Walnut Cottage exceeded expectations and was much lovelier than the listing indicates. It was warm and welcoming and the garden, in early September, was full of birdsong and little garden treasures. The cottage was beautifully styled and equipped with everything we could possibly need, the fire was set and ready to go, the beds were very comfortable and linen and towels of the very best quality. Everything felt fresh and clean. Walnut Cottage is the sort of place you arrive at, but find it difficult to leave, even to explore the area. Excellent communication with the host Michelle, too. Simply wonderful!

We will return in the Spring/Summer to better appreciate the outside deck, BBQ and beautiful garden. It was also great to have power provided in the carport so we could do an overnight top up charge for our EV.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Walnut Cottage and hope to visit again soon. The cottage itself is gorgeous- beautifully renovated and has everything you need. We loved the fire place, 2 lounge rooms and the deck overlooking the most beautiful garden. The cottage was also immaculate - probably the cleanest holiday house we've stayed in. Highly recommend.

Beautiful gardens are a perfect environment for this stunning historic cottage which has been lovingly restored. We absolutely loved everything about our stay (especially the bathtub and fireplace lol), it was exactly what we wanted and needed. 5 stars all around for Walnut Cottage. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend.

Walnut Cottage was as beautiful as always. An excellent choice for a family with a teenager, options for chill out zones snd great local bike riding options. Beautiful kitchen plus everything you could possible need. The fire was perfect and added that extra experience. Thank you.

We had the most cosy and relaxing week in this picture perfect cottage. The photos are amazing but the cottage and property far exceeded our expectations. The cottage and grounds were immaculate with every comfort you could think of was provided. The breakfast provisions were so generous, the fireplace was very appreciated and every inclusion is of high quality. The country location is extremely peaceful. We visited the local pub twice for a meal as it was so good and the village shop has the best coffee. The village is a great base to explore the Southern Highlands. We would absolutely recommended a stay at Walnut Cottage as it is a very special property.

We look forward to coming back to this lovely place every year. Decorated beautifully and so comfy, gorgeous garden, great for all the local amenities of the Kangaroo Valley. Love it.

This was a lovely, relaxing and beautiful property to stay at with our family. Everything felt perfect and despite a very chilly weekend in the highlands, we were cosy with the fire, heating and electric blankets. The yard and outlook is gorgeous and we felt tucked away. Overall, a wonderful.plave to stay.

The house was superbly appointed. Everything was to perfection, no aspect of our stay was ignored. The bedding, the towels the crockery and glassware everything was perfect. Even to the little bird which was the outside tap handle. Everything was beautiful

We just loved our stay at Walnut Cottage. The owner Michelle has paid such attention to detail and everything in the house is really high quality. I appreciated her quick and helpful responses to questions which made planning the trip so easy. The beds are especially comfortable! The house is also well located as a base for exploring the Southern Highlands and wineries, and a short walk to the local pub. Would highly recommended staying here.

Hi Michelle. My friends and I had such a lovely weekend in your cottage. The cottage, gardens and location are so beautiful and serene. There was so many lovely little touches in the cottage we enjoyed. I think it is the cleanest holiday rental I have ever stayed in and all the fittings, kitchenware, linen etc were of the highest quality. The supplied breakfast was so lovely we decided to eat in rather than eat in one of the beautiful cafes. The beds were comfortable, the fire was ready to light ( as yes we enjoyed it on an unseasonably cold December night!), all the decor was so attractive. We couldn’t think of one thing you could improve. We each thought we’d love to come again with our husbands. Much needed and appreciated weekend of relaxation.

We loved our stay. The property is amazing and everything has been well looked after and clean. There was everything we could possible need including breakfast and toiletries. This is one of the best experiences we had in terms of accomodation in the Southern Highlands. It’s a lovely cottage that caters for a small family or couple but that has absolutely everything you may need. In the kitchen you will find a delicious homemade bread,, milk, eggs, butter and everything else that makes a good breakfast. The garden is well kept and private. The cottage is spotless and decorated with a good taste including a log fire. We will surely be back!

Thank you so much for the “loan” of Walnut Cottage for our stay. Whilst the weather did not conform to my planning for a late spring sojourn (until the morning we departed!), we felt that snuggled in front of the fire with a glass of wine complements of the house with the thunder and rain all around us, made for an equally charming stay. Michelle, your attention to detail, your communication in regard to preferences for the bedrooms and preparation of the cottage was superb. Thank you so much. Just one note for those staying for some time, like many little towns around Australia, there is no local shop for supplies - the general store is a cafe closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and so make sure you plan accordingly. Enjoy your stay and watch out for the Australian King Parrot - he was extraordinary.

We stayed at Walnut Cottage as we were in Burrawang for our wedding. The property is just beautiful; well renovated, stocked and includes all the things you may forget! The back lawn is a great spot to relax or for little ones to run around. We would love to stay again in this charming cottage a short stroll from the village centre. Thanks for having us!

Very clean and cosy cottage to relax plus a good location to explore the Southern Highlands. No too far away from the coast for a day trip to the beach either.

Our stay at the cottage was exceptional. From the minute you walk in, it feels like home. The house is amazing but then add the enormous flower filled garden and yard, it is a truly beautiful place. Breakfast provisions were great, there was something for everyone. We really appreciated the chilled bottle of wine after a long drive. We lit the fire every night, it kept the house lovely and warm. The Tv didn't even get turned on. Board games in front of the fire till very late kept us entertained. We get so caught up with work and study. It was great to just turn off and enjoy ourselves as a family. Michelle was one of the best hosts we have encountered. Great personalised communication and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Walnut Cottage is the perfect place to base yourself to explore the highlands. A stay at Walnut Cottage and the little village of Burrawang is a little stay in Paradise.
