We had two families renting Casa Flormar for a friend's birthday celebration in Playa Negra! We cannot say enough good things about Casa Floramar. While I know that the rental doesn't allow for children any longer, this was perfect for two families! Each couple had a perfectly furnished master with full ocean views and en suite bathrooms. The children were then able to have the other two rooms!! The amount of common space was amazing, room for everyone to spread out and have their own space! The kitchen was perfect! It included everything we needed for our stay, and easy to find. We ended up cooking a lot of meals at the house so this was helpful. There was also so much space for eating, that it was nice and all visitors were comfortable. The outside common space with the pool and swinging chair were a highlight. Each morning, I sat on the outside couch, drank my coffee and watched the waves! Afternoon cocktails flowed while we lounged in the pool! And night swims happened nightly! LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! We are surfers, and it was an easy few minute walk down to the beach to surf, for hours! Then head over to the local hotel for afternoon cocktails. Finally, what may have topped off the entire trip was our amazing concierge, Zoe. We started really communicating a few weeks prior to our arrival. She stocked our entire house with all of the groceries that we ordered, during her grocery store trip she would send me pictures of various items to make sure they were the ones I wanted, and also to get opinions on other items. All of the produce she chose was PERFECT! nothing went to waste! She also set up all of our activities during our stay, which included an in house massage, zip lining, boating, etc.! We constantly asked for additional things during our stay and she immediately responded and hooked us up! She made the stay so easy and comfortable! Zoe's bright attitude from the minute of our arrival until we left on departure day, completed a perfect vacation! We will definitely be back to C

What a view! This place add the best view of the surf at Playa Negra which made our trip incredible. Eating breakfast watching the surf. Huge infinity pool great for the family. AC in bedrooms but not in the common areas, which was a bit of a bummer and forced us either outside or into the bedrooms. Wish the whole home was air conditioned. They well kept path to the beach sets off the experience so well! They beach is clean and very few people. The water is clear and beautiful; stunning! The house as a whole could use some cosmetic updates for this price point. However, juxtaposed to the other properties in northern Costa Rica, it's really nice. Zoe, the property manager, was extremely helpful and hospitable. Would love to come back! Again the view is to die for!!!

This house is stunning and one of the best that we have stayed at in Playa Negra. The location is perfect as it is only about a 7 minute walk to the Playa Negra Hotel. My husband is a surfer so we enjoyed watching the surfers from the deck! We travelled with two families so we had 4 adults and 3 kids. I would say that the layout would probably work better for just couples. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs (only one with an ocean view) and one downstairs unattached from the house. So the parents downstairs were far away from their kids room. Zoe the house manager is awesome and will help with anything you need. We had a chef come a few nights which was incredible and we also went to Villa Deevena two nights (highly recommend this restaurant). Just a few things to keep in mind… there isn’t any air conditioning in the main family room and kitchen. There is only air conditioning in the bedrooms. Although it didn’t bother us too much I could imagine if you came during the hot season it would be uncomfortable. There is also a lot of construction going on all over Playa Negra right now so it is kind of unavoidable but just realize that you might hear construction noise. We will definitely be back and had a great trip!!

This house exceeded all expectations! It was beautiful and the service was amazing! I cannot wait to get back here and stay in this outstanding home. The views, the rooms, and proximity to the beach are the absolute best! Thank you for a wonderful time!

I honestly recommend to stay at Villa Floramar. Besides the fact that the house is beautiful, very well maintained and fully equipped, the setting is gorgeous!!! Playa Negra is one of the most beautiful beaches and its only steps away from the house. The owner Denice is super nice as well as Zoe, the manager. They were always available and service was more that great. You couldn’t ask for a better vacation! Go for it!

Stayed with 7 dear friends at Los Pargos. Marvelous home with beautiful common spaces. We sat on the veranda by the pool all day and night. The sunsets were breathtaking and the stars at night were more plentiful than I’ve ever seen. The home is remote but with the chef, Camille and our concierge, Zoe, we had every need covered. We recommend renting a SUV and going to Villa Deevena (a 5star restaurant 1 mike away) and Lola’s on a nearby playa. Time passed unreasonably quickly. We all adored our stay.

