Plentynof rooms and the proximity of the beach made this a perfect place. And the cherry on top was the Foosball table and the hot tub. Awesome 👍

We had an amazing stay at this location. The house was large enough to accommodate all 10 of us and our dog. We felt right at home. The kitchen was stocked better than any other rental home I have ever been in. The AC worked really well which is a huge plus because normally beach ones have issues. I could not have asked for a better home.

This was a very comfortable beach house that fit our family perfectly. It was large enough to fit everyone with enough deck space to enjoy the views and hear the ocean. It was in close proximity to the beach and a Harris Teeter was a short walk or drive away. Just down the road was shopping and restaurants that were very satisfying. I would recommend the “Dog House” for your stay.

Welcoming home steps from the boardwalk to the beach. Plenty of room for family and friends. Awesome space on the 3rd floor for kids to hang out, watch tv, puzzle or craft. Kitchen well equipped for meals. Lots of deck space on 2 floors with swing and hot tub. The guarded beach is beautiful. Greg the owner is responsive, friendly and helpful. Can't wait to visit again :)

this is a great house for a large groutp. Five bathrooms and a large kitchen. Great room is also good sized and thelarge game room at the top of the house isveryuseful..

While the weather was less than ideal, we had a great time playing, eating, and hanging out at The Doghouse.

Pet friendly home, close to the beach. Comfortable home with all basic essentials provided. Conveniently located to grocery shopping and places to explore (lighthouse and Wright Brothers museum). The beach was peaceful, clean and not crowded. (Mid-May). The house was clean and comfortable with space for everyone.

Great location will stay again

This was our second time staying at The Doghouse. We had more than enough room for two families and a dog. It is such a great location, with the beach just steps away, and has everything needed for a relaxing vacation. The house has had some updates since we were last there, which was a nice surprise. The owner, Greg was very responsive when I contacted him about checking in early. I would highly recommend staying at the Doghouse!

Our friends and us stayed at the Dog House over New Years. It was a perfect house for our group. We had 4 adults, and 5 children between the ages of 4-11. The house had lots of room and everything we needed. There was plenty of space to stretch out. The kitchen was well-equipped. The location was excellent. The weather was pretty mild at the end of December, so we were able to enjoy some time on the beach. Beach access is just a few houses down. It was really just perfect The kids enjoyed the upstairs. There were plenty of TVs. The house is set up really well for families with children. The hot tub was so much fun! It was a beautiful getaway. So many memories were made. We had a blast. Thank you!

Our family enjoyed staying at this property. The listing has the perfect description for the property. The beach had some of the most beautiful seashells I've ever seen. The house was perfect for our family and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay during Christmas. The home owner was great with communication and helping to resolve any issues we had. Having a grocery store less than five minutes away was perfect for all of our last minute needs. Looking forward to staying at this property again.

We stayed at The Doghouse during Veteran’s Day weekend recently, which was very fitting as the host is veteran-friendly and very communicable. The property and home was perfect for 2 families with young and teenage kids, along with a 4-legged family member, Airedale. I couldn’t have been happier with the accuracy of the property listing and amenities provided. We all enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings and the beach during the day. The view of the dunes were literally right there, and you could hear and smell the ocean just over the dunes with beach access being very close by. We would definitely stay at The Doghouse again. My husband and I and our two goldens stayed here for our one year anniversary and it was the best getaway. It was very convenient to get to the beach, the dogs loved the beach, and we absolutely loved the sunrise every morning over the ocean. It has the most beautiful view from the porches. Tons of space for a big family vacation. We can’t wait to come back!

This was a girls week - friends for over 40 years. The house was amazing. It was huge and had everything we needed. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was perfect. There were plenty towels available and a washer so we could wash them as needed. Plenty bathrooms for 8 women. A hot tub which was used a couple times. A short walk to the beach. Lots of stairs so if you have problems with stairs this may be an issue. It was so easy working with Greg. Definitely would recommend this property. Close to grocery stores, shopping and restaurants. My favorite thing was the swing on the deck. Many hours spent there swinging and talking. Beautiful home and area.

