The views are breathtaking. Everyone had an wonderful time. The wedding was simply one of a kind and the host are amazing! The pool and hot tub do not disappoint! You get lost in tranquility!

Large wonderful house with indoor and outdoor spaces to be together or escape if needed. Unfortunately we had heavy fog which obscured the spectacular views until the last morning. Nonetheless the pool/spa/deck and large kitchen provided large group areas, while the parlor and multiple balconies provided more intimate places to connect with just one or two others. At night with heavy fog one will not want to venture out as the road is narrow, windy and poorly marked. Property is quite steep and requires negotiating multiple sets of stairs. Very clean and well-stocked. Enjoyed our stay. Perfect for family get together.

The house has an open layout with windows everywhere at the top of a mountain, overlooking the Malibu Pier and Carbon Beach. Everything in the house is functional, and the pool and hot tub inviting. Will either stay here again, or beg the owners to sell to me!

Lovely home that's well stocked and has views of Santa Monica/Venice to the south and the ocean to the north. The deck, with the pool, shaded dining table, views, and spa, is the best part of the property. Owners are delightful and great to work with. It's very much off the beaten path -- so it's very private.

Our time at this property was magical for us - just pulling up in the driveway and taking in the view, we knew that this was going to be an unforgettable experience. It’s hard for photos to do the house justice because there are so many spaces, each one special. We spent as much time outdoors as possible - loved the whole area with the pool and hot tub and the outdoor tables. We ate out there every evening. When it was clear, we could experience the beauty and the peace of the view - when it was cloudy, I felt like I must be in heaven - floating above the clouds. We watched hawks gliding by and even a hang glider one day. We were ages 8 to 80. This house was perfect for each of us - the indoor spaces - enhanced by the beautiful art work everywhere made it so unique and special. The master suite was not only comfortable, we loved taking a shower pointing right into the apex of this incredible view! Every morning, I got up and sat on the balcony - just breathing it in. The kitchen worked so well for a large group - everyone could participate without getting in the way. We brought in food, got take out and had one meal catered. Easy to get deliveries if you need it. The kids loved the trampoline and learned to do front flips on it. All 13 of us left happy and grateful for this special, bonding time in an intentional living space surrounded by beauty. Lee and Steve are the best hosts - there when you need them.

This home delivers and looks like the pictures. Our only surprise was how high up the mountain it was. As long as you do not have a fear of heights, you’ll enjoy the drive and the house. There are also a lot of steps up to and in the house so that is something to be aware of if you’re traveling with older grandparents. Lots of beds and sleeping options and a nice kitchen with about anything you would need. The pool, hot tub and trampoline were great for the kids and adults. The hosts were available and attentive to our needs. We enjoyed our time there!

Incredible view— MUCH better than the photos. We picked up our groceries on PCH, and then started to drive 20 minutes up a steep and windy road. We lost connection so be sure to keep your phone on so that you don't get lost (some guests did). It was a really beautiful, somewhat quirky house, interestingly decorated with I think African masks and lovely artwork throughout. I could have stayed up there for weeks and just enjoyed the amazing view. The house was showing its age or oddities in some areas, like toilets not working on the second day and the fridge showing some dripping, but I do not mean to complain about it— it was truly an incredible experience!! All six bedrooms had a great view (not very comfortable beds, though) and the kitchen was to die for. Although we had most things catered, the kitchen was completely stocked. No need to buy anything like olive oil or sugar. Since it's the honor system, we left things like unopened cereal and coffee beans. The pool and hot tub were great (we had the pool heated). There really was not another person or house in sight. Only 10 forks, which was unexpected, but their daughter brought us some more. On the third day, for some unknown reason, the hot water broke so we had to get by without because there was no way to get a plumber to come in the middle of nowhere on Mother's Day. The hosts reimbursed us a reasonable price for this, so we are happy. All in all, a great spot! Hope to return!

Lee was very helpful in answering any questions i had about the house leading up to our stay. He was very easy to reach and replied very quickly. We wanted a home that could hold all of our family members coming from all over the country for our pepperdine graduate. The views were spectacular and the house was plenty big enough for our large crew of adults. It had everything we needed in the kitchen, plenty of towels and all instructions were thorough. The ONLY thing an eldery person would even have an issue with is the amount of stairs leading up to the house and the house being 3 levels. It was fine for our eldery grandparents, but they are definitely agile and do not use canes or have difficulty walking. Otherwise....I highly recommend this home for the large space, amazing views and only being about a 15-20 min drive down the canyon into the heart of malibu and pepperdine.

