We loved our stay at this wonderful Quinta and wouldn't hesitate to come bac!. It has the most amazing views... Pictures do not do it justice. We were here in early April and enjoyed the start of spring with lots of beautiful flowers and delicious fresh oranges (and fresh eggs straight from the chicken coop!). The home is spacious and has lot of storage and all kinds of extras. As a family we loved playing pool and having a big telescope to view night sky was a huge hit! The pool was still quite chilly but some of us got in on a beautiful 78f sunny day. We grilled outside on the open fire most nights. It was a great base to explore the Douro Valley along with day trips to Porto and Pinhao. Our hosts Pedro and Guillermo were wonderful to work with and very responsive to any of our questions. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to come back some day!

The highlight of our trip! Even though we were a little early in the season, the coziness of the property, the surrounding area, the amenities, and the views were all top-notch. Such a wonderful place for kids and adults alike. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here with another couple for several days during a trip through Portugal. The view from the property is world class. The house itself is a timeless treat with plenty of things to explore and enjoy. We found ourselves not wanting to leave the property, and we took advantage of the garden and wine produced in the vineyard to make meals at the house instead of going out to eat (there is a nearby grocery store). On top of this, our hosts were friendly and accommodating and made it smooth and easy to stay.

Fantastic property with beautiful view of the river and valley. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend this property. Our host welcomed us with a bottle of wine from their vineyard, oranges from the tree outside the back door and loaf of local bread.

This gorgeous home on a working vineyard met all of our expectations. The view over the stunning vineyards down to the Douro Valley is magical. The home is large and comfortable and has all you need for a relaxing stay. The host was lovely and responsive. We will return for a longer stay!

We absolutely loved it.

We had a "too brief" stay here with our two adult children and one of their partners. We were blown away by the views as soon as we arrived! They definitely lived up to the pictures on the listing. Guilhermina and Pedro were very quick to respond to any questions and Alexandra did an excellent job introducing us to the property, with Pedro on speakerphone to explain everything in English. We really enjoyed picking and eating fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden and even retrieved a few eggs from the hen house. We would LOVE to return one day for a longer visit!

There is no better place to call home while exploring and soaking up all the Douro Valley has to offer! We recommend it. And we would stay here again, in a heartbeat! Thank- you for sharing your lovely home!

Dejligt hus i rolige omgivelser. Super dejligt at man kunne bruge alle husets økologiske frugter og grøntsager, dem havde vi virkelig gavn af. Specielt appelsinerne. Huset er godt indrettet, men inventar og havemøbler er dog godt slidt. Køkkenet er vældig godt udstyret. Komfur, ovn og opvaskemaskine samt vaskemaskine er af ældre dato og trænger bestemt til en opgradering. Pool og udeområde er spektakulært. Hvilken udsigt !!!. Vores værter var søde, altid behjælpsomme og til rådighed hvis vi havde spørgsmål. Vi kunne ikke ønske os en bedre vært. Stedet producerer i øvrigt deres egen vin, og den kan vi virkelig anbefale.

Second time staying at this property. Owners are very accommodating. Everything we needed was on hand including picking oranges from the tree for fresh squeezed juice every day. Be sure to check out the notebooks for what to do and where to eat!

I am normally loathe to give superlative evaluations on vacations homes, because there are always issues, big or small, which prevent such assessments. The stay at Sao Tome de Covelas, hosted by Guilhermina Castro, is the exception. For anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful, relaxing and comfortable holiday at a functioning and fully equipped farm house and farm ensconced in winding hills, with a panorama to take your breath away, this is the place for you. This is a rare case of advertising pictures not being able to reflect the beauty of the place. We took long walks in the hills, savoured the house wine and enjoyed visits to communities. and cities, nearby and far. The house is equipped with all amenities and supplies - including a greeting basket of fresh vegetables - ensuring that one is immediately comfortable and feels at home. What to say of the hosts? Guilhermina and her son Pedro were without fail, present, helpful, courteous and gracious, making this one of the best, if not the best, holiday we have ever had. I write this review with some trepidation, for I fear that the next time we will want to visit the premises will be fully booked. Nevertheless, noblesse oblige, I must assert: this is a marvellous place to stay, in the care of hosts that will do the utmost to make your experience worthwhile.

Très belle propriété typique du Nord du Portugal avec une vue magnifique sur le Douro depuis l’espace de vie, les chambres et la superbe piscine. Un jardin au top au milieu des vignes, vergers et potager. On a adoré (les jeunes comme les moins jeunes). On y retournera!

We really love this amazing and beautiful organic winery with its own pool. We can really recommend the place highly. This is the 2nd time we visit the house. The house has the most beautiful location in the mountains of the Douro region overlooking the river. The beautiful view can be enjoyed from a wonderful terrace where there is sun all day long. The house has several terraces and gardens, all of which are very beautiful. There own Pool garden with sun loungers where the beautiful summer days can enjoy in peace and quiet. The house is fully equipped with everything you need. This Quinta is a working winery and farm. It is wonderful that they allow you to harvest from their farm. We enjoy lettuce, potatoes, onions, herbs, garlic, cherries, strawberries, blueberries and fresh eggs. They also produce their own vinho verde which tastes great and I recommend buying a few bottles. There is a supermarket and bakery approx. 10-15 minutes away by car. The owners are very sweet and helpful. A good piece of advice - use the GPS coordinates when you need to find the house. We will definitely be back again.

We had a fantastic stay in the house that really offered everything. Most of all we enjoyed the stunning view of the river Douro from the different terraces. We had difficulties finding the house, but the owners were very supportive. It was a pleasure picking up fresh eggs and fruit every morning and vegetables every evening - not to mention the bottles of the white wine of the vine yard. We can warmly recommend this house!

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour dans cette maison confortable et très bien équipée, à la vue époustouflante. La piscine est géniale, et le verger/potager nous a bien nourris! Guilhermina est adorable et nous a très bien accueillis. Réservez cette maison, vous ne le regretterez pas!!

Mini férias magníficas! A casa, a propriedade circundante, o salão de jogos e, principalmente, a piscina e as vistas...excederam as nossas expectativas. Um agradecimento especial à Sra. Guilhermina por toda a sua simpatia e disponibilidade. Uma excelente experiência a repetir num futuro próximo!!!

Um espaço muito agradável, com uma vista arrebatadora sobre o rio Douro, ao final da tarde, com o sol a pôr-se e o Rio “aos nossos pés “ é lindoI... O verde da quinta, o silêncio apenas cortado pelo chilrear dos passarinhos e o som da água a correr nas bicas, tudo se conjuga numa perfeição. Numa palavra: imperdível!...

Een geweldig huis met een adembenemend zicht op de Douro. 's Ochtends pluk je de appelsienen vers van de boom naast de ontbijttafel om ze te persen voor het ontbijt. Voor een vers eitje erbij maak je een kleine ochtendwandeling door de wijngaard naar de kippenren. Onderweg kan je de sla en de tomaten plukken voor bij de lunch of het diner. Afkoelen kan bij het zwembad terwijl je af en toe een cruiseboot ziet passeren onder je. Even ontspannen met een potje tafelvoetbal of een rondje poolbiljart kan ook in het poolhouse. 's Avonds kan je de maan zien opkomen van achter de bergpas aan de overkant van de vallei. De gastvrouw en gastheer zijn enorm vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Niet twijfelen!
