I was disappointed when we pulled up as the 200 feet of sandy beach front did not exist. I discussed with the owner several times and was assured there was a sandy beach there. The area to get to the water is treacherous and was no sand to put a beach chair on.
There were chunks of rodent poison left out in the open that my dog ate. Luckily we were able to induce vomiting and he was okay. But how is this pet and child friendly. Also there was a too away bed that was infested with rodent poop and had to be thrown in the dumpster as I alerted the owner. There are still holes in the screen on the porch that were mentioned in 2023 that I assumed would be fixed by now but we’re not letting all the bugs into the house.

The place is as advertised, quaint, rustic, on a beautiful, private spot on a gorgeous lake. Mountain views and a morning paddle with my daughter brought us an incredible loon escort...complete with their magical call. They followed us for 15 mins or so as we were the only folks on the lake. The camp itself was nice, we had some "first folks" of the summer issues in the cottage, but David was easy to communicate with and very quick to address them. We would visit again!

We had a great time at the cabin, enjoyed waking up to a beautiful view and fires in the evening. Hoping to come back next year

It was so relaxing. The cabin had everything we needed and the market was close for the few things we forgot. The lake was beautiful and canoeing was a lot of fun

I had a wonderful stay at this charming lake house! It has everything you could need for a relaxing vacation - a fire pit, hammock, grill, and a lovely back porch where you can sit and listen to the loons at night. I had some friends and family come for a few days, and the kids absolutely loved swimming and fishing off the dock. My dog was on cloud 9, being outside and jumping in the lake any moment he got. Some of the reviews mention the house needing some work, but I found it to be perfect. It’s everything I expected, would definitely return!

Nice quiet spot directly on the lake. Rustic camp with everything we needed for the stay.

David’s property was the perfect getaway for some last minute summer fun and family relaxation! Although the weather wasn’t great, the rustic, cozy setting was very enjoyable. Card games, relaxing at the fire pit and canoeing between rain showers…my teens loved it! Being dog friendly made it even better! Taz enjoyed being a lake dog for the first time, and playing with neighboring dogs! David was very personable!

At first I thought it wasn't what i thought, then it became our wonderful weekend making memories! The yard was tough with stumps and rocks, but we figured that out, I would go back! Thanks David

This lake house is awesome. The home itself is rustic and without many updates, but who cares with views and outdoor space like this!
The yard, grill, fire pit and dock are fantastic.
The house - kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom - have everything you need. Everything was easy and comfortable for our group.

Not bad but needs a little TLC
It was good but the place does need a little work. Back porch door knob was a bit of a struggle. The Bathroom door needs to be planed, so it'll close properly. Cold water runs a bit slow in bathroom. Shade torn in bath, we hung a towel over it for privacy. We had a little run in with some carpenter ants. The walk down to the dock is a bit tricky for the older and very young, with all the tree roots and rocks. All & all there is a nice sandy bottom and gradual drop off on a quiet section of the lake. The stay wasn't too bad and the owner was receptive but the place could use a little TLC.

Great time.
Ten of my family and two dogs. The camp was charming, like a step back in time which was awesome, with everything in working order and clean. The bunk room was way more comfortable than the pictures give credit for. The enclosed porch is an extension of the house which was needed to accommodate our crew. Pristine spot with sandy bottom swimming area and unbelievable sunsets. Dave was friendly and helpful with any questions we had and helped us out with renting a jet ski. The only thing that could be improved on is the terrain to the water. Lots of tree roots on the land to maneuver. Will definitely rent again when the opportunity arises.
Thanks again Dave.

Rustic Home on Lake Lovell
We enjoyed our weeks stay on beautful and pristing Lake Lovell. The owner David who lives close to property was very responsive to any needs that arose. We lost power the first night due to winds, and he kept us updated and power was restored within 3 hours on a Saturday night!!! We rented a pontoon boat for the week from Parker Boats. Having a boat allowed us to enjoy this beautiful lake at our leisure. Our sons were able to fish from the boat and dock and were very successful. There are restauranits and a village market nearby that has all your amenities. The view of Lake from the porch is great and the sunsets were breath taking! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us, we hope to be able to return in the future. The Flynn Family, Sussex, NJ.

