This was a great place to stay so clean and updated. Close to lake placid and the view is stunning. Communication with the renters was excellent too. Will be back to this one for sure.

The property was beautiful just like in the pictures. Communication with the host was great she was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. The views are just breathtaking. Thank you for a great stay!!

Great property. Plenty big for our group of 7. Beds were very comfortable. The view was amazing. The kitchen seating is great for visiting. Was a treat to have hot tub and sauna. Was perfect for our first post-COVID lockdown trip.

The house was perfect! Clean, organized and well stocked with everything you need. Close to hikes and trails, Lake Placid and the small town of Wilmington. The view from the house was breathtaking! We will definitely be back!!!!!

This was a great place to stay with a great view. Centrally located in the Lake Placid / Wilmington area for easy access to many activities. The only reason I rated a 4 is the place could use a quieter a/c (mini split) trash cans in the rooms, and light bulbs that actually make light. Other than that the house is nice and roomy, we had 10 people.

Cons, which didn’t deter me from giving five stars: * Not shown in pics is a neighbor, another rental. You are separated by a little land, but you can plainly see them, and they, you. The house basically shares a driveway w/ a dirt road leading to a parking lot for the wildlife refuge/a fishing access trail. If you’re sitting near the front door, you’re going to see cars pulling in/out often. Although you do feel sort of tucked away, it’s not total privacy or seclusion. * We put sheets on the couches because we brought dogs. We probably would have done this even if not required because the couches are worn. They’ve been used, obvi, and that’s ok! But if you’re hyper-aware of the germs/dirt/buildup left on fabrics, you’ll want to cover them, too. * If your pets bolt, bring a gate to keep the porch enclosed. A loose dog would definitely be in danger bc the high-speed road is right there. * We gated off the basement, too, where the rooms are carpeted, to avoid our dogs smelling/adding to previous potty accidents. * Lots of bugs; so many bites. Bring spray repellent & itch relief. * You’re going to have to do some clean-up upon departure; prepare for a checklist of your expected contributions to the turnover of the house. And so many pros: * The view is unreal: uninterrupted Whiteface; no humans, houses, roads, etc. in sight; best view from a kitchen sink I’ve ever seen. * The wildlife refuge is a 2 minute walk away and such a perk. * So much to do right nearby: trails, gorgeous river, fishing, climbing, twisty-turny roads. * Wilmington, tiny little town, is 5 mins down the road; good for essential supplies, restaurants, Whiteface access road. * Lake Placid (charming, tourist friendly, far less secluded) is 20 mins away. * No baths here, but the showers/water pressure were the tops. * No shortage of kitchen utensils. We made pie, cake, sushi, breakfast every morning. Their kitchen had nearly everything we needed; we over-packed. Bring your fancy knife, a nonstick pan, and you’re golden. * Sauna worked perfectly; hot tub worked perfectly. * Fire pit was great. * Beds were super comfy. * Recycling! * The house has clearly been treated well/been well-maintained. I appreciated the many reminders from the owners to show the property respect, as you would your own home. Prior renters treating the home respectfully, properly + the owners maintaining it, too = totally evident. * Still thinking about that view... magnifiqnue!

Great family weekend getaway. Lookout Mountain Chalet provided an amazing view of Whiteface Mountain. Four bedrooms with TV’s, 3 bathrooms, a hot tub and sauna... what’s not to love ? Was not able to utilize the outdoor fire pit due to weather/time restraints, but it looked incredibly inviting. Short drive to Lake Placid . Overall it was exactly what we needed. Thanks Todd and Kim !

My wife and I stayed at this property for a long weekend with our friends who got engaged on the trip. The photos from the engagement are amazing. The mountains in the backdrop are jaw dropping. The house itself has all the comforts you want on a vacation. The bedrooms are all large, with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are spacious as well. Everything worked well and the extra amenities (hot tub, sauna, washing machine and dryer) were a huge bonus. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation home to stay for an engagement weekend.

Our stay at the Lookout Chalet was a wonderful family trip! The house was very clean, well stocked with all the essentials for cooking, the large island was perfect for group meals and playing games, and the bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable! The view from the deck and hot was amazing, and the fire pit was the perfect size. We will definitely be staying again!

My family and I had a great time staying at 3 Otter Chalet Way. What a fantastic view of Whiteface and the ski slopes. It definitely had the out in nature vacation that we were looking for. Plenty of things to do in and around the region...hiking, shopping, golfing, white water rafting, tubing, kayaking, relaxing, and yes the daily bon-fires to end the day. The bonus was the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge located right next door. Lake Placid has plenty of things to do as well. We did have some rainy days and were stuck inside, but we just made the best of it and played bingo and games and it was one of the best days. The house is beautiful and holds 12 people comfortable. We cooked a lot and just had a GREAT time.

We stayed here for Christmas. Cooked a full Christmas dinner for 8. The kitchen was fully equipped. The views are stunning. The location is minutes from Whiteface. It was very clean. We did have an issue with the oven. The element in the oven stopped working. I called the caretaker and they came with two counter top ovens and a rotisserie. Next day a repair guy came and fixed the oven. Their response was fantastic. The house is roomy and comfortable. The only negative i can say is the sofa needs to be replaced. It was a little old and not at all comfortable. But the beds were heaven. So comfy and cozy. I would highly recommend this property! We will be back!

We just celebrated my moms 63rd birthday at this property! We had a great time, and ohhhh, the views; so beautiful! The house fit our big group of ten comfortably and the giant island in the kitchen was great for a family dinner. It’s only 20 min to downtown Lake Placid. It was a nice surprise to be walking distance to the wolf/bear preserve also. We would definitely recommend it!

A beautiful home for nature lovers and photographers. Beautiful views with hiking trails steps away. A great place to unwind and recharge. The most comfortable bed of any rental we’ve ever stayed in.

If I could give this place 100 stars I would!! It exceeded our expectations! Everything was top notch, and the BEAUTIFUL views were unreal! We will definitely be coming back!

We had a great experience at Lookout Mountain Chalet! The home is beautifully maintained and the views are fabulous! It’s a great location to go out and explore many different areas and then come back and relax in the hot tub and cook a nice meal. We also enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and roasting marshmallows with our kids and my parents. The kids (ages 15-2) all enjoyed the house and time spent in the Adirondacks and keep asking when we can come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed the beautiful views. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The sound of the wolves from the wolf refuge added to our mountain experience. Wonderful home to rent.
