The apartment was done up so pretty and decorated for Christmas which was a lovely added bonus as we’d kids watching the toy show the night before a family event. There was loads of room and the facilities were terrific & in a wonderful central location

Very comfortable beds and sitting room area, smart TV, apartment was very nicely decorated throughout, nice large shower and good kitchen area. Great location within Athenry with free parking and a lot of additional services eg restaurant, pizzeria, cafe all as part of the Lodge At the Old Barracks. We got breakfast one of the mornings from the Restaurant which was very tasty.

Excellent lodge. We were given a lovely, cozy and spacious room with three windows overlooking the main street (but quiet and silent). At our arrival we found some delicious sweets in the room, jointly with a keetle and spring water. Everything was very clean. There was free parking for guests (otherwise there are metters in the streets). Breakfast was a la carte in nearby restaurant.

Beds, although very comfy, were not too long (I was travelling with my partner who is 1'91 m high and noticed it).

Spacious rooms. The Old Barracks Restaurant was delicious. Great breakfast ,lunch, and dinner.

The room was beautiful and clean. We loved the special touch with mini cakes on arrival. The Lodge is perfectly located in Athenry- easy to walk around the town from there.

It might be useful to have a little table/desk, the room was certainly large enough.

Lounge/kitchen very nicely done. Bedroom and bathroom too. Tasteful and functional. Cafe opposite and pizzeria a couple of doors along have same ownership and are excellent. - At least, pizzeria was so busy we couldn't get a table! Breakfast opposite very reasonable and delicious. Place full of locals too so a good sign. Indian restaurant next door to the flat entrance excellent too! We had a delicious meal there. Athenry very handy for Galway and on main line to Dublin. Very nice village with some medieval ruins and buildings. Also a new Aldi just off the high street! Very handy!

Front door key to building hard to work. Didn't have Wi-Fi for a day but teething problems for the property. Ev'one very helpful and Wi-Fi got sorted.. Maybe not as much to see in Athenry as had imagined - profits from its historical position but still very nice.

The plug for the hairdryer was away far from the mirror! Room a little small.

Spacious room for 4 people and big clean bathroom. The breakfast which was included was phenomenal!

Only issue we had was no plug sockets near a mirror, no good for ladies staying in a room that need to do hair

Athenry is a quiet town. It seems like the restaurants shut down around 7pm. There is a Aldi a short walk from the Lodge for necessities. The apartment was well appointed, clean, and roomy for our family of four. It’s a great base for adventures in Galway, Doolin, the Burren, and the Cliffs.

My only actual complaint was the weak wifi. You could not use it in all areas of the apartment and it did not hook up to the TV, only an issue the one night we wanted to chill and watch Netflix. But that’s pretty minor all things considered.

Room clean and comfy and quiet at night. All good qualities for me. Nice touch with complimentary cakes also. Breakfast exceptional too.

No faults here we were attending a wedding so I would definitely stay again if visiting surrounding areas i.e Galway as convenient and affordable.

Great location to everything in town. Super updated and clean! Fantastic breakfast ordered from the menu at the beautiful restaurant included in the price of the room. Great bakery, restaurant and pizzeria on site. Friendly and helpful staff. Private and quiet rooms.

There is no elevator but the staff will carry your bags up if you need them to.

Nice rooms. But the house and decorations, the food and the service was the best of our road-trip in the west. Also loved the shower water pressure.

There could have been a coat hanger on the wall and a chair and a little table in the room for stuff to put on, but since we only stayed for one night it didn’t really matter

Restaurant, bakery and pizza was top notch. Great job to the owners and their Team.

Comfortable room friendly staff great breakfast. Good value for money

Stayed for 3 nights for a wedding in the area. Rooms very cosy and clean. Fantastic food in the restaurant, lovely layout with plenty of space. All staff were so friendly and in no rush to move us on, allowing us to really enjoy our breakfast. We had lunch in the restaurant and also pizza in the bistro one evening and every bit of food at The Old Barracks was fantastic !
