We had a lovely time in this home - the location is great and the yard and access to water is even better. Given the price point, however, there were some things that could be improved. Examples include no sponge to wash pots/pans in the kitchen, no shampoo in the guest shower, no regular salt for cooking (only large crystals of sea salt), and an uncomfortably firm mattress in the master bedroom. All small things.

This house on San Juan Island was a great choice for our family vacation. The house was large enough to comfortably accommodate 4 adults and 3 children, and the yard was big enough for the kids to run around outside. We enjoyed watching the nightly visits by the deer through the large picture windows. I enjoyed coffee on the back balcony/porch in the morning. We plan to come back again.

The house is comfortable and in a beautiful location. We had a great time. We have some recommendations to improve the experience for guests. The alarm outside went off during the night and early morning, waking us up. Needs to be attended to, bathroom hand towels and wash rags soiled and worn thin, toilet in one bathroom broken. Although it was fixed the problem continued and toilet kept running which triggered the alarm. The refrigerator does not close tightly.Think these are minor improvements, but if attended to would enhance the experience of your guest so they would not have to be inconvenienced. Thank you

We came with a boat but had no buoy or dock to keep it. We would have liked to check the house if it met our needs. This was not possible. We would have discovered that the access to our boat would have been through dinghy and thus a problem. The overall stay was good

Great house with large yard and beautiful views.

Our family stayed here for our niece’s wedding along with all the festivities included. We took family pictures in front of the water, enjoyed our coffee on the deck and burgers at the picnic table. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Owner was available and she left a notebook full of information about the Island.

We enjoyed our stay with family at this home. It is even nicer than the pictures show it to be. Karen was easy to communicate with from start to finish.

Thanks for the great stay Karen! The location was great and San Juan is a special place. The house was clean and took care of our needs. The check in emails provided two different lock box codes and we could not get the lock box open. But once we discovered the issue, and tried the second combo, the check in process was easy.

The house was just perfect for our needs. We loved kayaking in Garrison Bay.

The location of this property was nice and quiet. The yard was large and had a nice view of the bay with a fun fire pit. Our check in process was poor without a working code and no key left inside. The welcome binder was very disorganized and the wifi password was crossed out multiple times. The pillows were very flat and uncomfortable for our family/friends. And the multiple signs (everywhere) regarding the drought and water usage was a bit excessive. We can be mindful and responsible with just a simple statement in the listing regarding the issue of drought and water consumption. Overall the home and binder need an update!

The location of the house is wonderful. House interiors and appliances could use upgrade. During our stay dishwasher was broken so we could not use it. Living area is poorly lit. Kitchen utensils well stocked.

This beach house was a great find! The house was clean and located in a very quiet location. Kitchen is stocked with anything you need dish/utensil/appliance wise to make your own meals. There is a fire pit down by the water with plenty of places to sit. Check in/out process was a breeze. Would recommend this home to anyone staying on Friday Harbor. Thank you, Karen, for providing such a great place to get away from the world for a bit!

Overall it was a good stay. Found someones under garment from previous guest in queen bed room. Really need to do some basic maintenance on the place. But looking past that, we had a good stay. Had a wonderful time hiking and wandering the island.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy house near Roche Harbor. We brought kayaks and paddle boards and enjoyed the access to the outdoors. The communication with the property manager couldn’t have been easier.

House had everything we wanted. It is in a very quiet and peaceful spot. We were sorry not to be able to use the soaker but understood the reason due to the drought. We had a great time.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute beach house. Everything was wonderful except for the horrendous mosquitoes. We had to run to and from our car when leaving for outings because there were swarms of them. I know this is not the owner's fault, but it did impact how much we could use the backyard.

We loved the place . We had a baby bambi that hung out on the lawn eating in the morning and evening. The only downfall was the mosquitos were horrible so we really could not enjoy any out door time. We were hoping for out door meals and hang out by the water but it was not doable. I am not sure if there is some type of a spay for the lawn etc to help but was a bit disappointing that we could not enjoy it more. We did have our own bug spray but nothing seemed to help. Perhaps we were just in a big hatch time. Over all the property was very nice and comfortable.

Had a fabulous time staying here over July 4th with my husband and 3 kids. Local food and people were so friendly! Brought our inflatable stand up paddle boards and paddled around the bay several of the days. Nightly deer sightings were so fun!

Every morning and night various deer and fawns roamed through the backyard, which was quite a treat for our little kids! Speaking of little kids, there are white carpets here, which made us a little anxious (especially at mealtimes) but we managed to get through the visit without incident. Check in and check out were super easy and we even called the owner once to re-up on propane and she appeared in seconds flat! Directly across the bay is the historical "English Camp" with its billowing UK flag and knowledgable park ranger who introduced us to the "third largest broadleaf maple in the world." Good visit despite some challenging weather, and bad luck on the whale watching boat. The resort wasn't sharing their pool access due to COVID restrictions and the giant bathtub was off limits due to drought conditions but in normal times either would be a huge plus. Highly recommend this rental!

Nice quiet location. Lovely view of the water. Overall well stocked but some minor maintenance/stocking issues that aren’t atypical of a rental property. The kitchen could benefit from a cookie sheet. Also it was very warm when we stayed and one of the bedroom fans was broken. The right side burner on the grill seemed to be not working properly. The property manager was very responsive whenever we called. Overall a good vacation house.

It was nice to have a home away from the busy harbors. Highly recommend a visit to the San Juan islands.
