Excellent property, in a great town centre location. We will be back.

The property has many pros and a few cons.. Pros - It ideally located close to Dartmouth Harbour and the town centre. - Close proximity to shops and restaurants. - The house is immaculately clean and modern. - The kitchen is well-equipped with high-quality appliances and crockery. - The bathrooms are very clean. - The top-floor bedroom has superb views of Dartmouth Harbour. - The owners are very helpful and quick to respond to queries. Cons -The rooms are small and we kept bumping into furniture. - The stairs are very steep. My father-in-law had the downstairs bedroom and he struggled going up and down the stairs every day. -The top-floor bedroom has a low-pitched roof. I am 5ft 2 inches and my husband is 5ft 6 inches and we both kept banging our heads on the ceiling, when getting in and out of bed. - You are required to clear all rubbish from the property. Dartmouth Harbour has black bins which we put our rubbish in. On the whole it is a clean, modern smart property with beautiful views of the harbour and helpful owners.

Lovely property, living accommodation is spacious enough for 4 adults, ample space in bedrooms and lovely sea views. Conveniently situated within easy walking distance to amenities. We pre booked parking at Sainsbury’s a 30 minute walk away (down a very steep hill) but there are regular buses into Dartmouth town centre from outside Sainsbury’s. There are a couple of car parks in the town but do your research on overnight parking etc beforehand. Paul was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Regular contact to ensure an enjoyable stay. Cannot fault at all, we had a lovely few days at The Bolthole.

Was comfy fun and beautiful

Perfect little place for the three of us. Husband and 12 year old. We had the top floor which was lovely. Agree the steps are steep and you do need to mind your head once at the top but we were ok and he’s 6 ft 2. We slept with the doors open. On one side of the room there are two comfy chairs where you can watch the lovely views of Kingswear and the various boats going up and down the Dart. 12 year old had the first floor bed and was very happy. The beds were comfortable. We only used the first floor shower room and the water is a great pressure. The kitchen well apportioned, overall really pleased with the stay. Location perfect.

The property was clean, well presented and had everything we needed. Communication with the owner was prompt, considerate and really helpful. The house is clearly well maintained and has the feel of somewhere in which the owner feels real pride. It is genuinely a home from home. The arrangement of rooms worked really well. The property is close to the center of Dartmouth and though there is no long term parking outside the property it really wasn't a problem. We would definitely stay here again.

Great weekend all round. Property located really close to all the local amenities. Perfect for the 3 couples. Finished to a high standard with everything you might need for a holiday in Dartmouth. Good communication by the owner.

Beautiful property including all the bits you might need in the kitchen too which was helpful. Not great for tiny kids i imagine as the stairs are incredibly steep. We had a lot of banged heads on the sloped ceilings on the top floor so you have to be careful but i imagine that's the same for all the properties in the area. The basement room is lovely - it's not like a normal 'basement'. It's not stuffy or cold or unpleasant, it's lovely and cosy with it's own en-suite bathroom. The house is absolutely lovely - the only thing i would say to plan for is the shared space. The bedrooms are all a great size. The kitchen and living room though are very small so not very sociable. There were 5 (3 adults and 2 kids) and we could just about sit round the table for dinner but it's not comfortable for sitting for any length of time so we brought some cushions upstairs to the top floor and recreated a little living room up there. The views are much better anyway. The views from the top floor balcony are phenomenal and we were lucky enough to see a couple of chinooks fly by during our stay too! Would definitely return!

Good communication prior to holiday, beautiful 3 doubled bedroomed property with amazing views from the top floor. Brilliant location, couple of minutes from the river dart right in the centre if Dartmouth.

