We really enjoyed Cool Breeze. Thanks to homeowners for providing a comfortable place for our vacation.

Have been coming for close to 30 years, and this was the first time we came and the place was not cleaned prior to our arrival, so that was unfortunate, but the overall house and location was great!

We had a fabulous time! Upon arrival, we came in to a sparkling clean house. The kitchen’s very well stocked and the bathrooms were spotless. We spent hours on the dock (caught a lot of catfish) and cooked at home every night. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The neighborhood was awesome and walkable; lots of deer! We loved it so much, we’re already booked for next year. As with other reviewers, the stairs are a little daunting but there are handrails. Can’t wait to go back!

We really enjoyed our relaxing stay at this lake house (lake is very busy). We enjoyed swimming in the lake, kayaking, and the endless beautiful views! Watch out though because the spiders there build endless webs everywhere! Our only issue we had were with the horrible mattresses. An entire week of little sleep on a bad mattress is no fun. Also, if you are wanting to wash a load of landry go to the laundry mat. Don't use the washer/ dryer combo there unless you want to spend ALL day washing and drying 5 towels. Overall, we would recommend this house

We loved staying at Cool Breeze! The fire pit was fun, especially being right beside the lake. The dock and dock chairs were awesome. And this may be a small thing for some, but we LOVE the dock ladder - it had great steps and was angled a little to make it easier to climb. The downstairs table was perfect for a jigsaw puzzle. We searched SML house rentals for few stairs to the lake - and Cool Breeze was the perfect fit. The house is very close to the water, with only a slight grade. We had the best week!! Thank you for a great lake vacation! We look forward to renting Cool Breeze again!!

Enjoyed the stay and access to lake. Upstairs was nice. Lower level had musky smell which I believe came from old furniture. Only issue with main level is need shower bars installed in shower. Still enjoyed stay.

although the lake was the busiest lake I have ever seen !! the property was roomy and very nice... it had a lot to offer to accommodate us and keep us busy.. including relaxing on the deck and dock ..

Our family had a great time at this lakehouse property! The house was clean and had everything our family needed for a relaxing and fun week at the lake. The ocation on the lake with the dock was fantastic and the fire pit and picnic table were nice for outdoor eating and watching the sunset. The use of their kayaks was a great plus too. We were also able to rent a motor boat from a company not terribly far away and were able to keep it tied up on the dock. We had one issue with the kayak and an oar blowing off the dock during a very windy night, so I recommend to future visitors that they learn from our mistake and make sure to secure the Kayaks each night. We were able to recover the Kayak and the missing oar the management company was very understanding about and was able to replace for the owner using the insurance that came with the rental. I would also recommend that you bring extra trash bags, toilet paper, paper towel and tissues if staying more than 1 or 2 nights. While these items are supplied by the property, it is only the first bag, a single roll of paper towel and a couple toilet paper rolls. Linens and towels are also the responsibility of the renter, which seems to be the standard practice for nearly all the properties in the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this property and would happily stay there again if we are to return to SML.

The home was clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The neighborhood was quiet.

We really enjoyed our peaceful stay at this cute cottage! Especially loved the kayaks! Deer galore and a neighborhood heron were cool to see often during our stay. Loved it all! The only negative is the fact that you have to take your own trash to the dump when you leave but it was only 3 miles away. Would definitely come back!!

Lake access was very manageable, relatively flat. Boat dock was superb. Master bed needs replacing we slept in divots. Other beds were comfortable per our other guests. Taking garbage to nearby facility was an inconvenience, especially the last day when our car was packed full to leave. House was roomy and comfortable. New bathrooms were beautiful but could use more shelves in lower level bathroom. The upstairs kitchen as odd but we managed. Washer/dryer combo was useful. Extra fans throughout the house came in handy to maintain cooler temps, especially in master bedroom. Great outdoor space and decks. Lots of deer around to entertain us. TV access and WIFI were very good.

This property was just the right size for the 3 ladies. However, we found the stairs a bit challenging. Unfortunately, we missed that this home is on the main channel, not a quiet cove. Because it was a very busy weekend, we found it to be very noisy and too rough to take out the kayaks as planned. We enjoyed spending time on the dock and the back decks.

This is the cutest place and the dock is perfect!!! We had a blast. Swam a lot!!!The only thing was the dust and some cobwebs. The ceiling was full of dust and cobwebs. Some the lamps has them also and the corners on the walls. We would definitely stay here again though. Kitchen and bathrooms redone and beautiful. Love the porches and the kayaks and corn hole games. Best vacation EVER:)

We had 4-5 adults staying at this property. The house, decks, fire pit, and especially the docking unit out on the water were wonderful. Unfortunately, we had an issue with the washer-dryer combo unit and could not launder all week. We counted on this with light packing, and having to bring our own towels and sheets. The problem was not resolved during our stay at all.