Love Lovell Lake
We came to check out Lovell Lake as a possibility for a place to retire. We absolutely love the lake and the surrounding area! David was a wonderful host- he was very responsive with our requests. The house is very rustic, maybe a bit more rustic than we thought it was going to be (it could use some fresh paint, deep cleaning and repaired screens throughout) My kids (ages 19-26) loved the attic bedroom (they called it the orphanage) and I thought they would hate it!

Ultimate in relaxation
Each morning we woke to the sound of the loons. The lake is pristine and the property was perfect. Relax on the dock or in the front room and watch the sunset. After dark the bats come out on the lake, watch Venus on the horizon and have a contest to see who can find the first star. Take a walk up the road at dusk and enjoy the firefly show. David was a perfect host. The addition of a charcoal bbq along with the gas allowed us to cook for guests. The splash pad and canoes wrapped up a perfect week. Why try another place when this one is perfect.

Lovely get away!
We had such a a great time at this house! This house had something for everyone, my kids loved being outside, my mother loved reading all the antique books, my dad spent all the time on the dock fishing and my husband and I enjoyed the canoe and walks. The cold weather in late May made swimming a bust but we were able to canoe and fish almost every day between the rain fall. David came and set up the heat, made sure we had everything we needed and even provided us with bait to fish. We had a few questions here and there and David was super responsive. The back patio was where we chose to dine and on the rainiest day we had hot chocolate and watched the rain. We loved the quaint feel of it all, would definitely return!

Great rustic lakeside cabin
Upon arrival the setup and views were everything we were hoping for and the trees that outline the private road make it feel that much more beautiful. We kayaked the lake most of the time and our dogs loved having immediate access to the water. We were very happy with the setup and how beautiful the sunsets and sunrises were. There was a downside to having our dogs with us as we had to constantly navigate outings with other unleashed dogs. i wouldn’t choose this location if you do not like dogs and or have a dog who doesn’t care for other dogs. The owner David was friendly, personable, and very responsive. Like other reviewers have said the cabin could use a deep cleaning but it offers everything you really need for a lakeside camp experience. The beds were comfortable and we slept well having a nice lakeside breeze at night. The fireplace inside the cabin is beautiful and burns wood very cleanly which is an extra bonus for those chilly nights. We would stay here again with the consideration that dogs remained leashed and or kept to their property while we are outside with our dogs. My 13 year old senior dog was stressed with multiple dogs running around. We also just seemed to have stayed during a bad week. We had to let the propane company in while they changed out the tanks and did some work. On our third and last night there, we got hit with a storm which left us without power for 3 hrs which meant no showering and going out to eat. We did ask to stay an extra day as we felt we lost out on most of our night but unfortunately the cleaning lady couldn’t change her schedule. Unfortunate circumstances but we still made the best of it.

Beautiful Relaxing Lakefront Property
From the moment we arrived and met David the property owner, we knew it was the perfect spot! David was extremely friendly and down to earth, told us he lived right up the road and if we needed anything just to let him know! The location itself was great right on the lake, a great rustic cabin that slept 8 people easily. All the cooking utensils you needed and a grill right on the lake! As we all left and checked out, we all agreed we would be back again! Thanks David

Little escape
We loved our stay at the cabin! It was exactly what we needed! It had all the essentials but we mainly packed what we needed and I would recommend that. The cabin is isolated and it was perfect for morning walks around the lake! And the porch really made those chilly morning more special! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Super cute lake house
Outstanding views of the trees and lake. We were there in the fall and it was beautiful. Our host David was helpful and attentive. The house met all of our needs and we loved breakfast on the porch in the morning. We traveled with 5 adults and an 8 month old and had no issues. It is without a doubt an older rustic house but it’s peaceful, quite and clean enough. Beds are comfortable house was warm at night. The working fireplace is a great added touch for the cooler fall nights. Bring outdoor chairs for more than 5 people, linens for bed and bathroom and you will have an enjoyable stay.

Great views but Rustin
A little too rustic as mentioned by many. Beautiful views and lake! Just know what you're getting for the price. The attic is not heated. Great to spend time outdoors and on the lake.

