My family and I stayed in the Key Lime cottage in Freeport for 10 nights. We had a wonderful experience! Gladys was so friendly and accommodating. She answered any questions we had before we got there and during our stay, she gave us some great suggestions on places to eat, things to see... she was the perfect host! And the cottage is in the perfect location. It's down the beach from most of the resorts so it's a little more quiet and secluded than if we would've stayed at a bigger hotel. It's right on the beach so we were able to go back and forth between the sun and shade very easily! When we were on the beach, we pretty much had it to ourselves... and what a beautiful beach it is! It looks exactly like the pictures you see on the website... absolutely gorgeous! And there are some great local restaurants within walking distance of the cottage so if we didn't want to worry about transportation, we had several options available for meals... and these restaurants have great food! Overall, our experience on the island was great... by far one of the best vacations we've ever had! The Key Lime cottage at Diamonds by the Sea was perfect for our family... very clean, away from the crowds and just the right size for the 5 of us! If you ever go to Freeport, you should definitely consider staying with Gladys. :)

The property is stupendous, the location is outstanding...this is our 4th stay and I've already booked my trip for next year. Everything is just as described. You have a secure, secluded location with great accommodations: a/c, internet, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and all utensils and amenities you could need/want. The very best thing is the deck area where you can hang out, grill, lay on the couch and read, nap in the hammock or just catch some rays. The place is kept immaculate and is truly my home away from home~

Our group loved Key Lime. The cottage was exactly as described, and it was SO nice to be just a short sandy-path walk to the beach. Gladys was so sweet and helpful not only through our booking process, but even after we arrived. She even stopped at the house after we arrived to make sure all was ok. We had a great time.

We really enjoyed staying here for two weeks. We were six people (two toddlers). The porch is really nice and we spent a lot of time here during the day and eating out in the evening. It's a very short walk down to the beach, and it feels very quiet and private. We recommand going to the Sand bar just a short walk on the beach. Thank you!

We had 5 amazingly fabulous nights at keylime cottage, it surpassed expectations and we were in paradise...only a few seconds walk from the beach and a few mins from beach side bars it was so quiet and peaceful, exactly what I had hoped for.. It was so easy to book and Gladys and shirley were so helpful in getting us in a few supplies as we arrived late evening. We shall definitely return it was a fantastic way to celebrate turning 40! Banana bay close by was wonderful for lunch and swimming with the dolphins was magical. Wonderful memories until next time... Leeanne

We stayed in the Keylime cottage while in Grand Bahama and it was great. Very private and cozy feeling. The cottage was very clean with everything you would need. The beach was beautiful and the surrounding property around the cottage was very pretty. Gladys was very friendly and there to help if needed. We had a wonderful time. Very nice and private place to stay. Loved Margaritaville down the beach. Lots of things to do close by.

The house was well-kept, clean, comfortable and in a fabulous location right on the beach. There were two local bar/pubs within walking distance that were fun for a cocktail. Although we had read that there was a place within walking distance we weren't provided with any information on their location and mistakenly went to the hotel bar to the left and proceeded to get kicked out. However, we figured it out. Note to renters: take a right when on the beach to get to pub! We had two elderly individuals in our group of 6 who had to take the downstairs master suite. It was initially intended for my husband and I, but they could not walk up the stairs. The description could be updated a bit to clarify location of rooms. Also, the description stated that outdoors there was a kayak and 2 bicycles available which there wasn't and would have been great. In addition, there is no plunge pool tied to this rental. The weather was surprisingly cold (40's at night) and we needed to use the 2 heaters available (one for upstairs and one for downstairs) to stay warm. On the second night we were told we had to relinquish one of our heaters to the cottage next door because they did not have any and we froze that night! New heaters were purchased for us the next day however. There was not enough dishware (glasses and cups) for all 6 of us to eat together and although it says toilet paper and soap provided; only one roll in each bathroom (not enough for a larger group of renters). We would have thought there would be a spare under the sink but not. We found out the hard way, so plan on buying extra or bringing some. The deck was a great place to hang out and lots of chairs were available. The outside gardens were nice. Although we hadn't planned on renting a car for the whole time, we did and it worked out great. It gave us freedom to go out and get things as needed and see the sites. We enjoyed the nature center, and the caves and dined frequently at port Lucaya. We went to Luciano's for Christmas dinner which was fantastic. The International Bizarre was quite sad and a real disappointment. Definitely not worth the trip there. Overall, a really nice rental unit in a quiet and relaxed setting; great for family and friends. I would certainly recommend it to others. The owner was very professional in handling all aspects of the rental before arrival but unfortunately was not available to provide us with information while there because she was away.

