would be ideal for a family gathering. The dining table is HUGE! They even had cards, puzzles and games. There is a single car attached garage. And best of all, there is a full size washer and dryer. It feels like they anticipated all our needs. John was very responsive and accommodating. I would definitely stay at this property again.

The home was everything and more! The good reviews were spot on. Location is perfect for everything around the Anchorage area. Beds are comfortable and the house was nice and clean upon arrival. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking. A home away from home.

Our stay in Anchorage was nice and we really enjoyed this rental. The open floorplan was great and gave us room to spread out and relax! Thanks for the great rental and we'd consider renting again, if we find out way back to Anchorage.

Nice property. We only had some minor things such as no dishwasher soap and could use a few more towels and washrags. The bed in master was waaaay soft but slept okay. Overall very nice

Very good location, close to downtown yet far enough away it’s not a busy area. The house was perfect for 4 adults. John was helpful and quick to respond to anything we needed. We want to come back again in the summer and we would gladly chose this property again.

This Chester Creek Gem was our "Home Away from Home" over the Christmas Holidays with our family; when we returned to Alaska to spend Christmas with our children and grandchildren. From our first contact with host, John O'Hara, we were impressed by his warmth, responsiveness, availability, gracious and congenial willingness to go over and above to make or stay a very memorable holiday. He even provided and set up a beautifully decorated lovely Christmas Tree before our arrival! This home is warm, sits on a lovely creek, and is beautifully furnished, impeccably clean, and the amenities are thoughtful and detailed from the the sparkling kitchen, to comfortable beds, extra bedding, and blankets. We were able to easily prepare family meals for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Everything we needed was at hand. in the kitchen. The bathrooms are detailed, with thoughtful extra bathroom amenities and great towels!. This property is very conveniently located midway between downtown and mid-town Anchorage, along Chester Creek. Our small grandchildren loved watching the ducks along the creek! We would definitely engage this home again. Thank you John for a very merry and memorable Christmas!! Dennis and Linda Maguire

The best way to describe this property is perfect. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s stunning. The location was wonderful. Super comfy beds, well stocked, beautiful kitchen, and we were so grateful for the laundry facilities! Would definitely recommend, and we’d come stay here again in a heartbeat.

Everything outstanding !! …except live tv news from cnn & msnbc. We would stay again if we travel to ANC.

We had an issue with the blinds falling out of the wall and crashing down, luckily none of us were near when it happened. These things happen as it is an older home. Promptly told host and he had them fixed the next day. Last day host and housekeeper showed up 1 1/2hrs before checkout to interrogate and kick us out early. According to host next people were there early and we needed to get out ASAP to accommodate them... never had issues like this before.

We enjoyed staying at your house. It has everything you need and is close to downtown but in a quiet neighborhood.

Everything was as advertised. Communication with the agent was easy and quick. The house was spacious and quiet and close to everything in town. Summers in Alaska are the best time to travel.

Everything we needed was available. From the garage to a hair dryer to the babbling brook beside the home. John was a great host and really took care of us. I recommend this location to everyone!

The remodel was lovely, John was very good to get back when I had questions. The doors were a bit “sticky”, however our friend place and the next place we stayed were the same, must be an Alaska thing. It was nice for us two couples to have our own bath, nice kitchen with bar, great fireplace, and really nicely decorated. Plenty of towels and washer and dryer available. Super great stay!

I stayed at the Chester Creek with my kids, our first time visit to Alaska. The property is perfectly located for running and biking and walking to downtown. We took some tips from John for hiking and I am glad we did! All our questions were quickly answered and John was most gracious helping us have the best time. We will definitely be back!

This was how a house should look like. Have not stayed in one that matches this quality so far. I wish I knew basic cooking ingredients were not available, probably written somewhere that I missed. I would however return if I could.

We started our Alaska vacation in Anchorage. John’s place is convenient, clean and inviting after our long flight from the Midwest. John was also very accommodating to our request for an air mattress. His timely and personal recommendations for the restaurants are very much appreciated.

The Chester Creek Gem is just that...Best rental we’ve experienced in Anchorage! All of the comforts of home and on the trail system. The beauty of the lagoon or delicious baked goods at Fire Island is a short walk away. Very comfortable beds and full sized washer & dryer. Nicely furnished with a beautiful large kitchen. John the owner is gracious and helpful. We definitely plan on returning!

The Chester Creek Gem is indeed a gem. Very conveniently located yet still very peaceful. A stream runs directly behind the rental and there's a park on the other side. Very nice decor and spotlessly clean. Owner has great communication and is very responsive.

John the owner and manager of the property was wonderful to communicate with and the property was clean and well equipped. Do bring your own bath soap as there was none but there was shampoo and other items. The property is an ideal location with a fabulous walking/biking trail right out the door. It was usually a mile or less to the best dining in Anchorage and no more than 15 minute drives to the mesuems and train depot is only a few minutes away. Can not image a better location. The fireplace was great ambiance, the beds comfortable. We had 5 very great nights in Anchorage. Hope to return someday and would stay at this VRBO.

We were first time VRBO guests. I think that gives you a bit of apprehension out of the gate. But we loved this house. The updates were just as the pictures show. The property owner was great in answering questions or just to visit with. We all enjoyed our stay!

The house was well kept and central to many activities. The creek in the back was nice, as were the walking trails.

This two bedroom is nicely remodeled and its location cant be beat. A creek runs through the backyard ( its cold and shallow) and across the creek is a bike trail and playground. This place is close to downtown Anchorage and midtown Anchorage. I would have stayed forever.
