Driving up to the hotel we knew we were in for a wonderful stay driving through the trees to an idyllic setting. Our room looked out on the gardens and the river to the right and from the roll top copper bath ( though bath is not the right word as it was HUGE)😃you looked out on the that very view…gardens,woods and river…bliss. Staff were so so friendly and attentive in every way. Food was beautiful dinner and breakfast. Just a wonderful experience for us both on our 30th wedding anniversary a stay we will always remember with a smile.

Comfortable beds, lovely rooms and wonderful staff. Dinner was fabulous-from the bar and appetiser through to petit fours, it was a 5 star experience. The host who greeted us each evening was very professional, amiable and attentive.

Nothing-although our stay (4 nights) was a bit long given the dearth of things to do in a cold and very snowy winter in Thurso, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the accommodation.

Good however it was not included in price to my surprise

Location was lovely. Manager and his assistant were lovely.

Beautiful bathroom but the outside of the bath wasn’t clean. Outside edges on shower was unclean. I am aware of the term “shabby chic” but for the price I would of expected more attention to detail.

Ausgezeichnet! Es gibt nichts zu meckern und ich bin sehr picky was Unterkünfte angeht.

Man hätte allenfalls die Preisgestaltung bzgl Frühstück (kostet extra) etwas transparenter gestalten können, aber dieses war dann preislich auch total in Ordnung, also eigentlich will ich auch hierüber nicht meckern. Es war super :)

Having parked, on arrival, in car park in the woods, unloaded our luggage of 2 cases and several additional bags, and presented to reception, we were informed that our accommodation was back in same woods,involving 2 lots of spiral stairs.(No offer of assistance with bags,and in the evening returning to our accommodation in the dark,some of the lighting wasn't working) Had we known what type of accommodation we were allocated , we would either have tried to change it , or cancel altogether.The e-mail booking simply described a standard double room in the hotel. Overall,a disappointing experience,especially taking into account the cost.
