While the house is old, it is a very good value. The floors are not level, some window blinds need repair, but overall, it is a good price for a dog-friendly stay. The appliances are all newer and in good working order. The flooring and bathroom fixtures seem to be newer and the beds are comfortable. A great price for accepting some wear in an old house.

This house should be condemned!!! The floors are horribly uneven and makes it very difficult to walk from living room to either bathroom. Had to buy a knee brace for my 65 yo husband. All the rooms have uneven floors where floors are collapsing ariund them. Few new items..but house has no life and really rund down. Why?? why put your name on such a dilapidated home? We couldn't get no help from the # was given, and charging that cleaning fee for cobwebs and bird poop is wrong.

Clean and very comfortable. Even some little goodies and mini toiletries, which surprised me given the price. My only complaint is that the living room blinds are missing a bunch of blades, making it easy to see in from the street at night.

Not a good swelling, carpet not vacuum from living room and bedroom, needs better cleaning.

... but it is still a pig. Nice appliances and great hot water in the shower do not overcome the otherwise shabby condition of this place. The filthy entry doors lead to a living room with holes in the carpet and stained and sagging ceiling tiles. The living room photo in the ad is heavily photoshopped. The kitchen linoleum is " repaired" with strips of duct tape. The bedroom wallpaper is cracked and peeling. Ceilings are waterstained throughout the house. Electrical outlets are not grounded. Outlet covers in the living room are loose and a hazard to kids. The smoke dectotor in one bedroom was hanging loose with the battery removed. The couch has mismatched cushions, one of which has an iron on denim patch that does not cover the underlying damage. Kitchen chairs are an assortment of mismatched card table folding chairs. One of the beds had sand, stains, and animal hair on the coverlet. Not any kind of value for the price charged.

I pretty much never write reviews & obviously am not very good about reading them either. First the house wasn't all bad. The beds were comfortable & clean, kitchen appliances were newer & the bathrooms were great. The location is also excellent with access to everything. The house itself is old & pretty rundown. The first thing you notice when opening the door is the smell, very musty/dirty odor, probably from the carpet and/or furniture. The furniture is ripped & several things are broken (blinds, ceiling fan, electrical outlets). None of the windows have screens. The kitchen cabinets are very old, not very clean & difficult to open. The whole back of the house is ridiculous with obvious water damage, messed up floors & rotting wood. The back door does not open or close properly. In addition to all this there is an ant problem in the kitchen, don't leave food on the table. It seems like the owner is trying but the house needs A LOT of work. Would I rent this property again? NO

The interior of the house is very musty. There is water damage and parts of the ceiling have fallen out onto the laundry room. There are holes in the steps in front of the house. The floor is very unlevel and poses a fall risk. This is verging on unsafe living conditions. To add, we were told by the local Vacasa property manager that we would receive a partial refund as there were no other rentals available in the area. It has been nearly two weeks and no refund nor response despite following up with Vacasa.

Close to the beach! The house has good appliances and great water pressure oh! And a fantastic wood burning stove. But has a very musty smell.

We were happy to find a place that was pet friendly and very close to the beach. This house is ok but I’m not sure we’d go back with our dogs. The backdoor only opens about half way and the yard was not dog friendly. You have to keep them on leash at all times since not fully fenced. There were 4 huge bags of trash sitting out that we had to keep our dogs out of. If your looking for a place to just sleep then that’s what this place is.

New large capacity washer and dryer were nice although it took an adult and two teenagers 10 minutes to figure out how to start the dryer. The sloped floors makes it a place with a fun house feel. We had hoped for beach equipment (chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, kites, beach towels) but were disappointed. Old, painted cupboards may have been clean but they didn’t look it. Great TV. Best feature: it was close to “drive on” beach. Grandson says, “A little fixing up would go a long ways.”

A terrific stay. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is during a rain the back wall of the kitchen area leaked A LOT of water and I had to spend A LOT of time sopping up water and drying towels so that the kitchen didn’t flood.

We are not really picky but the Leaking roof +broken appliances + broken blinds + not really clean was a bit sad. We were crazy and did not read the reviews….hopefully you will learn from our mistakes. Lots of clean towels and clean bedding but the owners need to step up a bit and this would be fine

Place smells like mildew and roof leaked. Every inch of this place needs attention. Except the large bathroom. Laundry room, living room, bedrooms and kitchen. Sadly we will not be staying here again or ever going though this rental company. Check your pillows! Very yellow from age 🤢

We had a very comfortable stay in Salty Dog. We had three people and a few small dogs. The bathrooms were both very nice and clean. Plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, etc. The living room was super comfy for 3 people. There are 4 lounge chairs built in to the couches, plus the Swedish style chair with ottoman. The TV was very nice, just remember to bring your own Blu-Ray player as there is not a player of any type in the home. The beds were comfy and there were extra blankets around if needed. Yes, the roof leaks back by the washing machine and dryer, but it’s out of the way. Yes, the floors are uneven throughout the house, which takes a bit to get used to. But, we kind of made a game out of it. There was no toaster so we bought one for it. You’re welcome. But, all in all, it was very convenient to walk down to the beach everyday and walk the pups. You can see the ocean from the corner of the living room. The home was cozy, relaxing, and a perfectly fine place to stay for a week or two. We played games, made great food, watched movies, and took nice long walks to the beach. This place was affordable, comfortable, and was quirky and fun. I have read some not great reviews, but let’s face it - you can either complain or find fun in any situation right? We chose to find fun in it!

Our visit started poorly as soon as we opened the door. The overwhelming musty smell took our breath away. Although the house was clean, the musty odor was too much for one of our friends to stay and it triggered asthma and she needed to leave several hours later. The drawer full of left behind moldy bread was of no help either. We felt a little bit like being in a fish bowl as half the vertical slats in the living room blinds were missing. The kitchen window was also missing a curtain and peers straight into the neighbors kitchen. We were unable to get Netflix or Amazon for watching movies even though we had Wi-Fi. We didn’t think to bring a DVD player so movies on-site could be enjoyed. The house is roomy, and stocked well with linens and kitchen items - neat, clean and tidy. Location to the beach was nice. Wishing all of us could have stayed for the entire stay.

Two nice big bathrooms were very helpful. It’s a bit of a fun-house effect in this place. It’s slants toward the bedrooms. Not really a problem, buts it’s real. They have put some love into this place, but it needs quite a bit more to command the price they’re asking for a night’s stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but read the reviews carefully and know that the pictures are perfectly done to hide the cosmetic problems in the house. We didn’t come away thinking, “Wow! We really enjoyed our stay!” But it wasn’t horrible, either.

The home was clean, and well stocked. Bed was comfortable, nice linens. You can see the ocean from the front porch. We had some issues. First the roof was leaking in the laundry room, leaking enough to have to empty pots filled with water. Call vacasa, woman I spoke to was great felt it was an urgent situation and said maintenance was going to contact me. Maintenance guy texted asking for pictures of leak to send to roof company. Then nothing... spent 4 more nights with a leaking roof. Nobody ever got back to us, offered us anything, nothing. Previous renters beer bottles and cardboard was left in laundry area. Not nice. Blinds in living room don't work and are missing pieces. Bummer. No privacy. Back door to outdoor patio is non operational, roof facia is rotting and blocking door. Fix the blinds, roof leak, backdoor, and take out the garbage and would gladly stay here again. We stayed 7 nights, this is our 1 vacation a year so it was a bit diapponting.
