Simple cabin with charm and a gorgeous location

Such a beautiful, peaceful rustic cabin with lots of privacy, a great view and sounds of the Pacific Ocean in a gated community. We love the open floor plan, wood beamed ceilings, wood floors, lots of west-facing windows, the free-standing fireplace, comfortable furnishings and a private deck for barbecuing, sun-bathing, reading and just relaxing. We didn't mind the stairs and path to the beach, but it might be difficult for some. Short drive to a community grocery store and the Green Lantern pub. If you are looking for a shiny, modern, high-tech place or lots of social activity - this is not the place for you. We plan to be back as often as we can!

This rustic basically one room cabin is very cute and the setting is amazing. It was a wonderful experience to be so close to a quiet section of a beach. Unfortunately the owners sold out to a bad property management company Vacasa. It is very hard to find the cabin and we were at the end of the trail after a long day of driving at somebody else's cabin. We called Vacasa but they were no help in getting instructions so we had to drive around steep narrow roads until we found the cabin. Once inside it was nice, the one bedroom has large opening to the main room with only a curtain hanging there so it is not really a room to separate loud sleepers to allow others quiet. Some of the dishes were dirty forcing us to clean before use and there was not enough dishwasher soap keep up so we had to do dishes by hand. The view and deck were very nice and we enjoyed many trips to the beach. Once back in the cabin and time to clean up the shower did not work. Another call to Vascasa resulted in nothing more promise that a ticket was put in to the local crew and we would be contacted soon. We were never contacted and had to take baths. The log book and story of the house are all wonderful and it is nice place with good working heaters and plenty of blankets for that rustic feel but much of that is lost by a horrible management company such as Vacasa. Going forward I will never rent a place managed by Vacasa again, this place has so much potential if only it were maintained.

We loved the emptiness of the beach and the trees surrounding the cabin, making it feel like your own private hideaway. However, it has serious mechanical and safety problems that aren’t mentioned online. The signage from the highway is not obvious, neither is the property’s location.
Despite all this, once these issues are addressed, we’d happily return to this cabin for another stay.

This is an older cabin with an awesome view. Big South West facing windows and deck make for a nice bright space. The beach is great, with limited vehicle traffic.

Superb location for a beachfront getaway! Private and the deck is to die for....watch the ocean. You are roughly 100 feet above so you get a really good view. Plenty of cooking utensils/pots/pans, etc. I did bring my coffee setup as I'm partial to using Keureg. I no longer make coffee the old way. I love the log books they have there. Be sure to write in them about your experience. Fun reading mine and others from years back. In season, good razor clamming just steps away. Fishing off the beach can be good at times. The trees outside do drip sap so bring a tarp to cover over your car if you are picky about that. One tip....peanut butter removes the sap easily. Just rub it over the sap! Definitely rustic and the front door is feeling it's age. Really have to make sure it is fully closed. I deadbolted it when inside. The lack of WIFI sucks, but I keep coming back! Wonderful place to visit!

The location, views, access to the beach and being dog friendly is what makes this cabin wonderful!! Rustic but comfortable overall. Clean but my allergies acted up after a few hours sitting on the couch by the window. Pillows and bed need upgrading. Really great water pressure. Follow directions they share since google maps takes you to the bottom trail section instead of the home once you enter the gated area.

Feels like visiting an old friend, so satisfying. Ocean views and surf sounds fill the air

The huge deck is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the sun, ocean and stars.

This well loved 1960’s family cabin is just perfect for a quiet beach get away.

Great view and easy access to the beach. Loved it

We’ve been visiting Copalis Beach for a long, long time, and we know what the weather can be like. What I didn’t understand is that the VRBO photos of the interior really exaggerate the size of the cabin…in person, it’s very, very small.
In nice weather, not such a problem. In bad weather, with two large, young, active dogs, it was borderline impossible. We came home halfway through our scheduled trip.
The owners have done their best on the path to the beach but again, because of the weather, it was very muddy and slippery. A gravel bed in the level portions might help.
The gate to the neighborhood didn’t work without repeated attempts…maybe weather related?
The location is wonderful and the bed was comfortable, but the cabin is a bad fit for us as it turned out. More accurate photos would have been a big help.

This lovely cabin with one family history, will snap you right back to the good old days. It’s so easy to just slow down here and let the days lead you where they will, probably to the beach, in front of a beach fire while watching a spectacular sunset!

