What a wonderful experience!! Amazing property. Cozy and clean home. We had a great time exploring and fishing (Bass, big Crappie & Sunfish). Enjoyed seeing the wildlife (armadillos every night by the house, deer in the evenings, raccoons at the big lake) Shane was awesome. Fast responses, easy check in/out. Hoping to go back to McAlester again next year and definitely will be staying at The Nest at Cedar Creek. Thank you Shane.!

The first thing I noticed about this property was the amount of deer and other wild life on the property. This little slice of heaven is very peaceful with alot to see in nature and is not far from the lake. We cooked in the ready kitchen and played a couple games from the cabinet by the washer and dryer. There is also horseshoes outside and we enjoyed the cornhole setup. We will definately recommend this awesome place and the price was just right!

This was an amazing home. The property is probably one of the most beautiful we have stayed at. The kids managed to catch 6-8 small fish and they thought they had climbed Mt Everest. We also did a tiny bit of kayaking and once again, it was another hit. The kids saw 4 different Armadillos roaming the property and I believe we saw a beaver. The humming birds came so close to us on the porch that my Granddad held out his finger hoping one might land on his hand but it never did. The home is well kept and well stocked. If you want a home to get away from it all, that’s the place.

From the time we got there to the time we left we had a great stay. The open fields, ponds with fish, kayaks, and rockers were perfect for our grandkids to run and play. Location was perfect because our family was not far and we could all visit and catch up with each other. I am sure we will be back on our next Oklahoma family visit.

We miss living in the county since we moved to KC. The nest is so private. The driveway is lined with trees. Both ponds are pretty and easy to fish. The area was well mowed allowing us to fish and walk around the property. The home was well stocked , very clean and comfortable. Will be back!

This was our second stay at the Nest. We love this place. So peaceful and a great getaway. We hope to be back soon!

We had an amazing time. The house is great and the pond is amazing. Girl's weekend of crafting, fishing and kayaking. We will definitely be back!

Great secluded getaway. We went for the private fishing and it did not disappoint. We received great hits on both live worms and artificial lures. Along with the bass we caught, we caught some of the biggest perch I have seen in a long time. And we caught more perch than we could count!

The pictures are beautiful, but they're an understatement of the real experience. A beautiful place of peace! Compared to all the places I stayed in Oklahoma, this one by far is my favorite.

I can't explain how amazing this place is! You definitely should experience it, if given the opportunity. The land is beautiful, the house is so comfortable, and there's absolutely nothing we can complain about. The property owner is so kind and accommodating. We'll be booking again soon!

This place was exactly what we wanted. It was not too far from home and was full of the peace and quiet we were hoping for. The ponds were amazing and we all had a blast catching fish in both. The boys kayaked for hours. Overall, it was one of the best trips so far.

Nice rural, isolated, well kept property with active ponds. Owner cut paths throughout property providing nice riding areas for small kids on ATVs. Owner is responsive to any questions during your stay. Recommended for a simple isolated getaway in the country.

Have stayed here twice, once with friends and again with family. The property is second to none in terms of privacy and space to do so many outdoor activities without even leaving the property. Check in and out is easy peasy. Look forward to more trips here in the future.

This place is EXACTLY what we were looking for. The property is amazing and our 4 young children were outside from sun up to sun down. There was so much to keep them busy. We didn’t want to leave and go back to our suburban living. We stayed over Christmas and it was a perfect spot to disconnect and just enjoy family time. The home is clean and well equipped. We were able to have a fire every day and it housed our family of 6 perfectly. Would highly recommend this place if you are looking to disconnect and enjoy some quiet time. We also enjoyed the visiting deer that stopped by daily.

Peaceful, scenic setting

My only complaint about this property is that the house isn’t bigger so I can bring all my friends with us next time :). We loved our stay. The land is amazing. The house was clean and well maintained. We’re already planning our next stay!

The house & property were just as described in the listing, if not better! It was so beautiful and peaceful and the perfect spot for a quiet weekend away! We will definitely be staying again in the future.

My husband and I enjoyed our 3 days at this extremely peaceful property. The property manager was very informative and provided more than enough information and guidance for our stay. My husband enjoyed fishing on the property and we both loved the much needed peace and beauty of nature. I spent a majority of my time reading on the porch and watching the hummingbirds. The property was clean, well equipped and just as described.

This property is so much more than advertised! It is in a very private and serene setting, with deer, wild pigs, hummingbirds, on-property fishing, and more. The house is spacious with a fully equipped kitchen; there are lots of games, a fire pit, kayaks, and a jon boat, life vests, a charcoal grill---so many things right at your fingertips. Seriously, the only thing you need to bring is food and clothes and you would be set. The cottage is comfortable and you feel at home easily. We were looking for a stress-free getaway and this knocked it out of the park. AT&T and Verizon cell coverage worked if you stood in one specific spot and didn’t move, so do not expect to be connected. Wireless internet is available but slow, because you’re in a rural area as noted. All great things! The fishing is better in a canoe---we lost count of how many bass we caught. And the hummingbirds. Wow. Fill the hummingbird feeders when you arrive and leave. We were mesmerized and watched the hummingbirds for hours, counting at least a dozen at one point. We could not have been happier with this property. We cannot say enough great things about this place. You have set the bar for VRBO. It will be extremely hard to find another place this amazing. What an amazing property, tucked away in the hills. The property was immaculate. The kids never ran out of things to do. The owner provided complete details, of amenities and property. We checked out feeling revived, and refreshed! We'll definitely, be booking this specific property again!

Great time and good memories. Our diverse ages range from 10-80 and there was plenty to enjoy for all ages. We kayaked, fished, played corn hole, watched movies and played board games at the big family table. Accommodations were above expectations and have recommended this place to at least 15 others.

What a beautiful property!!! The cabin is too cute!!! Very clean, roomy and comfy!!! It has everything you need, including fish in the ponds!!! We will be back! It was lovely and needed!