We organised a quick trip to Dartmouth where we keep our boat. Paul and Karen were extremely helpful and the property was lovely in a great location with a great view of the river from the top floor

This beautiful property is located within very close walking distance to Dartmouth Town Centre. Waking up to the views from the top floor bedroom balconies made our visit a truly memorable one. Plenty of shops/cafes/restaurants/bars within easy walking distance (be sure to book ahead during the busy summer months to ensure a table for dinner). There is a Co-op within a five minute walk and a large Sainsburys and Lidl within a ten minute drive. We dropped our luggage off using the one hour parking opposite the property and then parked at a private location just outside the town using the ‘YourParkingSpace’ app. with a one off payment which meant we didn’t have to worry about our car or car park fees during our stay. There is so much to see and do right on the doorstep, using the foot/car ferry and steam trains that we didn’t need the car all week. The walk up to the castle is beautiful and if you are fairly fit you should push on to Sugary Cove for a dip in the sparkling clear water there. The Devon pasties and Sausage Rolls from the castle cafe are absolutely delicious! The house is decorated to a very high standard with beautiful nautical touches. Really well equipped kitchen with quality modern appliances. Comfy beds. Large walk in shower on the first floor. Very clean throughout. The hosts were easily contactable and replied very quickly with any extra information we needed. I would highly recommend a glass of bubbly sipped from the upstairs balcony at sunset, watching the river traffic make its way up and down the Dart. We will definitely be back.

Great stay and amazing view down the river.

After losing my passport just before we were due to travel to south of France for our family holiday, I managed to book this beautiful home in the town centre of Dartmouth for our revised holiday. We’ve never been to Dartmouth before and was struck by the beauty of what was before us as we boarded the ferry to Dartmouth town. The home, aptly named The Bolthole had all the quirks of the nautical surroundings. Very well presented and perfect size for our family of 3. The views from the terraces in the loft room were stunning and the hosts were very clear with instructions. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in such a central location with so much to do. I would say if you are looking to stay in Dartmouth plan ahead of going where to eat in the evenings. Would we stay again? In a heartbeat, we are already making plans to go back and we just got home today! Thank you for the last minute booking and your lovely home! Xx

Everything from initial booking, making changes to settling in on arrival and departure was all an easy process. Nothing was too much trouble for the property owners who were extremely accommodating throughout our stay! A fabulous double fronted property in central dartmouth with the most amazing view of the harbour from the rear master bedroom balcony. The house was smaller than we expected in the living areas but perfectly formed, so as a family of 5 it was snug but no problem for a short stay. it evened out with the brilliant location.

Great location. We had free parking right next to the property due to the winter parking rules. Lovely house a short walk from all that Dartmouth has to offer. Quite a lot of stairs but not an issue for us. Lovely views from the top bedroom and balconies. First time in Dartmouth and loved it.

The property is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully laid out for guests. We were there during the food festival and it was great to be able to pop back as it was so close to town. Great communication from the hosts, we had no issues but I get the impression that nothing would be too much trouble.

The accommodation was very comfortable and convenient with wonderful views and modern appliances etc. The owners sent a very helpful and thorough email, which covered everything we needed to know before arrival and answered any questions quickly (on the odd occasion where I couldn’t find something etc) to help out.

Lovely property, amenities and location but 4 adults was a squeeze in the main living area (although sleeps 6). Stairs steep and narrow so not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. Otherwise, highly recommend.

Overall, great location and access to good pubs, restaurants and local facilities. The view from the top floor is to die for with your morning tea/coffee even when the weather is not so sunny! We had a lovely girls weekend away in Dartmouth and the property couldn’t have been more convenient for us to do all the things we wanted to including visiting some lovely restaurants. Everything we wanted was just a couple of minutes walk away. The views from the top floor bedroom and balcony where amazing both during the day and at night.

This house is in excellent condition and is in the heart of Dartmouth near the lower Ferry and the variety of pubs, restaurants and shops. The top floor bedroom has great views over the river towards the castle and Kingswear. Great modern kitchen and bathrooms and worked well for us as family of 5 with older children. Paul was really easy to deal with and check in and check out were very simple. Dartmouth is a good base to explore the area. Highly recommend.

Really good experience and no issues. Plenty of useful information supplied ahead of rental and a really relaxing break with excellent views of the river.

Lovely house with stunning views. Nicely decorated. Very clean and good central location. Rooms are quite small so I don’t think it would be ideal for 6 adults and steps are very steep. Beautiful views from top room but limited seating. Note no outside space or parking although it was possible to park outside overnight (not sure about high season) and we took our cars out and about most days. Good choice of shops and restaurants but must book the latter!

Loved our stay at this property. The host Paul was very quick and helpful with responses. The house is done out to a very high standard and in a great location.