We stayed for a week (a couple with two kids ages 9 and 6). The cottage was spotless and the sandy beach is beautiful. It's a great place to vacation with kids, very quiet and secluded. Gladys was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions about the island. It was windy for a few days and the water was not clear enough for snorkeling. But once the wind died down, there was good snorkeling right in front of our place (but not many fishes). We loved the boat tour to the coral reef and the Unexso dolphin experience.

We stayed at the Key Lime cottage in May of 2010 and had just an incredible time! We had never been to the Bahamas before and any expectations we had of staying on a pristine and unspoiled beach, waking to the sound of the surf, swimming and snorkeling in crystal waters, and great hospitality were greatly exceeded! We were with our 2 children and their friends and this was the ideal place to relax and let "island time" become our time. We walked the white sand beaches and snorkeled for the first time. There was a fantastic little bar/restaurant just down the beach from us...incredible tropical drinks and conch!! We went there almost every day for lunch. Don't miss the live music on Sunday night! Also, thanks to a recommendation from a bartender there, we found a wonderful fishing/snorkeling guide. In fact, we spent most of our last day with him on his boat fishing, reef snorkeling, and diving for sand dollars. He even made us a fabulous conch salad from the conch he dove for earlier that morning. It took us a long time after we returned home to stop thinking about what a great time we had there. Gladys is the absolute best hostess...giving us guidance when we asked, but giving us our total privacy...the best of both worlds for the kind of vacation we like. We can't wait to go back! Huge thanks to Gladys!!

The listings here are accurate. It's a clean bright cottage just footsteps from the beach. For most of our long weekend we felt like we had a white sand beach all to ourselves. Gladys answered all our questions, helped with some recommendations, and was available but never imposing. The "sand bar" down the beach was a great place to mix with the locals and keep the sand between your toes. If you want to wander, be sure to check out Port Lucaya and also the caves, mangroves, and gorgeous beach at the national park. Thanks for your hospitality Gladys. We hope you stay busy, but not too busy so we can return soon.

Me, my wife, and our dog - Tina, spent our 25th wedding anniversary in this cottage. It was one of the best vacations that we've ever had. The cottage was clean and beautiful, and the beach was private. The owner (Gladys) is delightful and a very nice person. Restaurants and the casino are just a short drive away. We didn't need to rent a car as we had a wonderful taxi driver named Smitty who took us everywhere at reasonable rates - use him when you go to Diamonds - Gladys has the information. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation in a private and safe location, look no further. This is the place you want to go to! Hotels are cold and crowded. Having your own home away from home is the way to go. We will come back here next year and for many years to come. Enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed ours - I know you will. And Tina loved it also - she recommends it for your pet.

Beautifully situated at beach. Cottages are clean, well appointed, nicely decorated, comfortable and spacious. There are only a few cottages in the compound, which is well-maintained and adorned with lush plants and flowers, so you feel like you’re away from it all. The ocean breezes are soothing. Gladys is eager to accommodate. She is available when needed, but not intrusive. Children are welcome. Churchill Beach, where Diamonds By the Sea is located, is a short distance from Port Lucaya. We love Grand Bahama Island, particularly the beach at Lucayan National Park, which is also only a short drive from Diamonds by the Sea. We intend to go back to Diamonds by the Sea. Highly recommended.