Let me start by saying this is an absolutely amazing property. The views are unmatched, the pool and jacuzzi are a dream. Decorated beautifully throughout, with impressive art pieces throughout the home. Every room is impressive but the kitchen is a literal dream. It is very well equipped for every level of chef. My favorite part is honestly the honor system. Due to the location of the house, it can take a good 20-25 minutes to get to a grocery store etc. So they do have many supplies to help you avoid having to run out the store. You can then leave some cash in a lockbox in the kitchen to help replinish the supplies. Very considerate! This brings me to literally the best part of the house. Let's face it, even the nicest house can result in a terrible stay if the hosts are not good. Steve and Lee are literally the most accommodating hosts I have met. We held an event at the house and they made it so much easier than most. The welcome packet that they send alone puts most hosts to absolute shame. Everything you could possibly want to know is provided in a Google Drive folder of documents and PDF's. These docs not only explained how everything in the house operated, but they went even deeper. They provided a list of common and approved vendors for any need you might have, a list of stores and restaurants in the area, hiking trails, activities in the area, and house photos. This made being prepared for the visit extremely easy. I highly recommend this house & Steven and Lee!

The view was so incredible! We had the pool heated and enjoyed the warmth during the chilly and cloudy days. The hot tub was so wonderful as well. Most of the beds were very comfortable! LOTS OF STAIRS to get to home and throughout it so keep this in mind if bringing elderly or children. I loved the built in espresso maker every morning! Guests leave behind lot of sharable pantry and liquor items, so that was nice to partake in and contribute to. Drive to the house is tricky but only because it was raining so much during our stay and there were lots of mudslide and rock issues. GET the insurance for your rental car just in case!!! Otherwise, it was a very FUN drive in my opinion. Town is about 25 min down, but does not feel far at all. We ate at Dukes, Malibu Cafe and Nobu! I HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation for Nobu and ordering Omakasa style (chef's choice). The home has some clutter that was unexpected, especially in the home office. Your first impression feels like you are in someone's office, with things stuffed out of the way. Several cluttered closets and curtained off areas, but seems like the cleaning crew may be just stashing supplies wherever there is room. Toilet bowl cleaners and icky plunger next to toilet in master kind of takes away from the beauty of the bathroom. This home is "loved" and worn in more than the pictures depict. Some of the furniture is very different than in pics, lie sitting area in master is now a L-shaped, plain couch with stains and doesn't quite fit the motif. My first impression was, this isn't what I thought it would be because the pics are so perfect and edgy. It took about 10 min to realize that this home is so freaking incredible and the outdoor amenities, view, comfortable upstairs beds, and being able to clearly see Malibu pier from the back yard make it PERFECT. Just have a forgiving eye to loose drawer handles, cleaning products, and pain chips from the wear and tear of how much people love to rent this haven. Realistically, if it were in perfect condition, then nobody would be living in it or it would be 3 times the rent. I sang Backstreet Boys songs constantly annoying everyone because this home used to be owned by AJ. I would definitely return to this home. Steve and Lee are great hosts and really want you to enjoy your stay.

What a great place even during the worst storm California has ever had!! We used grub hub a lot because the roads were so wet and stormy. I recommend the pizza and Greek place near by. The owner of the house is AMAZING and so attentive. The heated pool is a life saver even during extreme cold weather. It was like a big warm bath tub! I highly recommend it !!! Would def come back. A big group of us stayed here for a bachelorette party, and it was amazing. Views were impeccable, so much to do at the house from the pool to bbq to trampoline flips. It was a blast, highly recommended.

First off, you will not find a better view, no matter where you plan to travel. The house is nicely updated and well maintained. The property exceeded all of our expectations and we have no complaints. For a group of 14, we had more than enough room. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an absolute blast celebrating a birthday with our closest friends. The home is immaculate and had plenty of room for all of us. The pool and fire pit and the views were all amazing. The pictures truly don’t even do it justice. It’s a trek getting up and down the mountain, so plan accordingly, but it’s very much worth it. Lee and Steve were wonderful hosts and were so helpful. We hope to one day come back and enjoy these peaceful vibes again.

The property managers were extremely helpful. But saying that we had ants all over the counters and the walls we had to clean it up every day they were in some of our food that we had to throw away. We also seen mice which definitely freed some of us out. But the mouse droppings in the pantry were horrible. I know they had a exterminator come in but this was the bad part of our experience there the views were beautiful and the hikes were really nice but that was mainly the best part of the entire house. Whoever does clean the home I think they need to get a new person we found blankets and sheets rolled up in drawers outdoor furniture is old. And the laundry room had sitting water in the sink and a very horrible smell coming from the machines. The house was definitely big enough To accommodate our family I just wish we didn’t have to experience all those other things. The management company as nice as they were on the phone, stated they would reimburse me for one day but I haven’t heard from them since.