This property was perfect for our family of 4. Fantastic beach access and located just a short drive to Seabrook or Pacific Beach. The cabin itself is dated and the bathroom is very small.

We've been visiting this beach for > 30 years and love it. We've stayed at the Rocks Cabin several times and always have a great time. The location, views and access to the beach are all top shelf. The cabin isn't shiny and new so as long as you're open to a charming cabin with a few imperfections and not the Ritz Carlton you'll have a great visit.

Very cute little cabin. We loved how close it was to the beach and we had it mostly to ourselves! One of the upstairs beds was more comfortable than the other but the girls just decided to share instead. It was the perfect excuse to sit and read while listening to the waves and rain.

Rustic? Yes. But that's ok. The view, the sense of privacy, dog friendly and the beach access are why we will keep coming back. We've previously spent 2 New Years Eves at the Rocks, this trip was Christmas.
We made most of our meals at the cabin. We had a good supper at the Green Lantern Tavern which is a few miles away. We also discovered that the Copalis Beach Grocery had everything we needed and a trip to Ocean Shores wasn't needed.

We had a gorgeous few days on the coast in this cabin. We felt like we had truly escaped the real world while we were there. The cabin was clean and comfortable despite its old-house quirks and the location was unlike anywhere else we’ve ever been. We wanted privacy and we got it. We wanted the beach and we got it. We throughly enjoyed the VHS collection and the blackberries growing EVERYWHERE. We watched hummingbirds dart through the tree tops from the deck and were lulled to sleep by the surf every night- and some afternoons, too. We hope to be back some day.

The little cabin is comfortable, and this visit was our third (I think). It was quiet for the most part -- except for us -- we had to get accustomed to the screen door, as it banged shut a few times, very loudly. It's not a slow close screen like we are used to. Also, the doors were a little hard to close quietly as well.
The stairs and the walk down to the beach isn't that steep for 70+ year old knees, one just needs to be careful. Railings were put in, so, easier to get up and down. Instead of packing our beach chairs up and down each day, we left them at the bottom of the stairs.
We were greeted at the door with a sign that read "please take off your shoes" -- well, we always bring indoor and outdoor shoes, so we weren't quite sure if that meant we had to go shoeless inside. One of us has neuromas on the soles of each foot, so walking around barefoot or in thin soled slippers gets painful (it's like walking on marbles).
The cabin provides the basics that you'd expect to find. No shortage of blankets, soaps, towels, kitchen items, etc. Luxury gourmet? No. It is comfortably rustic, just enough 'things' to get the job done. Unless we are flying, we always bring our own utensils, pans, kettle, and dishes that fit the pre-planned menu items, & our camping box is always ready to go, anywhere, anytime.
And, FYI, no sign of critters inside the cabin. Spiders though. For an old cabin, it's clean. Leave tips for the cleaners . . .
before leaving the sound of the ocean . . .

A charming rustic cabin w a beautiful view
Could use a deep cleaning and a new bed
The bed sinks in the middle even with the new topper
Very uncomfortable
but the place is funky unique and sweet

The view is beautiful. The cabin not so much. I paid $344 a night for this place. What did I get? Worn out pillows and sheets and a mattress so old that the sides had broken down. The driveway was a dangerous disaster. Supposed to be a circular driveway but the car couldn’t handle the steep incline and loose gravel and we forced to turn around in a very tiny space with much difficulty. On one side of the driveway is a deep hole at about the area when a car door is opened. One could break a leg or damage a car in that hole. Doors are cracked and split and some are unpainted. Sofas are nice. Tables appear to be goodwill rejects with no paint in areas. Only one lamp could be used for reading at night. No safety bars at the tub or toilet. Floors VERY uneven and boards on the deck uneven enough to cause one to trip and fall. Some windows were dirty and dining table had not been cleaned well from previous renters. The garbage can was completely full when we arrived I have rented coastal properties with views that were far better for far less This construction of this cabin appears to have begun more than 50 years ago and never finished. It appears to have been a DIY project by someone who did not understand how to build something. This experience has shown me the kind of properties you represent and the high rates you charge for a subpar rental. We will not be doing business again

If you love a natural, private, unplugged beach experience, this is wonderful. The accommodations are clean and comfortable with expansive views and the calming sound of waves. We made a fire in the wood burning stove after an evening of strolling the beach. We
found many sand dollars along the way. We'd love to return!

