More than once someone in our group said “magical” in describing the location and views of The Sanctuary. It is wonderfully isolated yet close to stores, restaurants and attractions if that’s what you are looking for. We look forward to returning!

House was clean and spacious. Pool was clean and well kept. Had all the amenities we needed for our week long stay.

This was our second visit to The Sanctuary, and it was one of our best vacations ever. The pool was absolutely perfect. Everything was immaculately clean. Joan and Pete are gracious owners and want you to enjoy your visit. We don't think you can find a better property to spend your Florida vacation.

This place was clean, quiet, and right on the water. We are able to enjoy canoeing, kayaking, biking and walking in this quiet neighborhood. The pool was beautiful and heated! The property inside and out was beautiful and there were many places to eat and drink close by. We can't wait to stay here again!

Peaceful and quiet stay - just what we were looking for. Immaculately clean. And the river made for a nice canoe trip.

This lovely home continues to be one of our favorite vacation destinations. It is well kept, comfortable and has all the hallmarks of a relaxing vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool area. The kayaks and canoes were great for exploring and fishing. We walked each morning on the quiet roads. The house is stocked with everything that you could need for your stay. The owners provide excellent communication and are highly responsive to emails/texts. We will definitely return.

Beautiful home, beautiful property. We had such a relaxing time and saw so much wildlife in the yard, marsh, and along the road. It was peaceful, tranquil, and exceeded our expectations. Thank you for allowing us to stay and enjoy The Sanctuary! We love Homosassa!

This was a great property for our family. Close to boating, great restaurants and peaceful.

This property has it all. Location is great, secluded and private. Deer and turkeys in the yard daily. Multiple fishing locations from the dock to the nature trail locations. Our kiddos loved the pool and the view from the pool deck over the marsh is post card worthy. The house had everything we needed and more. Have a little one? They have a high chair and pack n play already there. Plenty of space in the driveway for boat and trailer too. We will be rebooking for 2023!! Thanks Joan & Peter!

We have stayed in a lot of vacation rental homes and I can honestly say this is the first time that the house and property FAR exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and in great condition. The pool was perfect and entertained my kids for hours each day. My favorite part of our stay was drinking coffee every morning on the dock while watching the wildlife - one of the highlights was when a dolphin very briefly visited the little cove by the dock! We had some fun on the kayaks and bikes, did a little fishing, played a little horseshoe, and got in a lot of much needed relaxation. The kitchen was fully stocked with any appliance and gadget you could need. The owners were very nice and helpful. They communicated everything we could possibly need to know days ahead of our stay - which I very much appreciated for planning purposes. And the location was excellent - only 10 minutes from the wildlife park -- which we all loved -- and under 15 minutes to the grocery store and an ice cream shop. Plus there were a lot of local restaurants nearby. I really hope that we have the opportunity to return for another vacation in the future because we all fell in love with this place!

Words can not do this place justice. It is the perfect holiday get away surrounded by nature. Joan was always helpful with any questions we had and fast to answer. The house and pool were spotless and we loved everything about it. I hope we can come back one day!

The excitement started when we pulled into that impressive driveway and continued as we entered the house to see the swimming pool and beautiful view out the back. We loved walking the paths to the river and picking oranges and grapefruits off the trees. We found the kitchen well stocked and the home comfortable for two children and three adults. Swimming in a nearby river with the manatees was a highlight! Fond family memories were made here. Thank you Joan and Peter for sharing your home.

Bath towels have seen better days but that’s not a big deal. They were clean. There are also pool floats available to use.

Very nice property, clean, neat, very quiet area. The unit was very comfortable,pool was nice but couldn’t use it due to the cold weather. The house was very clean, I would suggest some updating in towel, bedding and kitchen supplies. Maybe some fresh landscaping to enhance the outside, looked just a little tired. The owners were very helpful and easy to communicate with. We had a very nice stay and serve our style of vacation vey well
