Huge home with lots of quirky charm. Ernie was so great to work with and knowledgeable about the history of the home and area. Kids had a blast skiing and playing in the snow in the yard. Great place for a big group :)

Great stay we hope to be back

We had a great experience at this property. We were a very large group, 6 families, 12 adults and 17 kids. This house was able to accommodate us easily. Think it literally came down to using every last bed but still felt very roomy. We didn’t even have to use any of the multitude of couches. We had an age range of kids from 5 to 20. The house was great for sharing with all these people as it contained multiple living rooms and shared spaces, 2 TV rooms, another living room with bar area and also a game room. We never felt like the kids were on top of us as they had plenty of room to play away from the parents. The house is over 100 years old so it has a lot of history and character. It was really a unique accommodation and we loved it. It has a spot for a fire pit in the yard that we took advantage of one night and plenty of parking. I would fully recommend this house for a big group rental. Ernie the owner is a Hunter Mountain native and was always available to answer questions and help us with anything we needed which wasn’t much.

We had a cousins weekend with humans of all ages. The little kids loved this house. Toys, games, lots of things to look at and corners to hide in. Ping pong and air hockey were fun. They cried when we had to leave. The bedroom layout was great. Room for everyone. En suite bathrooms made life much easier. Beds pretty comfy. The bedrooms smelled a little weird. Chipped walls and peeling wallpaper. But you can tell the place is loved and cared for. The floors and rooms in general were immaculately cleaned. We had a crawling baby and had no worries letting her scoot around. Ernie came to visit. He was super friendly and responsive. He brought us propane so we could cook burgers on the grill and replaced smoke detector batteries in a snap. Really nice person. Our last night there, we watched the MTV reality show that featured the house. We took shots every time someone hooked up in our bedrooms, every time the guy from Hoboken said something cringy, etc... It was really funny. Highly recommend.

Thank you Ernie for hosting us in this beautiful house in a perfect location. We have kids from 3 yo to over 15, and everyone can find a place to rest, chill, and have fun. The numerous showers and bathrooms make this former inn really unique and perfect for groups like us. We cooked everyday in the kitchen and out on the grills and it never felt cramped. Loved that there are seating for more than 16 ppl either in the dining room or out on the court yard. Ernie is quick in communication and is only minutes away to bring in supplies. Ernie is also a great local resource. We followed his tips and had a great time at local swimming holes and waterfalls that are otherwise not well advertised on the trail map websites. The house is surprisingly close to everything - the hiking trails, lakes, grocery stores are all within 15 minutes drive. There is a ATV rental literally across the street that was a lot of fun.

We loved our weekend at this property! We had 20 people and there were more than enough beds. The house is spacious. Loved all the cool trinkets sprinkled around the house. Highly recommend for large groups!

We had great time and enjoyed our stay. The house is huge and perfect place for large family gatherings. We cooked. grilled, had campfire, played and had lot of fun. Ernie was. a pleasure to work with, promptly answered all the questions and was very helpful.

House was very clean and lovingly decorated - you notice something different each time you pass through a room. Owner is welcoming and responsive. Would highly recommend. Thank you, Ernie!

Very cool property with plenty of room, plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms. Everything except food was supplied, propane, firewood for fire pit, paper products and very clean. Ernie was an extremely responsive host and all 20+ of us would all stay again!!

This was an amazing house for a large Boy Scout Troop ski trip - the house was impeccably clean, HUGE and the owner ( Ernie ) is wonderful, welcoming and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of the house and area. The air hockey and ping pong table were great for the boys Apres Ski ! Woul Highly recommend.

The house is huge! Plenty of space. Some of the TVs didn't work but we got by ok.

We rented this property over Columbus Day weekend to celebrate the 70th birthday of many in our group of 15. The 9 bedrooms & 8 bathrooms were just enough to accommodate everyone. The house was huge with room for everybody to spread out. Ernie was a great host & responded immediately to all questions & concerns. The location was great. We spent a day at the local Arboretum which was wonderful. Just make sure you get a map so you don’t miss anything., especially the labyrinth . Another day we walked the rail trail out to the falls. It’s an easy walk but muddy in spots so dress appropriately. The town of Tannersville has shops & restaurants & is worth a stroll. We also were lucky to catch the fall foliage at its peak. Our only regret was that it rained at night & we were not able to enjoy the fire pit in the yard. Thank you Ernie for a wonderful weekend at your house. We would definitely recommend it for any large gathering.

