We had a great time at this beautiful home in the woods! Very close to Norwich University (go Cadets) and an easy drive to Burlington, VT too! We would not change anything....in fact, we are already planning our next stay. No reservations highly recommending this rental to anyone!

This place is so comfortable and the view is breathtaking. We practically lived on the glorious porch and my kid had a blast running all around, exploring the property. It is incredibly peaceful and beautiful here.

Where do I even begin to start with how wonderful this property is?! We came in early afternoon on a blue sky day with fresh snow on the ground. The property is down a back road, tucked into the woods. There are still homes around, so you don’t feel totally secluded, but they are far enough away so you still feel like you’re in the woods. The house was unbelievably clean-from the GORGEOUS, “top of the line” State of the art kitchen to the master bathroom (with a Two person tub!-it was like a mini indoor swimming pool!) There was ample seating area for everyone to have their own space both at meals and during relaxation. The fireplace in the main room was breathtaking-something out of movies! our 18 mos old LOVED walking the property. Lots of trails and land to explore on. Also, sugarbush is only a 30 min drive away! We definitely want to return in the future-what a hidden VT gem. In the winter, i would recommend having a 4-wheel drive car, but because there is so much snow... but that’s not just for this property. That is VT in general. Thank you for sharing your home! My husband, daughter and I stayed at this house for 17 days prior to dropping her off at college. We had to self-quarantine for two weeks. We spent a lot of time researching places to stay given the length of time we would be spending in the house. This house fit us perfectly. The outdoor porch is the perfect place to read and share meals. The living room has lots of space to spread out and relax (the couch is awesome). The bedroom situation worked perfectly as our daughter could escape to her space in the basement, and we loved the master loft. The property is peaceful, relaxing and beautiful. Watching wild turkeys was a bonus. The owners were incredibly helpful, prompt in their responses, and kind.

We had a wonderful stay at your home and would return in a heart beat. Couldn't ask for anything, your kitchen was fully equipped and the place was spotless. The fireplace was magnificent and everyone slept well. Was the perfect home to come to after a full day of skiing. Many thanks to our hosts and for letting us enjoy your slice of heaven.

This was our second trip to this property, and my family is already talking about returning again next year! It's obvious this home is maintained with great care, and it shows down to the smallest details. The home has everything a family would need to snuggle in, unplug (if you want too) and relax. Our favorites this year included the outdoor fireplace, breathtaking walks around the property with foliage approaching peak and games by the fire after dinner. It's also worth mentioning that the owner is quick to respond, flexible and very easy to work with. We are looking forward to next year already!

That title is misleading given that we have only stayed here twice but it does reflect our feelings toward this wonderful home. We have stayed here while visiting our son at Norwich University and now that he has graduated it is unlikely we will return. The home has every comfort you would want and is approx. 20 minutes from Norwich. We enjoyed cooking family meals in the fully stocked kitchen. The Weber grill was put to good use as steak is always on the menu for our son. Every visit we comment on how nice it would be to have our own family vacation home like the Roxbury house but why bother when you can rent this one! I must mention our favorite feature - the wrap around deck with outdoor fireplace! We spent every evening on the deck with a fire and making s'mores! Great memories were made at this home.

We are wrapping up our stay at Mary & Jay's house and none of us want to leave! It's obvious as your feet cross the threshold for the first time that an immense amount of love and care built this place. This home is fully outfitted with everything you can think of needing to relax and enjoy time with your family. It's extremely clean and meticulously cared for in every way! The beds are super comfy with top quality linens. The bathrooms have plenty of soft, fluffy towels. There is a large, very well equipped kitchen and plenty of lounge space for all. We LOVED the outdoor fireplace and the secluded property - especially the owls serenading us in the night! Booking and last minute questions were a breeze as Mary was very responsive and helpful. We are already looking forward to a return trip and can't wait to come back!

