My husband and I stayed here with a friend, and made a dinner for his mother and two elder cousins. The home is beautiful, historic, and has gorgeous gardens. It has been updated beautifully throughout, but with respect for its historicity. The location is terrific, near 12 Mile Road between Woodward Avenue and Crooks in Royal Oak.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

This was the perfect home for our large group. We were attending a family reunion, and six of us stayed at this lovely property. It was conveniently located for us to get around to visit family, the house was very clean and well kept, and communication with the owner was prompt and friendly. We couldn’t ask for more, and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to the Detroit metro area!

Travelled from Chicago to see the Bears get their butts kicked by the Lions. While the game was disappointing, the place we stayed at was not. Keith was a gracious host and the property was perfect for our family. I just wish we could have stayed longer. I plan on coming back to the Detroit area once the Motown museum renovations are done and would love to stay at this property again.

This home was perfect! From the communication with the owner to every detail in the home, absolutely amazing. We even asked the owner to come visit us in Saint Augustine to help us decorate our home. Everything we needed for preparing food for 9 people was there, even a very fancy coffee machine that made lattes which my wife loved! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely perfect choice for our family gathering for my mom's 90th birthday. Lots of space for entertaining, a great kitchen to prepare meals and a wonderful, responsive owner. Loved our stay!

We had a great time. Super comfortable with large bedrooms, game room downstairs, and awesome patios on both the first and second floor. Four bathrooms means no waiting!

The community of Royal Oak is comfortable and inviting. We felt at home here. The house was lovely, as described in the listing and provided a nice place for our family to relax before/after the activities that brought us to Detroit.

The house was BEAUTIFUL and so well maintained. The home is so convenient to downtown Royal Oak as well as Birmingham. Keith truly thought of everything when thinking of how to accommodate his guests. He was also so responsive with any questions we had and so kind. We highly recommend this rental! We hope to be back sometime.

This home is beyond beautiful! We hosted a micro baby shower for our daughter in this property for a party of seven. We chose this home based on logistics to Detroit airport since we had guest coming from California, Connecticut, DC, Oregon, Indiana and Michigan! Keith thank you for opening up your home and making our stay impeccably wonderful! To anyone reading this review , just book it! You will not regret it!

We landed as a gaggle of 5 women, on a girls' weekend! College friends of 30+ years. We LOVED the house. The house was beautifully appointed. Stocked with all that we needed (a nice collection of stemware was most important...and it delivered). Comfy beds and plenty of them. Quiet neighborhood. Coffee in the sunroom was wonderful (choose your brew method!) Ping Pong in the game room. A nice walk into Royal Oaks for a shopping excursion. Fabulous shower(s). It was an absolute delight to stay at Keith's home. It was all so comfortable and easy! A perfect respite!

What a wonderful property! We were in town for a wedding and booked this house with other family members. There were a total of 10 of staying in the house. The pictures really don't do it justice. The house is gorgeous! And older home meticulously updated. It has the best of everything. There is ample seating in doors and truly fantastic outdoor space with great seating space. Keith, our host, was so accommodating and helpful. Everyone in our family enjoyed the stay. I would go back again in a heartbeat. It is a special place! Thank you Keith!!!

This is one of the most amazing VRBO homes I have rented! The owner has thought of every detail to make your stay perfect!!! He is also super easy to communicate with and flexible! This was our group’s second time here and we will undoubtably return!!!

We loved this home and the location is wonderful.The owner responded almost immediately to any issues we had and he was out of the country the week we were there which really impressed us. Just one thing to keep in mind is that there are no bedrooms on the main floor so people with bad knees or older folks may have problems negotiating all the stairs. We loved the feeling of history you could sense in the home along with the remodeled touches.

9 of us drove over from West Michigan to see a wonderful concert at Pine Knob: Jackson Browne and James Taylor. We divvied up the various bedrooms - each one beautiful and comfy - and headed off to tailgate before the show started. So we didn't really get to enjoy the property until the next morning. WOW - the gardens were a lovely place for coffee and rehashing the previous evening. Put together a great breakfast in the well-appointed kitchen (after I totally goofed up the first pot of coffee - by placing the new coffee grounds into the been grinder portion. We all hated to go and wanted to stay another day/night it was so lovely. I am tempted to write a bad review to improve our chances to rent it again but can't do that to our kind host Keith. We'll be back!

Keith was a fantastic host! He gave me a tour of the house before booking. The house a property is absolutely gorgeous. It was a perfect place to take photos there before my wedding with my bridesmaids. Everything was clean and comfortable. Keith was easy to reach for questions and provided a bottle of wine for us. Everyone will enjoy their stay at this house. Highly recommended.

This house is large and comfortable. Our host was extremely prompt and responsive in responding to questions. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked. The backyard of the house is ample and well suited to lounging in the warm weather months. We found the location excellent for our purposes—very near downtown Royal Oak and it’s lively scene. The neighborhood block itself is lovely and quiet.

My daughter was in from Germany and we needed a place to reunite with family. We had the best time, could not have asked for more. We hope to make this an annual, the house had everything we could possibly need. It's a beautiful property!!

We travel A LOT and honestly Keith's home was probably the BEST rental where we have EVER stayed - it is CLEAN, beautiful, we could have our dogs, it had EVERYTHING. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The house is a have - beautiful, quiet, clean, serene, with gardens and patios. The pictures are beautiful but don't even do it justice - wait until you arrive. It was just what we needed coming back to Michigan for a funeral. Keith was easy to reach, quick to respond, kind, thoughtful, and so easy to work with. The house had sheets, towels, fans, paper towels, toilet paper, a washer and dryer - such TASTEFUL decorations and art. WE LOVED IT. If we are ever back in Michigan we WILL stay here, hands down. It is WORTH IT. I kind of don't want to tell anyone else here on VRBO how wonderful it is, keep it a secret just for our family - but Keith deserves to have this wonderful home shared. Please treat this haven as your own - this home has personality - be kind to it. Love it. Treat it as your OWN. Because it IS that special. You will feel it. I promise. Keith - thank YOU a million times over. It was PERFECT.

What a beautiful home to stay in during my son’s wedding week. The home had everything you could want in the kitchen for cooking! Loved the Breville coffee bar and all the beverage fridges. The game room was perfect for ending our evenings, not to mention the disco ball!! And we spent hours outdoors on the patio. Thanks for outfitting such a perfect spot for us to hang out!!

I rented this property for myself and my family to stay in for the weekend. Keith is a very good host ensured our stay would be a great one. The photos of the house are almost spot on and if anything leave a bit of a surprise for when you get there.Very nice home, fully furnished, and quiet neighborhood.