Most importantly the property was exactly as advertised. Clean, convenient, and comfortable. Ernie was very accommodating and responsive. The entire process was seamless from beginning to end.

This is a great property for the large group that we had. Some of the bathrooms are quite small or narrow, and there were some minor amenities missing such as shower caddies. A few of the bathrooms appeared to be old closets converted into baths. It shows its age of 130 years by many of the floors not being level on the first floor. The owner came over and gave us a brief history of the property. He was very responsive to our needs and any issues we had. He even warned us of the impending rain storm that was to hit the area in case the power went out. Would definintely recommend this to a large group or multiple family outings.

Ernie was prompt and clear and understanding in all our pre visit exchanges. The location is gorgeous. It was a wonderful getaway.

This place is in a great location and is bursting with personality. It easily accommodated 10 adults and 4 kids with plenty of beds to spare. The kids loved the game room, the adults loved the bar, and we all loved the fire pit! And best of all, the house is super close to Kaaterskill Falls, North-South Lake Campground, and Hunter Mountain.

We stayed at this location with 20 people and everything was great! Ernie ensured we had everything we needed, and there was SO much space for all! Highly recommend if you have a large group!!

Beautiful house with plenty of room for me my wife and our 13 guests. Would highly recommend this house, the large amount of bathroom really makes it suitable for large parties.

My Fiancé and I decided to have a combined Bachelor/Bachelorette Party and this house in this spot could not have been better. We had a total of 19 people stay comfortably and had plenty of room for activities. We were able to play games and interact with each other when we wanted to and get our own space when we wanted just guy time or girl time. The owner of this property (Ernie) was the most accommodating owner that I have ever experienced throughout all of vacation stays. He answered my questions quickly, he gave us a nice history lesson of the property, and he told us about all of the best outdoor locations to check out around the area. Overall, I'd say this is the best whole home rental I have ever experienced. Definitely stay here if you have the numbers and are looking to stay in the catskills. You will not be disappointed.

The house is big and had plenty of rooms to accommodate all 24 of us and 4 dogs. There was enough room for alone time and the two swings at the terrace definitely give you that warm countryside feeling. This is an old house and most family members agree that some of the mattresses need changing. Overall our stay was really fantastic and Ernie was one of the best hosts we’ve ever had. We’ve been doing this for ten years. Highly recommended- also don’t miss a visit to Colgate Lake and enjoy a picnic with the best ambience. Mary

We had a wonderful stay at Ernie’s. This place is huge and is perfect for a big group of family/friends. Check-in/check-out was a breeze & communication was great! Thanks for being a great host, Ernie (& mom).

We were a total of 6 families with teen kids, going out after 15 months of being locked in. We decided to have fun during the Memorial Day weekend and had reserved this vacation rental home. Although we were rained in for the first 2 days, this house was the highlight of our trip. We had to literally explore the house when we first reached there (it is huge!). Awesome family room, entertainment room, game room, diner like kitchen/dining set up etc. It is an awesome venue to hang out with your dear and near. And Ernie is the best host you can ask for. Very very patient and prompt to attend to all our questions, prior to the trip as well during the trip. And always willing to help. I would go here any number of times if I get the opportunity along with my friends and family. Thank you Ernie!

We were 12 people ages 25-57 and the property was excellent.(everyone had negative COVID tests before gathering). Enough space to gather all together but then plenty of space to retire in privacy. Very convenient to skiing hiking in a very pretty location. Ernie was fantastic, very responsive and available. Highly recommend for your large gathering!

Overall the place has plenty room and very comfortable areas. Plenty space in the kitchen and dinning area. My family Felt like we were at home with all the amenities provided. I woild strongly recommend the place to my friends.