This was our second visit to Floramar and we love it. The house is truly amazing and the location does not get any better. I am reluctant to write this review because part of me want to keep Floramar and Playa Negra a secret. It is that special of a place! Denice and the staff accommodated our every need and we had an amazing time. We will be back. Pura Vida!!

Our return trip to Villa Floramar was as great as our first time visiting about 2 years ago. The house is perfectly located on the beach which gives you front row seating in a large infinity pool to some pretty amazing surfers and some of the most incredible sunsets! Fabrice did an excellent job as always coordinating all of our activities as well as transportation and dinner reservations. Camille and Pascal provided all of our breakfasts and several lunches during the week which were delicious and cooked up an amazing New Years Eve dinner! We will definitely be back!!!

This house delivers everything and more. We celebrated my husbands 60th Birthday at Villa Floramar. There were 7 adults and this place was perfect. Plenty of room and plenty of places to sit and nap! The view of the infinity pool, ocean, and surfers was mesmerizing. I would also, recommend hiring chefs Pascal and Camille. Their food is outstanding! My husband is a little picky, but after the second meal he had completele trust in them. They aim to please. Fabrice, house manger will line you up with the best fishing trip, boat tour, massage therapist or anything you are wanting to do in Costa Rica. He is also available for you at anytime! Having 4 hours of maid service a day is the best! The garden and pool guy was like clock work. He was always on time and kept everything beautiful and working! My husbad is already planning our next trip. You will not be disappointed!

Where to start?- First of all, this lovely home is everything you see online and so much more. You truly get what you see in these beautiful pictures and the video. The infinity pool is absolutely stunning and we lived in it when we were at the home and not out on our adventures. We took to heart others reviews here when they said they wished they had used the chefs, Camille and Pascal, more- we did!!! These amazing chefs cooked all of our breakfasts and almost all of our dinners during our eight day stay. You cannot go wrong. Not only are the two off the chart chefs, they are SO nice and SO creative in their services. Always a unique table setting using local nature finds such as shells and flowers, beautiful table cloths and napkins just always took the experience to the next level. The food was impeccable and they catered very well to dietary restrictions. The rooms were beautiful and the home has so much space to spread out or be together. Our daily maid was very nice and always did a wonderful job, as did the pool boy who cleaned the pool daily and kept the gardens beautiful. Access to the beach was right there, we enjoyed many sunsets on the beach or from our balcony each day. The walk up to the Playa Negra hotel was merely minutes- our children took surf lessons there and enjoyed it greatly. The small town outside of the closed community was very inviting, we spent time at the local bar and pizza spot ( Buena) - good food and cool drinks and super friendly. Stay at this amazing home! Hire the fabulous chefs! You cannot go wrong at Floramar! My own personal slightly negative was the concierge, his level of service wasn't on par to this home or the chefs, so my only advise here would be not to rely too heavily on his services. - but do not let that distract from this home and all that it has to offer.

Upon arrival we were anxious to see if the house lived up to their pictures. In the past we had been disappointed. Not the case with Villa Floramar. This house far exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were perfect. The attention to detail shows the owners love for their beautiful home. We spent most of our time in the gorgeous outdoor space. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, relaxing, swimming and just hanging out. Pascal and Camille cooked divine breakfasts and dinners, best meals we had all week. We were sorry we didn't book them for more. This home was by far the best we've rented thru VRBO!

Everything about this house is perfect. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, the staff is helpful and efficient and Playa Negra is nothing short of amazing. Worth every penny!!

We visited this wonderful property July 16-23, 2016. We had a total of four couples and everyone loved the place. From the breathtaking views, to the infinity pool, to the early morning walks on the beach, we had a great time. Camille and Pascal are terrific chefs! After they prepared our first meal, we asked them to come back again and again. In total, we had them prepare six meals for us and everyone of them was fantastic. There are also some nice restaurants, from pizza to ribeye's very close to the property. We spent two afternoons at Lola's having a few drinks and fish tacos. It is only a short distance from the house and the place is a lot of fun. I highly recommend Floramar! Dewey Wahlin

The property and the views are stunning! Camille is an outstanding chef and made breakfast every morning, which was a wonderful treat! Fabrice is warm, friendly, and was extremely helpful in enhancing our stay. The beach is wonderful for morning strolls but not for swimming due to the strong waves and current. But it was so much fun to watch the surfers early in the morning from our terrace. We didn't realize that it was going to be so hot during our stay (high 90's) and the main level was at times very uncomfortable. We wish there could have been a few more fans or if the fans present could have had stronger/faster settings. But truly, our stay was pretty close to perfect and we would absolutely recommend this property to our friends.

