I was in Lub d 7 years ago when it opened in Dorm rooms and it was excellent. I went back for a second round and I really regretted it. Good: The location is excellent and a young atmosphere and a good level of cleanliness.

We asked for some decorations in the room for our anniversary, they answered by email positively and excitedly. But in practice the room was standard without any decoration. A relatively small room, no view from the room. On one side they are building, on the other side the cleaning twam are loud and wake you up in the morning, the cleaning team entered our room even though there was a sign on the door not to enter.

Clean, modern design. Great pool area: always busy, but always a place to sit or lay out.

Beach is almost nonexistent - great to look at, though.

Lub D is in a great location but the beach is not as it seams and most the seating has no cushion you have a mattress and 2 towels. No hand towels. Staff are amazing and made me feel comfortable. They have construction going on from 7am in the morning on the left side of the building which combined with an aircraft taking off every minute is pretty bad noise. Charging 40 bhat for water is a joke especially in a hostel type hotel that is the price hotels in the uk charge. Over all i would prefer to check out socialtel due to the location being a tad better but no beach which is fine as chaweng beach is for losers make your way to choeng mon beach much better beach hence the $200 plus hotel prices. Overall $80 a night is not worth it for these rooms maybe the hostel side might be worth it its a clean place so if u want to stay somewhere clean this is prob best/cleanest hostel.

Constant smell of indian food outside due to indian restaurant next door indian is spelt with no capital letter as it doesnt anyone that drink cows urine does not deserve any respect! Strong presence of Indians! Most seats have no cushion especially in the room! Construction and constant flights taking off is annoying! The swimming pools barely get any sun!

Very noisy from loud music, loud construction work and noisy guests in hallways knocking on doors and screaming. Was here for 2 days after travelling for 24 hours and I regret booking here.

Mega clean and such an inclusive vibe! Food gorgeous and staff amazing!

Nothing it was a belter!!

Incredible place for party! If you have between 20 and 30 years old, Lub D is great to meet new travellers. There is always something going on such as beer Pong, pub crawl, welcome drinks and games for new guest so it Will be easy to meet new people.

The place is great but a bit expensive.

Tudo muito moderno e confortável! Vale a pena!! Fiquei com pena de não conseguir um quarto individual mas os dormitórios são super confortáveis também. Staff super prestável e simpatico.

Pedem um valor muito alto para shuttle do Porto até ao hostel (700bth), o que para uma pessoa que viaja sozinha é muito caro (vale a pena se tiveres um grupo). Se vieres através do ferry podes pedir shuttle à empresa do barco e levam te por 150bths. O ar condicionado nos dormitórios e demasiado alto (frio) e não dá para regular - passei algum frio.

Location

We had a very comfortable stay at lub d. The room was comfortable and clean and the front desk staff were very helpful. Lub d also ran activities so that we could get to know other people staying there. The hostel was in a very central location and right on the beach.

It was quite noisy at night.

Friendly energetic staff, beach side hotel, fireshows there were beautiful, walking distance to everything in Chaweng Beach. Book the King SeaView room

Construction is going on next door so just be aware of that

I was a bit ambivalent about this hostel/hotel. On one hand location is good, and rooms ok. But there are a lot of "buts": - dorm beds ok, but the curtains don't close all way, so lack of privacy, and too much light while sleeping - there's a restaurant, but food wasn't great, quite bland - shared bathroom not super clean - overall, pretty expensive for what they are offering

Good location close from many restaurants.

1. Breakfast is too expensive in terms of the portion. 2. The bathroom and vanity space has bad AC or plumbing and have a bad smell all the time. 3. Laundry machine is only located in only in the building 2 and you need to get a key to access there if you are staying at different building. 4. Not enough number of beach front daybed. 5. AC in the room has bad smell.

Rooms smelled terrible, dirty towels, dirty beds, dirty pool, lot of noise, people get drunk all the time, overpriced for what it is

Didnt try the breakfast but the lunch was not good. So oily and tasteless.

Ambiance

Wow! Highly recommend Lub’d! This property is RIGHT on the beach and has two pools to relax in. It has more of a hostel vibe which we liked. The property has a welcome “party” every afternoon where new guests can participate and win prizes! I, luckily, won a 3000 baht bar tab! Amazing! There’s an on-site restaurant/bar. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

The restaurant was pricier than restaurants outside and the scooter rentals were way overpriced. We paid 280 baht/day when outside the hotel they were 150 baht/day. If renting I’d recommend checking outside first