This is our second time staying at Mary's property. This place is wonderful and an excellent deal. It's a little off the beaten path, but totally worth a short trek down a dirt road. Great kitchen, great fireplace inside and outside, and a huge open yard.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house felt even larger than I was expecting, and was very comfortable for two families on a long weekend. Lots of sleeping space, great big living room with awesome fireplace, very well-appointed kitchen. Mary and Jay were super responsive. Jay even drove 2 1/2 hours to help unstuck our car and help us thaw out our frozen ski rack! I'd highly recommend this house in all seasons, although do be aware that the drive to Sugarbush in the winter can be pretty treacherous -- not for the faint of heart! But you can always stay at the house and x-country ski or snowshoe on the lovely large property, or just sit by the huge fireplace and watch movies or play games. Can't wait to go back!

i cannot say enough good things about this house. The house is in immaculate condition and gives you the true VT feel. It snowed the whole time i was there which i loved. There is plenty of room and the layout of the house is good. The indoor / outdoor fire place is amazing, as is the wrap around deck. The house is on a nice big property and is about 20 min away from Sugarbush, which is a great mountain for Ski. We practically had the mountain to ourselves during the week. The house is remote so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. i cannot wait to go back to this house for another trip and the owners Mary and Jay are wonderful to deal with as well. i cannot say enough good things about my stay here

All the comforts of home. That's what you can expect when staying at Mary's beautiful home. The home is designed for family style living. Our stay was during Family weekend at Norwich University. It's a short drive to the school from Mary's home. The area is very secluded up on the side of the mountain in Roxbury. Four years we have traveled to Norwich and Mary's home is the most comfortable home we have had the pleasure to visit. The extra attention to details is absolutely amazing throughout the home. Especially the kitchen. Its stocked for the most experienced cooks. Gorgeous home, spectacular views with an indoor and a outdoor fireplace that will create great memories and warm your hearts. I highly recommend Mary's home and have booked our next stay. Thank you Mary

Mary's house was absolutely beautiful! The house fit our party of 10 very comfortably. The house is set on a gorgeous Vermont mountain and the views were spectacular sitting on their wrap around porch. It is conviently located in the middle of 2 towns and was a short drive to Sugarbush for us to go and ski. If you are looking to spend a nice quiet weekend in a secluded Vermont cabin you really can't go wrong with Mary's place. We will definitely be using Mary's house again the future!!

The pictures don't do justice for this charming mountain retreat. The breathtaking views were incredible and the condition of the home exceeded our expectations. The home was immaculate. We had 3 couples staying and there was plenty of room. The master suite is in the loft and has one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The linens were qood quality and there were plenty of white plush towels. Our favorite part of this home was the wrap around porch with the outside fireplace. We were visiting family in the area for a family reunion and choose to rent a house over a B&B and was so glad we found this home. The attention to detail amazed us. There was even a welcome basket with Vermont maple syrup, pancake mix, and maple flavored candies. I really wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend this home.

Such a beautiful home! This was our second stay at this property and we returned for so many reasons. The kitchen is lovely and fully equipped, which is rare in my experience with rentals. The huge covered patio with a large stone fireplace was where we spent the majority of our time. The beautiful, quiet mountain setting was perfect for our family gathering; the yard and pasture behind the house was great for wildlife viewing and lawn games. You couldn't ask for better hosts/owners, they are gracious and accommodating.

We rented the house for parents weekend at Norwich University, with extra days either side. It was cool enough to enjoy both the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The views of the mountains and fields are so beautiful. We were lucky enough to have the wild turkeys come up and eat the windfall apples from the trees in the yard. The owners truly make you feel like family. They left plenty of firewood as well as all the paper products, laundry detergents, dish soap, etc. that you could need. The house is built for entertaining with several wine coolers, beer fridges, wet bar, etc. The glasses, silverware, plates, serving dishes, are all first rate. We cook ALOT and I was in heaven with TWO ovens, extensive bakeware, and all the kitchen gadgets you could need. FYI - the chefs knives are in a drawer built in to the Emeril cutting board..... I highly recommend this property.

We had a great time at the house. Our group went for a family wedding. There was plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen was fully equipped for cooking all meals.The deck is amazing, enjoyed many meals outside as well as fires in the evening. We even saw a moose on the property!