This property was dreamy , Lee and Steve are super accommodating and kind ! I would love to stay again. This house has lots of stairs and incredible views , if your looking for a retreat it’s the perfect place !

We rented this awesome home for the bridal party of our sons wedding to start off the wedding celebration right! We arrived the day before the ceremony and the pool area and views are incredible. The wedding was at a venue down on Malibu beach then we headed back up to the hill top retreat for the rest of the weekend to continue the celebration. The home has absolutely anything you could need. Very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Views from every room but we were only in the house to sleep as you just don't want to leave the pool area!! We also took advantage of a few hiking trails for more incredible views! We rent many properties on VRBO and Lee and Steve are top notch hosts! Thank you for offering your home up for us to experience. It made the wedding weekend unforgetable!! Bob & Stacey Clark

The home is absolutely beautiful. Lots of room for 12 people. Pool and spa were also a plus. Make sure you go to the store before you go to the home. The road to the home is scary especially at night but beautiful views during the day. The only bad thing I have to say is the house gets a terrible smell which seemed to get really bad in the morning. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for sharing your home. Overall, my friends and I really enjoyed our week-long stay at this house. As others have mentioned, the views are spectacular and the house is perfect for entertaining. It also met our needs for sleeping accommodations (there were plenty of comfortable spaces to sleep for all 11 of us) and offered lots of areas for guests to be alone if they wished to do so. The host is very responsive, friendly, and helpful as well. A couple of things I'd like to point out is 1) The last quarter mile or so of the road leading up to the house is really rough, with uneven pavement and some sizeable potholes that were challenging for our cars. Once you get past that, however, the rather steep driveway is in perfect condition and fits a number of cars easily. 2) There are some updates in and outside the house that are needed in order for the house to be truly 5 stars in my opinion. INSIDE: the built-in Wolf coffee maker system does not work; the Viking fridge's water dispenser and ice-maker do not work and are covered by a piece of paper and some tape; the dishwasher in the kitchen makes a loud clanking noise when you open and close the door; and the ceiling fan in the primary bedroom does not work. OUTSIDE: the internet was unreliable outdoors (we brought our own wireless speakers and tried streaming music and frequently had to reset the router); one of the umbrella stands was unstable and the umbrella was bent on one side; all 3 circular cocktail tables near the pool were warped (one side of each was bent downwards, perhaps from exposure to the sun?); and the outdoor patio speakers attached to the house were non-functional. Of course, none of these things "ruined" our stay. I just think they're worth noting. As I mentioned, we really enjoyed our stay at this unique and beautiful house and would highly recommend it to others in need of a relaxing get away with gorgeous views.

We enjoyed 5 days in your beautiful home while we were in Malibu for our son's wedding. The views were breathtaking and the accommodations very comfortable. We loved the spacious kitchen and enjoyed the hot tub and pool. It was the perfect place to return to after wedding festivities to relax and enjoy family. You were correct, the road up to the house was an adventure!!

This was an amazing VRBO! The best VRBO house we have ever booked! There are gorgeous views and it is so spacious. The house is so well stocked and was perfect. Our daughter got married in Malibu and this house served our family well! I would definitely return! Thanks so much!

This property was beautiful. The space in the home was perfect for our family of 10 spring break getaway. The beautiful views and peaceful quiet/isolation were amazing. The host was always quick to respond to questions or concerns. The location was great and less than one hour drive away from most things we did. The only negatives I would point out is the drive up to the house and some updates that are probably needed. It is a pretty high, steep drive that was initially worrisome, especially at night, but over the course of our week's stay, we got used to it. Be aware that there are lots of stairs in the home. If you have small children or those who are unable to climb stairs, it will be difficult. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

The property had everything we were looking for. The pool and hot tub were heated and we hired a chef per the recommendation of the owners. she was fantastic.

We were a group of 8 cyclists that came to train in Malibu for a week. The house had everything we needed. The spa and the pool were amazing as we recovers from days on the bike. The kitchen was very well equipped and we had a great time making our own meals. Somethings in the house don’t work great (coffee machine, wifi, reception, ect,) but it’s nothing to worry too much about. Overall I recommend for those coming with a large party.

When you need to stop and truly take in the beauty of the moment- this is the place. Impossible to describe the views and yet fills your soul. Breathe! Just Breathe! Amazing! Thank you for being great host.

The house was gorgeous. We reserved the space to have a small intimate wedding with our closest family, and this house could not have been a better fit. We had 15 guests staying with us and I was a little concerned that we would feel like we were on top of each other, but that was not the case at all. Everyone had their own space and shared areas were plenty large to accommodate everyone comfortably. The backyard was stunning - the views are to die for and pictures don't do it justice. Our wedding was outside overlooking the ocean, and we could not have been happier with our decision to have it at Lee and Steve's place.