We enjoyed our stay. Great access to the water. Be prepared for the stairs. The kitchen is on the second floor.

We loved the views of the lake from the dock and from the house! Beautiful sunsets! We loved the proximity to the State Park, and enjoyed a visit to a nearby winery, and to mini-golf and restaurants (happy to find a couple of nearby places with curbside take-out). The house is clean and comfortable, with decor that adds a little personality! We would definitely stay here again - maybe when the water is warmer!! We enjoyed the kayaks and the fire pit and the grill! Everything was wonderful!

The house is great, not too big, not too small - just perfect size. The rooms are decorated nicely and all the necessary items are there.There are utensils, pots, and pans, kayak, paddles, safety jackets, grilling stuff, gas grill, charcoal grill outside by the lake. Amazing set up with the firepit. Everything works and usable. The layout of the room is a bit unconventional but that will not stop us from comping back! The main level has a living room with a TV, dining room, two bedrooms, and one full bathroom. Great wall to all patio doors provide amazing lake view and access to the lower deck. The second floor is where we spent most of the time. It has a nice kitchen, dining area, and another living room with VM. Again, wall to wall patio door with an amazing view of the lake, and the dock! All windows and doors work great and there are a lot of them if you need more light or there are built-in blind to provide privacy. The kitchen is very well stocked, everything you need. The refrigerator is big and working like a champ. There is a combo washer/dryer that also workes well. The kitchen has Keuring and conventional coffee machines. The stove and microwave are modern and fully-functional. The second-level deck has nice chairs and provides a beautiful view! The neighbor house to the right is also on VRBO and tenants change a few times while we were there. No noise, great people that did not bother anyone and it is enough distance to between the houses. All other houses around are occupied by owners - a very quiet and upscale place. The dock has two clean, working kayaks - we used them and enjoyed the ride around the cove at the dawn. I also took a swim (when I flipped from the Kayak out of my own clumsiness lol) but the water was clean and the dock has a small ladder to the water. Water was warm in mid-October.The house is not positioned inside of the cove so you will hear boats and kayakers pass by. Could be a bit noisy at times when there are a lot of speed boats but not too crazy. Also, the doors and the windows at the house provide very good sound isolation. The team that I had to communicate with was simply amazing. You get responses within a few minutes, phone calls were picked up and returned. Great people and provide all the info you need!

This property had everything we needed for a relaxing stay at Smith Mountain Lake. Access to the water was easy. My children are older so I didn't have to be as concerned about the boating traffic, which overall was not bad. Easy in and out to the grocery store when needed too.

This house was absolutely perfect for our family weekend at the lake. Super cozy and we felt right at home. Love the location so you can see all the action on the lake. Hope to go back again soon!

A lovely break at a wonderful property. A little strange that the kitchen is upstairs?

Clean, beautiful views! Grateful for flat yard. Nice fire pit. Indoor steps a little steep for me would concern me with kids. Loved dock!

My family and I had a great week at Cool Breeze Cottage. House was very clean and well stocked. Great views of the lake from the house. We rented a pontoon boat and jet skis from a local marina. Restaurants and the supermarket were close by. We also rented sheets and towels from a local company recommended by the rental agency. The best part is the lake. The water was warm and clean and very little traffic during the week. We spent a lot of time floating and watching the amazing sunsets. Definitely will be back.

Cool Breeze Cottage is a wonderful place to enjoy everything about Smith Mountain Lake. Relaxing, beautiful with spectacular view of sunsets. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again.

The light in the refrigerator did not work, someone came by and checked it but it continued to short out the entire week. She promised she would bring me my check-in gift, it was not there when we arrived. Never came back. We had to request the grass be moved. They came following day. Would have been nice to have done for our family on Sunday as we played games outside. A little disappointing this time. Had to clean decks and chairs. The place itself was nice, just a few things should have been better for the cost! Kay Wright 540-33-4815 We have rented several times .

My wife and I, our son and daughter, and their spouses spent a comfortable, memorable, and wonderful week here, and had no issues whatsoever. We loved it! The only concern I would have to mention is the water traffic on the lake during peak times and on the weekends can get a little busy and annoying. That is no fault of the property owners nor the property management at all. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone and would love to come back and stay here again soon.

Our family had such a nice time and enjoyed this beautiful property. It is very cozy with all the comforts of home with a gorgeous view. The convection oven and the washer/dryer combo were a bit challenging to use if you are not used to them. We definitely plan to stay there again!!

House is well taken care of. Sunrise and Sunset on the dock was awesome! Check in and out was easy. We will definitely be back!
