The cottage was so cute and easily accommodated we three, nicely. Located a block from the beach and great shops, being able to walk was nice. Great neighborhood towards the beach.

Enjoyed getting away from New Orleans for Mardi Gras weekend. Quaint cottage within walking distance of the water & fishing pier, restaurants and a few shops.

We enjoyed our second extended stay in the area. This was the first time at this home! Karen was very easy to work with. We got in to town earlier than expected, and she cleaned guests from the previous night to allow us to check in a few hours early! The home is larger than it appears, beds and decor were very nice! Fun listening to the owls in the neighborhood! Sitting on the front porch in 60 degree+ temps was great! We enjoyed visiting with Karen, and learned so much about the area! Great stay!

My family really enjoyed our stay in BAL. The house was perfect for my husband and I including 3 teens. The house is bigger than it appears in the photos. It has a cute front porch and close to Gulfport and Biloxi. It's walking distance to BSL stores and resturants. We have a great weekend. Karen, the property owner was an excellent communicator and very responsive. She made sure we had everything we needed. We will be staying again and recommending this rental to others.

We really enjoyed our stay and could not have asked for a better place. The house is beautiful, clean, cozy and well appointed with everything you could need or want. We really enjoyed sitting out on the front porch while our children played in the yard. Karen was absolutely wonderful to deal with and incredibly accommodating. Best of all, the location is second to none. Steps from the beach and 2 minutes to Old Town. Look no further. This is the house for a stay in BSL. We will definitely be back.

It was ok. However, photos on Vrbo of cottage were outdated and gave wrong impression of premises.

The property and Karen , the property owner were both awesome !! The house is perfect and comfortable and is in a great central location . We will definitely stay there again . I highly recommend this cottage for your next stay !

The booking of the property and communication with the owner was seemless. Not once were there any awkwardness that is sometimes experienced with owners. The house is lovely, and without a doubt one of the better stocked places I've stayed. We didn't have to make unnecessary trips to town to grab little items one might forget, as if the owner planned, smartly to cater to those needs. The house is much bigger than advertised. The area is big enough to accommodate a large family. Or multiple couples. It sits on a quiet street, but close enough to the beach and restaurants that doesn't make travel difficult. The town is golfcart friendly, therefore renting one, if you didn't bring your own, is a MUST. The locals are incredibly friendly. The outside has a nice sitting area equipped with a gas grill and a fire pit. The area is fenced, to provide privacy and the yard has an array of different flowering tress and shrubbery. We enjoyed our stay, and will rent again.

Great amount of space, quick walk to beach...

The front porch allowed us to watch a thunderstorm come in and stay dry. Easy to walk to the beach, which we did every day. Was very quiet in town while we were there. Weekend picked up.

Karen’s place is full of charm and comfort. It is a walk or short ride to shops and restaurants. You can see the water from the 2 blocks it is to the beach. Karen is responsive and easy to work with regarding your stay and details.

This was our second stay at the Blue Crab Bungalow. My husband and I stayed here with my daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. We love staying here! The house accommodates all of us very well. LOVE the front porch. We sit out at night and enjoy a wonderful breeze. The grandkids had a blast on the beach, catching crabs and going fishing. Super location, only 1-1/2 blocks to the beach! Also close to Main Street, with nice antique shops and The Creole Creamery, our favorite ice cream shop. Local restaurants are good as well. You can also get to Gulfport and Biloxi easily from here. We are never disappointed when we come to Bay St. Louis and stay here. We are looking forward to next year already!

This a great location in a quiet, safe neighborhood near the beach and is easily accessible to nearby attractions. The hostess was easy to reach and was very responsive to our questions. We highly recommend staying here and we look forward to staying here again.

Great time! We loved being within walking distance to the beach & downtown. A bit warm but to be expected the time of year we traveled. It was centerally located between the two main places were also visited during our week along the Gulf Coast. The owner had great recommendations for places to visit, restaurants, and easily communicated with us when our youngest forgot a special stuffy to return it. It was fabulous!