We just spent a week at Villa Floramar and had the time of our lives. The house is beautiful and location is spectacular offering great views of the ocean as well as amazing sunsets. Upon arrival we were greeted by Fabrice and Patie who did an unbelievable job coordinating our activities and meals for the week. In fact, some friends of ours who were staying in Tamarindo joined us for Easter and they put together an excellent 3 course dinner for all 20 of us with Patie serving as the head chef. The home is very well equipped and the wifi worked great all week. Most of our time was spent enjoying the beautiful views, watching the surfers on the adjacent beach (which is easily accessible from the property) and taking in spectacular sunsets while floating in the large infinity pool. We did venture out a couple of days to go fishing and hit up the adventure park in Rincon as well as enjoy a couple of dinners in Tamarindo (about 30 minutes away), but for the most part we were perfectly happy hanging around the house most days. This was our first visit to Costa Rica but I can assure you it will not be our last. When we return, Villa Floramar will be a our first choice of places to stay!

What a great out of the way place, a wonderful property, beautiful beach, and amazing sunsets. Fabrice was very helpful with all the arrangements and Pascal and Camille were equally Amazing We will be recommending Floramar to all our friends.

Well, if you are really in need of being treated like you are at a Ritz Carlton in Costa Rica, then this is your place. I will tell you that the photos are exactly the same, but way better in person. Denice, the home owner, had a call with me at first to see if this was a good fit for both of us. The beach directly in front of the house is dark lava rock....not good for sun bathing but Denice explained that. And why hang out there when you can be in the amazing pool! We had 4 little ones with us ages 4-7, and the favorite sunset activity was searching for hermit crabs at sunset. they are everywhere! The house manager Fabrice is amazing- both very tentative and on top of things, but by no means invasive. He recommended Lola's to us- a super cool local bar/surfer spot/ fun hangout, as well as a boat tour to see Howler monkeys, crocodiles, birds and other fun wildlife. I could have watched the howler monkeys for hours! Camille made breakfast for us every day, and dinner one night. I HIGHLY recommend both- but she made this salted caramel chocolate dessert that is about the best dessert I think I have ever tasted in YEARS! I can go on and on- I got engaged at sunset on the balcony, and have to say that this experience just meant the world to me. But back to the important things you may want to know... Everything is top notch. Towels are from Restoration Hardware. The wine glasses are very nice if you prefer wine- they have a wine fridge if you want to keep your red wine at the right temp. Every small detail is considered, and you just cannot expect to find this all around ***** 5 star treatment just anywhere. We will be back, and I hope this review is helpful for you as you pick. We are so so so thankful for our amazing time. Thank you!

Nous avons passé deux semaines dans cette superbe maison parfaitement aménagée et décorée, rien ne manque. Les chambres et les salles de bains sont parfaites. Ce furent des vacances de rêve pour toute la famille, nous étions 9. Patie et Fabrice nous ont accueilli dès notre arrivée et ont été très professionnels tout le séjour et les petits déjeuners et repas réalisés par Camille et Pascal, un enchantement pour nos papilles. Le Costa Rica est une merveilleuse destination, la nature est belle, les gens sont adorables, la plage et la mer sont sauvages et très propres. La vue sur la mer qu'offre la villa, ses terrasses, sa piscine transparente, son jardin, sa petite descente à la plage bien entretenue est exceptionnelle. Tout a été parfait tout le long du séjour qui nous a paru trop court, mais nous reviendrons, nous l'espérons. Evelyne et Jean Jacques, Bénédicte et Urvan, Cédric et Rosa, Margot, Dorian et Briag les trois enfants qui ont passé leur temps dans l'eau.