As advertised. It was just right for our family and dogs. Loved being so close to the ocean and really enjoyed the town of Corolla.

This house was everything it said it was, but if you were/are looking for a 5 star hotel then keep looking. I say this in a good way because the Doghouse was what we were looking for, a beach home that felt like home. Now we did have some issues with appliances as well as the AC, ALL of which were handled instantaneously by Greg! We have yet to meet Greg and his wife but we sure hope to some day. He has been the easiest person to work with in a VRBO rental. We have rented before through VRBO but not one took care like Greg did. As for the set up of the house,it was perfect for our 4 families,14 people,to stay in. The walk to the beach was a perfect distance for potty breaks 😀 and nap times. We hope to some day return to the Doghouse and OBX!!

If you want a house close to the beach, allows pets and gives military discounts this house checks all the boxes. However, it is in desperate need of a renovation. The curtains were stained, the roof leaked, the walls were covered with water marks and the third floor was very musty and damp.

Another great week at The Dog House! We have spent almost every summer vacation in Section F Ocean Sands for over 20 years. This by far is our favorite rental. Comfortable home away from home so close to the beach. The weather was lovely although a little cooler than we expected and a bit windy. Neighborhood was quiet. We spent our days on the beach and in the evening we enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen or on the grill, watching movies and playing cards. Greg the owner is the best! Always very quick to respond and answer questions before and during our stay. So happy to be able to spend another vacation here with our now grown up daughters!

We stayed at The Doghouse while attending a wedding and then for the week following. We had a great stay—very comfortable and relaxing. We were 4 adults, a 13 year old and an 18 month old. Very easy beach access and good views of the ocean over the dunes. Great location—you could even walk to Harris-Teeter or ice cream or a restaurant. Nice decks at the house for sitting out and the beach access board walk has a good seating area for taking in the views as well. The lower deck has a hot tub and nice double swing. The house layout is very good: second floor queen bedroom and bathroom with shower off the living room-kitchen with deck and grill; first floor (above ground) with two queen bedrooms each with a half bath adjoined by a shower-tub shared with either the 4 bed bunk room or the twin bed room which each have a half bath attached (so 4 half baths in a jack and jill shower-bath). The top floor is a great teen-kid hangout with tv, two futons, fooseball, and table and chairs. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a second refrigerator in the entrance level. We rented a full size crib but found there was a porta crib. We didn’t need baby gates because there was a door to close off the living room for the stairs and the decks were all railed. The house is very comfortably furnished and a great vacation spot, not far from historic Corolla for outings.

Our family of six and two dogs stayed here for a weekend wedding at The Whalehead Club. We needed to be convenient to the venue and somewhere that welcomed our two dogs. This place was exactly what we needed! Loved the location and the house had everything we needed to make us and our dogs feel comfortable. Highly recommend!

Process was easy, owner was extremely responsive when I had questions. Property had was very well stocked. Also has a large kitchen, refrigerator, huge dinner table everyone could fit comfortably. Very nice. Best of all, very close to the beach.

The best part about the vacation was not having to drive very far to get to anywhere great location.

Light and airy rooms and well equipped with paper goods and kitchen utensils - felt like coming home. Walking distance to a few restaurants too. Neighbors, some of them property owners, were welcoming. The beach is nice and wide and the boardwalk and stairs were in good condition. We appreciated being able to bring our four legged members of our family and prefer a more rustic house for that reason. When a storm came through with a tornado watch, we felt safer knowing we were in such a solid house. Loved the old picture on the wall showing this house as one of the few here back in the day. We had a great stay at The Doghouse. Property was just as the host described - not fancy but perfectly comfortable. Kitchen was well appointed and the proximity to the beach could not have been better given the price. We'll be back! One other fun thing to note ... there are a few undeveloped acres that the back deck looks down on. We had a great time watching for several huge bucks that seem to frequent the spot. Sometimes they were out in the open, other times simply a barely visible rack in the brush, but it became natures version of "wheres Waldo" for us.

We enjoyed an great off-season December weekend at the Outer Banks at the Doghouse. super short walk to the beach and super convenient to restaurants and shops. Tons of room for everyone and affordable rental. Would recommend!
