It almost felt like we were on a boat… The tide comes way up and the balcony is over the water. The sound of the waves 24 seven was very soothing and amazing. The beach is incredible and you can have amazing walks. We loved swimming and just walking down to the beach- it’s so easy to just go down, barefoot and in your swimsuit, and then rinse off as you’re coming back up. Easy walking to Malibu pier and lots of shopping! There is no air conditioning, but you don’t need it as the ocean breeze is super nice. I easy parking and the linens and towels and blankets and shower curtain were brand new and clean… There is a little bit of updating that they need to do but nothing too drastic at all. They definitely need to update the cooking items and knives, but it sounds like they are doing that. In terms of communication, there wasn’t really any, probably because it is managed by a company. But that was too bad because it would’ve been nice to have a bit more communication. The on-site manager is really great though. We would definitely stay there again!

Right on the beach, which is what we wanted. However, the apartment and complex was shabby and run down. The living room fold out couch was unacceptably uncomfortable, closet doors falling off the tracks, the stairs to the beach were dangerously rotten and unmaintained, hair in the utensil drawer, etc. etc. Not a suitable place for more than two people and not enough seating for relaxing in the living room. Disappointed…

I had such an amazing time at this location. it’s the perfect size for a friend or 2, and the views are just breathtaking. I’m so thankful i got the chance to stay here i will definitely be coming back!

If your primary goal is to stay near/on the beach in Malibu for a decent price, then this is the right place for you. Overall there is nothing egregiously bad about this place but almost every aspect about it is fair(except the location). The owner was very responsive to me when checking in. The place itself is very small(we had 2 adults and two small children). I think this is more my fault then the owner as it clearly states the sq ft of the place on the listing - I just want to point it out for people looking to stay here with more than 2 adults. The sofa bed is really only sufficient for small children because of the thinness of the mattress. There are many areas of the apartment that have not been cleaned well or recently. There are many small cosmetic repairs that need to be made and as a result the place feels run-down. All locations outside the apartment(laundry, trash bins, storage area, path down to beach) were rather dirty and unkept. Some indoor area rugs and entry mats would help make the place more comfortable.

This was our second stay. We love the location. It would be nice to have more seating and seating that was more comfortable. The property is clean and everything was in working order. Angel, the property manager, is on site and available if there are any issues. (We had none.).

I stayed here last year. That’s why I came back this year because I enjoyed it so much and I enjoy the owners. I will come back again.

The apartment is in a great location, but the living room really needs some comfort additions: replace uncomfortable rocker with an armchair, replace old metal stools with dining chairs and perhaps add a rug.

Rent frequently from VRBO but this was the worst property ever. Dirty, hair in sofa bed, sticky cabinets, access to beach rickety stairs, most lights burned out and upstairs an elephant whom we think is the owner. Posting late as they seemed very threatening and hesitant to post. No beach most of the time.

Great location! Property Manager was very welcoming and helpful. The only negative was there was only 1 couch for seating and 1 uncomfortable decorative wooden rocking chair, which we didn't use. There is plenty of room for another comfortable chair or even a love seat , then we can rate it as 5-star.

Location is 2nd to one. Waking and watching dolphins play in the morning to the sounds of the waves pounding against the shore at night. Great location, lots of nearby restaurants, neighborhood felt super safe, absolutely loved this place.

This was our second stay. It was great, clean and the cable has improved from last year. The views are awesome. The bed is very comfortable and I forgot to check the brand name this year. The staff are helpful and kind. They offered to extend our stay at a discount, but we had a flight the next day. Otherwise we would have loved to stay longer. Only draw back is that I wish there was a bigger couch or another couch to relax on. We would love to stay again.

Next door to the malibu pier. The site wa clean and everything worked. Angel takes a lot of pride and it shows how with yhe condition of the property. He met us at check in and took care of any issue. Definitely worth the cost. Will stay again. P

We loved the location and views from the property! It’s clean and felt safe. The addition of some more comfortable seating and substantial chairs at the table would be a nice addition. We would very stay again!

The positive thing about this unit is that it is right on the water with a good view. I saw dolphins and seals and the beach was uncrowded. It is also close to a lot of shopping and restaurants. This is a good price for the area but it wasn’t cheap. It was very run down for the price with grimy kitchen ware and stained cheap linens. There isn’t AC and there are not any screens on the sliding door or the windows so sleeping with them open wasn’t an option. This was my oversight I should have read the listing more thoroughly so just a heads up. There was an ant invasion in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. I had to ask for ant traps and they did provide some. If you read through the reviews for this unit and others in this complex the ant issue has been persistent. The fact that this hasn’t ever been rectified is really unacceptable. There is a diagonal and not very effective privacy wall between the neighboring balcony. My biggest concerns though were the safety issues. There is a jacuzzi tub/shower combo that has really high sides. There needs to be grab bars on the wall to help assist navigating the high tub side. The staircase down to the beach has no handrails either. There is a trip hazard/half step between the front door and the beach staircase that should be marked. Overall it was disappointing and between the safety and ant issues I would not stay here again.

This place was just what we were looking for! Well stocked with everything we needed! You cannot beat the view and the location could not be any better! Samuel and Angel are both super friendly and attentive and were great to talk to. We are definitely going back! HIDDEN GEM!!!

The unit backs up to the ocean and it is incredible. The property is right next to Surfrider Beach, so you can just walk and set up on the beach. Our property manager, Angel, was very helpful and had everything ready for us when we arrived. Highly recommended.

This unit was exactly what we wanted in a beachfront vacation home. It is in a great location close to restaurants, grocery stores and the different beaches in Malibu. We would definitely come back again !