I took my family - wife, 4 kids and son-in-law - to the home for a Christmas week vacation this year. It was my first time to Costa Rica and also my first time renting a home via online booking/listing. I was somewhat nervous about what I would experience. Was the home as nice as it appeared online? Would the beach turn out to be as good as it appeared? How about the area and activities? The whole experience turned out to be beyond my expectations. The owner of the property was very easy to contact/friendly during the initial phases (payments,etc.). The home was exactly as depicted and is really gorgeous. It is well finished and well stocked with everything you could need (from towels and boogie boards to floating pads for the pool, dishes in the kitchen, board games, poker chips, etc.). The home has quite good internet (3-5 mpbs) so my family of social media addicts were able to get their fixes. The beach is really nice. It is quite rocky right in front of the home but this provides a lot of tide pools which my daughters enjoyed exploring. One of the best surf breaks is just 100 meters down the beach and we enjoyed watching expert surfers all day. Another 200 meters down the beach is a wide, sandy beach where we spent a lot of time and boogie boarded, took surfing lessons, etc. I like that the sandy beach is down a ways as the crowds are non-existent right behind the house. But you only have to walk 2-3 minutes to get to the beach. The home came with a complimentary concierge service - Patie and Fabrice. They were wonderful both before and during our stay. They were very helpful in booking us day trips to zipline, snorkel and deep sea fishing. The are both extremely attentive but not overbearing - only a phone call away. They stopped by multiple times during the trip to check in and were also available when I had questions about the property, a light bulb went out, etc. The home came with daily maid and yard service which was fantastic. Finally, Fabrice and Patie made us aware of an in-home catering service - PASCAM (stands for Pascal and Camille the French owners of the service). We scheduled 3 dinners and two lunches and to be honest I wish we had scheduled them for virtually all of the meals. The prices were reasonable compared to restaurants in Tamarindo and the food was far, far superior. It was a fantastic week, fantastic owner, wonderful concierge, great house. We hope to be back!

This oceanfront villa has it all -beautifully appointed rooms decorated with taste and care. Everything is of the highest quality, from the furnishings and appliances to the amazing swimming pool and deck area. It truly has to be seen to be believed!! I can't wait to return and would honestly recommend this property to family and friends.The villa is literally 20 steps away from a gorgeous beach, great for surfing,swimming, walking or just relaxing on the beautiful,well appointed deck watching the pelicans fish for their dinner! There are quite a few really lovely restaurants, from the family friendly Hotel Playa Negra to the more upmarket Villa Deeveena. Great little pizza places too! Best thing about this property though is the care the owner has taken to make sure you have options other than restaurants -her team were also available to provide breakfast (the breakfast tipico is great,giving you a true taste of how the locals eat) and catered dinner -food and service were both fantastic and worth every penny. One of my favorite moments was drinking a cocktail whilst sitting in the infinity pool watching the most incredible sunset! This property personifies Pura Vida and I can't wait to return!!

we had a great time watching the surfers on Playa Negra. Bed rooms are fantastic,everything is new and furnished with a lot of taste and care. We spent more or less the whole time on the terrace enjoying the view and the sea breeze, from time to time swimming in the great pool or in the ocean.

There are only good surprises regarding this property! The pictures accurately reflect the listing with more beautiful details not shown. It was immaculate again with attention to detail. The customer service was outstanding and a highlight of our stay there. I'd highly recommend this property to friends and relatives and would love to go again with them. This is definitely my "happy place" that I have so many fond memories of. Many walks on the beach in the morning and by starlight. It was nice to see the surrounding area. We took several enjoyable short drives to local villages and nearby beaches. There were many great places to eat - Hotel Playa Negra only a short walk away, Lola's, Villa Deevena to name a few. Buying local ingredients and cooking in the lovely kitchen was also a treat. I am looking forward to returning again soon!

There are only pleasant surprises with this listing. The desciption and photos are accurate with so many more lovely details. The property was immaculate and expertly cared for. The customer service from Denice and the property managers were exemplary providing more than expected. I would recommend this property to friends and want to go there again with them! There are so many things to see and do. Walking the beach in the morning and by starlight. We enjoyed short drives (roads can be bumpy!) to local villages and beaches. The restaurant selection is great - Hotel Playa Negra, Lola's, Villa Deevena and even the local pizza places were very, very good. I am looking forward to my next trip there!

Amazing location and views. House is perfection-every amenity has been thought of and in pristine condition. Setting is peaceful and great for relaxation. Outdoor areas are spectacular and even feel like you are outdoors when inside due to the open concept and all the windows. Sheer oasis