I arrived first and could not have been taken better care by Gladys. The most beautiful lady and her friend were wonderful to me. Then slowly, the rest of my family arrived one by one and each day was great. The Keylime cottage was fabulous and everything and more than I expected and I have stayed at really wonderful hotels all over the world. The location is great with fun places down the beach to eat and drink with the locals. Getting around is so easy with a car and the Bahamian people are just lovely and friendly. I cannot wait to go back and stay in the Keylime cottage. But all of Gladys' cottages are exquisite.

Wonderful facilities - very clean - excellent "land lady" - very accomodating - anything you need she has and will give you. The most relaxing place I have ever been. Discovered a "Costco" ilke store just near the airport - instead of going straight onto Bahama Highway - go to the right (9 o'clock on the round about) and it is one your right. Great place to stock up on food for the cottage. Restaurants in Lucaya are plenty and good - But nothing is quite as wonderful as cooking at "home" and watching the sun go down. We will be back - with grandchildren this time! Thank You - Dreaming of returning soon

We all would like to say Thank You so much for sharing your beautiful cottages and surroundings with us! We all had an extremely relaxing time at Diamonds by the Sea!. The accomodations were perfect for our families! The kids absolutely loved the beach, the sun, the marine life and the entire experience. (as did the adults!) What a truly relaxing place and vacation. It was like we had 2 miles of beach all to ourselves. Bonfires on the beach, listening to the gentle surf, enjoying the natural beauty of the ocean! Very charming townhouses on a secluded beach front property. The townhouses are very clean and modern and well kept. The owner gives you total freedom on her property and is very accomodating. The beach area is clean and well kept up with beautiful sand. You are close to Lucaya with many restaurants and great nightlife and casinos. Diamonds By The Sea is a true gem. I'll stay there again.

We've never been so relaxed...We were a group of six staying in one of the two 3-bedroom cottages. What a wonderful experience! It was September and I think we lived on the beach - the water was so warm! We enjoyed the cottage charm of the unit - the hot tub and the tropical grounds. We will absolutely go back!

We had a great vacation at the Key Lime Cottage of Diamonds By the Sea! The house was very comfortable for a family of 4 and could have easily accomodated 2 more. This is a clean, comfortable beach house just a few steps from a very nice, very secluded beach with very calm waters. Very secluded -- other than a few folks strolling by, you might not see anyone else on the beach as far as the eye can see (we were there at the end of July '07). Ten minutes by car to the shops and restaurants of Lucaya...lots of great dinner spots there. A decent grocery store nearby for stocking the Diamonds kitchen -- since you're only a few steps off the beach, we ate breakfast and lunch at the cottage most days. (Word to the wise -- check your expiration dates and packaging wherever you shop on Grand Bahama!). There are also a couple of decent restaurants a short stroll down the beach from Diamonds. The island is great -- we did a swim with the dolphins program, many snorkle trips, and many day trips by car to some great beaches around the island. The Diamonds by the Sea owners are excellent and very accomodating...we we're treated as part of the family, including a great extended family beach bonfire one night! We were a little apprehensive about sending partial payment before we arrived (no credit cards accepted), but found the owners to be completely trustworthy and would not hesitate to do buisiness with them in the future. Now, forget everything you just read, because we want to keep this one our own little secret! ;)

Diamonds was a great place to stay if you like to relax. The cottage sits behind the main house but has easy access to the beach where chairs are provided; although it's behind the main house it still has some view of the water. Very laid back and worth the money. Restaurants/bars are a short walk on the beach. The beach is very private - even the locals (taxis) didn't know the road we were on. We enjoyed snorkeling right off the wonderful fine sand beach where we saw plentiful starfish. The cottage is very clean and open with a nice patio to enjoy the sounds of the ocean. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to relax and kick back on the beach. The owner is very friendly and a great hostess who makes you feel welcome.