Pleasant Family Lake Camp Stay
Overall, our family enjoyed our stay over the Labor Day week end at this lake camp. The kids enjoyed the warm, clear lake water, swimming, playing on the floating mat, fishing, and canoeing. The owner David welcomed us upon arrival, reviewed a few things with us, and was available right away to fix a water problem with the kitchen sink during our stay. He allowed us to set up a tent for our kids to play in beside the house. We liked the fire pit by the water in the evenings, and the fact that the location was at the end of the small bay, which made it quieter than other areas around that lake. That being said, since there were 7 of us, we wished there had been more seating options outside-- by the water, by the fire pit. there was really no seating area by the water other than sitting directly on the small dock, one picnic table that seated 4 by the BBQ by the house, and one Cape Cod chair by the fire pit; we ended us standing up by the fire, and the kids sitting on the ground. We found a couple of folded chairs stored below the house but they were broken. It is indeed a very rustic camp, as other reviewers have mentioned, which has its charm; we loved the porch and the antic furniture in the 2 first-floor bedrooms. However, being a camp also meant bringing our own drinking/cooking water, taking our trash to the local landfill, and because of Covid, bringing bedding for the 6 beds we would use, and towels for everyone, all of which we found out the morning of our arrival. Finally, perhaps the rental property would benefit from a deep top-to-bottom cleaning and decluttering, as there were lots of small loose articles, cardboard boxes, over-stocked kitchen cabinets, even clothing items from previous guests.

Awesome rustic lake cabin
We had a great time at David's cabin, and will definitely come back. The cabin was exactly as billed - rustic - which is exactly what we were looking for. Super charming and cozy and items from probably every decade since it was built (1950s?) in the cabin, which added to its charm. The terrain down to the water is a little rugged, but our tough 2 year old girl handled it like a champ. The older kids loved fishing from the dock, from the canoes, and swimming in the lake. Visiting friends were equally impressed. The views from the back-porch/deck, especially at sunset, were phenomenal. The owner was very friendly and accommodating of our requests, and his recommendation for the nearby Poor People's Pub was spot-on. Definitely recommend!

Very nice cottage on a beautiful lake. The owner was more than accommodating when we had questions during our stay. Next time it will be longer. Thank you!

Quiet Lake front cottage
Great location on quiet back road that wound scenically around the lake. Jogging/dog walks were a bonus. Rustic simplicity. Excellent communication before, during, and upon check out.

Great Lake cabin
We had a wonderful long weekend at Lovell Lake staying in this cabin. The house is rustic and charming and was very comfortable for our group. The host was easy to communicate with and provided everything we needed. The location was gorgeous... waterfront with a dock for swimming, canoes, paddle boards, hammocks, fire pit and wood, and beach chairs all provided. The house is not state of the art or brand new, but if you’re looking for a quaint New England lake cabin it’s perfect!

The quintessential New England Camp
The location makes this property, right on the water nestled in a cove and situated perfectly for the sunset. The back porch has hanging glass panels that can be lifted to make a screened in porch or secured when the evenings get cool. Nice fire pit. The building is a quintessential New England camp, nothing luxury but everything you need (the way I like the camp experience). Very nice, easy going host.

Nice rustic camp on beautiful lake
This is a real NH camp experience. It's not fancy it's not new, it's a 1940s type cabin with a beautiful view on a crystal clear lake. The two downstairs bedrooms are comfortable but the attic room is for kids or for adults who want to remember an old camp experience. Some people will love this place and for some it will be too rustic. We loved it. Camp was fully stocked with bedding. Dishes. Towels. Swim floats everything. Everything was clean and comfortable

Place was a cottage that needed a cleaning. The rooms were small and the eating area was on the porch. Nice lake and location

Great spot with great hospitality
Awesome lake house, awesome host. David was super laid back and let us stay another night at the last minute. He was around enough to accomidate anything we needed, including bringing us a grill, setting up our camp fire and directing us to the closest grocery and liquor store (be prepared to drive a ways though as there is not much within 20 minutes) yet didn’t linger. The house was perfect, 3 bedrooms, big screened in porch with a beautiful view of the lake. Water is right outside your door with a private dock. Only qualm was that we couldn’t get hot water. We never told him though so I’m sure it’s something that he can fix. All in all it was an amazing weekend and if I ever found my way back around that area I would definitely give him a call.