We had a nice stay. It was the first time we brought our dogs on a weekend get away. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival that since it was a property that allowed pets that it didn’t smell like it. It was a little tough having to leash / walk the dogs to go potty. There’s really not a good spot on the property to let them out to do their thing. But it wasn’t the end of the world. Even though there are other properties within the gated area that this cabin is located, you still have the quiet / private feeling. The trail down to the beach was very well kept and it was nice to have such quick access. Both days we were there, there were quite a number of people out on the beach with their vehicles for either fishing or clamming so that was a little disappointing as we had hoped for less traffic since that was the point of a more remote destination.
Over all, this cabin was perfect for a peaceful getaway. It’s definitely nothing fancy but it was clean. You have to have appreciation for little quirks here and there. It definitely has its own rustic charm.
It has a fully stocked kitchen - plates, bowls, glasses, silverware and miscellaneous kitchen gadgets you might need.
Bed was comfortable.
If you have kids, it has a cute little loft with 2 twin size beds.
One little downfall is that the shower head was super low. If you’re under 5’…it’s perfect; but otherwise a little awkward to try and position yourself to wash your hair.
One suggestion I might make to maintenance is

We enjoyed are stay. Accommodation comfortable. The house probably needs a good scrub inside drawers and cabinets. The fitted sheet fabric was pilled. Luckily I brought. My own sheets. The surfaces of the house were clean and the frig was spotless. Loved the view and would book again.

Cozy cabin with fantastic view of the ocean. Great walks on the beach.

Obviously going into it I knew it would have a rustic feel because it is a cabin in the woods, but it was too rustic to where I didn’t feel comfortable putting my face on the pillows or laying on the couch. Some remodeling could be done for as much as your paying for the trip. I also knew there was as no internet on the trip. So we depended on the Tv, vhs, and dvd system that was there and it didn’t work. Not sure if it’s the cords. There were whole large spider webs behind both sides of the toilet where there are large spiders. Once again I know it’s a cabin, but I would tie it under cleanliness. The coffee maker also does not work as it stays as clear as tea when it’s done brewing. Won’t be picking that same location next time.

The beach here is heaven, and hanging out on the deck of this cabin was relaxing. There are a few things I think people should know about though. It's an old cabin and it smells like it. It's very musty and dusty, so if you have asthma and/or allergies you may be affected. Also while I was there the trees dropped big drops of sap on my car and windshield. It wasn't like the normal little tiny droplets, these were the size of dimes at least. This stuff isn't easy to remove. Also, there is a big black ant problem inside the cabin. Other than that it was very peaceful.

This charming little cabin has a lot of character and a phenomenal view. The vibe is perfect for disconnecting and reconnecting. The weather was cold and rainy when I, which didn't stop me from getting out and exploring the beach. So good. Thankfully, I picked up a bundle of wood and kindling for the woodstove. It kept the place warm and cozy in the evenings. Pro tip: If the forecast is calling for chilly temps, remember your slippers.

Pro: best ocean view. Private beach access.
Cons: smelly bathroom. Lots of ants. Upstairs carpet was not vacuumed and not cleaned and o big rat trap on the desk.

This home has clearly seen better days but the stunning location makes up for it.

This place was what the doctor ordered. Charming quiet and has an amazing view right from the balcony of the Pacific Ocean. A lot of history, and it’s own private beach that the kids and dogs can run on with seeing another soul for hours. Only true criticism is the bathroom is pretty bad. Otherwise you WILL unwind here, trust me.

This wonderful cabin is a gem! Charming, warm and rustic. Updates are needed, but It’s comfortable and welcoming.
Beautiful beach view from living room and deck. Great path down to the amazing beach that you can walk for miles in solitude. Cabin is dog friendly which was a plus for us! We will definitely be back!

Our stay was great. If you expect a 5-star hotel, this cabin is not for you. Of course, the cabin is old (built in 1960), but to us this was an attractive feature, not disadvantage. It was built with love, and the booklet in it told about the reasons why it has not been renovated recently. We got everything we wanted and expected - beautiful location, sense of privacy (there are other houses nearby, but the cabin is completely screened from them by trees and shrubs), easy access to the beach. Inside, we enjoyed the fireplace, great for this season and weather.

This was our second stay at Rocks Cabin -- and we've already booked another one for next year. We had several wonderful trips to the beach, even though it was late October. And when you're on the beach, it's all yours because rarely do you see anyone else there. The cabin can be described as well-worn, but it is so comfortable and there are always the beautiful views and sounds of the ocean. This place is a treasure.