The house had a lot of space, enough for my two young kids to run around and have fun. The fenced backyard was nice and the front porch was very relaxing and my favorite space in the mornings. Loved the area it was in and the walk to the beach wasn't too bad, even in the heat. The down sides were that the house was not cleaned very well upon arrival. There was clearly dust on surfaces and after about 5 min the bottom of my child's feet were black. The owner came and cleaned the floors the next morning and was responsive whenever we needed her which was appreciated. The largest problem was that the bedroom with the futon had a mildew smell to it and my child that slept in that room had a significant allergic reaction to it from the first night on. All of the members of my family experienced allergies while in the house after several days (they disappeared within 1-2 hrs of being out of the house and came back within 20 min in the house which is how I figured out it was the house and not regional allergies or another irritant). We had to move houses part way through our stay which ended up being a significant expense (though we were very willing to make it to improve our health and have a better vacation). The owner did not offer any type of refund for the days not used, which I did not think was great, but accepted. The most frustrating part of it all for me was that after I told the owner we had to leave because of allergies that were unbearable she stated no one had ever told her that was an issue.... I easily found an earlier review mentioning this. The house is nice, in a good location, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was sufficient. I would recommend this as an option to others, but would strongly caution anyone that has any history with allergies.

The house is spacious and lovely. Location to the beach is right there as well as to other interesting activities. The neighborhood is quiet and very nice. Communicating with the owner was easy and quick through text. She was very helpful with our few questions and even text us out of concern when we arrived later then expected. Overall and excellent trip.

Nice fenced yard if traveling with small pet. Comfortable bedding. Well equipped kitchen. Close to restaurants, shopping, casinos, and beaches.

The Blue Crab Bungalow is a delightful spot in BSL that has easy access to the beach and all the amenities anyone will need to unwind on the South Coast. Our hostess Karen was incredibly easy to work with for the check in process and even made sure we were all set during our stay - a nice gesture. The space is one we will certainly consider for any future travels to BSL and we recommend it to anyone interested in experiencing the Gulf Coast.

This was a comfortable vacation house and the location was great. We were able to walk to the beach and close to town. The area is very pleasant. We would rent here again.

My wife and I really enjoyed our week in old town Bay St. Louis. The area has so much charm and interesting stuff to do.

House was great!! You can’t go wrong staying here, and it’s location is perfect. This was a short trip just for my husband and I, but the house is big enough for a large family.

Neeeded a place to stay over Christmas. Close to family, close to beach, and close to Old Town and Depot area. House was perfect for our stay. Karen was great and worked with us on allowing my daughter's dog which was part of the need for the house. Kitchen is roomy and does the trick. Nice private backyard.

Pros - terrific location, easy walk to lovely beach, restaurants and shops. Appliances all worked great, large rooms, plenty of seating, nice front porch. Lots of towels (bath and beach). Air conditioner kept things nice and cool. The house has great character, and the cost per night was very reasonable.Cons - majority of smoke detectors were missing (just a mounting plate on the ceiling). Front gate was broken and lying up against the fence, and back fence was missing lower slats so pets were not secure. Threshold at the back door was not attached so left a gap that rodents or bugs could get through. And the trolley has not run for “some years” according to locals.We were there with kids and dogs, so were comfortable with the fact that it wasn’t real fancy or fragile. It fit our needs but there were other cosmetic flaws that we noticed - missing ceiling vent, burned out/missing bulbs in ceiling fans, building supplies in closet, sticking doors, etc. The house has so much potential to be a really amazing rental, so it was hard to ignore some of the flaws. The trolley, the missing fence, and the smoke detectors (a big safety concern in an older house) were the main issues for us.But we did have a great time - at the beach, walking around town, getting coffee or ice cream, and bicycling nearby neighborhoods. We slept comfortably and had what we needed, at a very reasonable price. Bottom line, we would probably go back but would not pay more than we did.

Karen was very friendly and made communication very easy. The location of the house was perfect for our family. We were so close to the beach and the neighborhood was very cute. The house has so much character and such charming detail that at first it seemed perfect, but as we unpacked the state of things became clear. The rooms are unfinished (painting was unfinished, open ceiling vents, partially assembled lawn mower in one bedroom, tile in the closets, art leaning against the walls, etc....) We did not expect to stay in a house that was in the middle of a renovation. We would have happily overlooked all of that if the place had been cleaned well, unfortunately it was not. We would stay here again in the future when the house is finished and the pictures on the sight have been updated to reflect that fact.
