A pleasurable weekend away! Nice private beach. Enjoyed sitting on the back deck and the large windows facing the bay. Enjoyed kayaking and fishing on the pier. Close enough for a fun day trip into DC. Lovely restaurants in nearby Solomon Island. Would stay there again.

The house was spacious and super clean. Lots of windows with beautiful views. Found lots of shark teeth. Loved the showers! Appreciate the owner having a pack n play, baby gate and baby chair. We had a 1 and 2 year old so had to move some of the breakable items out of reach. The stairs to the beach wore this grandma out though.

The house was very well maintained, beach access and views were wonderful. This location was very quiet, and if you are a nature lover this location is perfect. Many miles to walk and explore, lots of birds to watch. Very enjoyable weekend. Hope to return.

Beautiful house! We wish we could have stayed longer. Views are amazing. Especially enjoyed watching the sunrise over the bay from the master bed.

Nice house with a great view. I don't usually get up to see the sunrises when on vacation, but it is worth it here. Nice walk on a quiet beach just steps from the house. Short drive to downtown for anything you need, restaurants, shopping, fuel, ect.. Communication with host was very easy. Everything was clean and as described. Close enough to Washington D.C. for a day trip, but far enough away for a quiet relaxing vacation.

We love staying at this comfortable and spacious beachfront property. It was our second time here. Alicia is wonderful to deal with.
The views from most every room are spectacular. The kitchen is big for cooking family meals and has all the equipment you will need.
The bedrooms and living areas are comfortable and welcoming. The shower in the master bath has the best view ever!
Our main activity is fossil hunting and the kids and adults collectively found over 50 (mostly tiny) teeth in two days.
You can walk a good distance on the beach at low tide.
It's truly a beautiful location.
There's also a fishing pier that's fun for the kids.
We had a terrible weather weekend, unfortunately, but had quite a show watching the Chesapeake tossing and turning with big waves.
Despite the weather, we still made a drive to Solomon's to visit the Calvert Marine Museum, which we also love.
This house is quite a find and we look forward to renting it again.

What a magical weekend! Just as listed - beds were comfy. Kitchen was well equipped from baking to roasting. Wifi signal was strong enough for Minecraft matches for the boys. But the views of the bay and the endless beach were the real stars. our dogs loved the beach and slept well after all the fresh air. Found a few teeth, built a fort, had some mores at the fire pit. Can’t say enough - and can’t wait to return!

We had the pleasure of spending our Thanksgiving at this lovely home. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. The home is well appointed, cozy yet roomy, clean, and well kept. We had everything we could possibly need to prepare and cook our Thanksgiving meal. The views from the home of the bay are absolutely breathtaking. We had nice walks on the beach and were successful in our hunt for shark teeth, ray teeth, and unique sea shells- a big hit with my kids.We felt immediately at home there and the atmosphere of relaxed intimacy was perfect.

I hate to leave a good reveiw because I want to keep it a secret! My family and I had the best time at this Magical Bay house. We did not leave the whole weekend. The house was very clean and cozy, it felt like home. The veiws are amazing, it was so quiet and peaceful! We spent hours and hour on the beach finding shark teeth, amazing fishing on the pier. We can not wait to come back. I will be booking many future trips here! Alicia was a wonderful host!

Not only was the location gorgeous but the home was very comfortable and cozy.
We enjoyed grilling, swimming, long walks on the beach and nearby trails, kayaking, fishing off the pier, and getting delicious carry out from Jerry’s Seafood. Most of all though, we really enjoyed the long weekend of quality time with family in such a beautiful setting. I could not recommend this place more. And the host, Alicia, was very responsive and helpful. Already looking forward to going back... excited to see other seasons.

Wonderful time again.
We visited for the first time in 2019. We finally were able to come back again. We love the house! It’s so familiar now and just feels like home away from home. Neighbors are so nice. We were also blessed with a fireworks show! So happy to have been apart of that! Definitely a favorite place of ours.

More than magical…it’s memorable.
The only negative thing I can say is that we didn’t stay long enough. I wish we had booked this home for a longer stay. We know without a doubt that we will return. The home is gorgeous, the location is perfect, the accommodations were comfortable and the owner was super easy to work with and contact. I’m extremely thankful for our time spent here. We’ve made memories that we will treasure forever.

Wonderful long weekend!
My family of 5 had another fantastic getaway at this beautiful home on the Bay. The view cannot be beat, and the kids had a blast romping around the beach that is steps from the home, and fishing from the private community pier. The kitchen is very well stocked with all pans, utensils, and seasonings that you may need to allow for a comfortable stay. The owner is very responsive, and can’t wait to go back soon!

Beautiful Chesapeake Home!
This home and property is beautiful! The directions are easy to find--and the private Governers Run community is very special. The home is clean, comfortable and the views of the water and the beach are ever changing and lovely. The eagle created us the very first day! Although the million old cliffs will call you to walk everyday---do not miss hiking on the very special Chestnut Land Trust Trails which are also accessible for the property. What a special ecosystem. ---a special vrbo home. Do it!

Charming house with a gorgeous view
We absolutely loved the house and the amazing view from it. From the upstairs bedroom you could watch the sunrise over the bay as you woke up.
The house was very well appointed and well furnished. We cooked and celebrated our Thanksgiving meal there and were not wanting for anything.
We also ran into the neighbors while walking the dog on the beach. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Alicia is a great host and we would definitely choose to stay here again.

Beautiful views close to the city
This was the perfect weekend getaway for two families of 3. It was a short drive from DC, but made us feel completely removed from the city. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises each morning from the porch and the private community beach. The well-stocked kitchen allowed us to cook dinners at the house and we enjoyed nearby lunch spots on the water. The bay was beautiful and still warm enough for our young son to dip his toes for his first beach experience. We hope to come back again when we have more time to enjoy all that this home and its location have to offer.
