A very nice townhouse in the old town of Rethymno. A perfect location both for enjoying the town itself and sightseeing western and central Crete. Rethymno itself was a very pleasant surprise; beautiful architecture, great restaurants, and a lovely seafront.

Die Lage des Hauses in der Altstadt ist optimal: unzählige Tavernen und Geschäfte sind in unmittelbarer Nähe und der schöne Badestrand ist ebenfalls schnell zu Fuss erreichbar, so dass wir gut auf einen Mietwagen verzichten konnten. Wir genossen die umfangreiche und durchdachte Ausstattung des Hauses, die Sonnenbäder auf der Dachterrasse und die super bequemen Betten. Der Frühstückskaffee auf dem sonnigen Balkon mit Blick auf das Treiben im Altstadtgässchen vor dem Haus wurde uns zur lieben Gewohnheit, ebenso wie die kretischen Speisen und Weine in den Tavernen des Städtchens. Alles in Allem ein wunderbarer Start in die Vor-Sommer-Saison. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Great place right in the heart of the town. Could walk everywhere and only 5 minutes from the beach, great restaurants and shops all around. Two balconies and a rooftop deck were great for relaxing and eating together. The restaurant directly across from the apartment does play music into the evening which can be faintly heard in the bedroom closest to the street, but with shutters closed, it is faint. Katja was a great host and came by to provide us with a list of places to visit and restaurants to try, which was very helpful! Truly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back!

The roof terrace is lovely, with great views of the harbour. Everything is in walking distance, including great places to swim off the rocks to the west of the fortress. The street can be noisy at night but the double bedroom at the back of the house is perfectly quiet. We had a wonderful week.

Sehr gut und freundlich!

Das Haus ist exakt wie auf den Fotos ausgestattet, es fehlt an nichts. Die Lage in der Altstadt perfekt, sowohl Läden als auch Strand in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Wir haben uns uneingeschränkt wohl gefühlt. Mit Katja hatten wir eine sehr hilfsbereite, aufmerksame und freundliche Vermieterin. Hierfür sehr gerne noch ein Extrasternchen! 😊😊😊

Es wurde eigentlich schon alles in früheren Rezensionen gesagt. Die Wohnung ist super gelegen, rechts der (recht schöne) Strand und links die Altstadt, alles schnell zu Fuss erreichbar. Retymnon ist auch zum Erkunden der Insel eine gute Wahl. Die Dachterrasse ist wunderbar und die Vermieterin freundlich, hilfsbereit, flexibel und immer erreichbar. Wir kamen spät am Abend an und waren nicht mehr einkaufen aber in der Wohnung war schon für Frühstück gesorgt. Das einzige potentielle Problem: steile, enge Treppen und bis zum Dach sind es 3 davon. Wenn das kein Hinderniss ist, zugreifen!

We had a wonderful 11 nights stay in Katja's beautiful house right in the middle of old town Rethymno. With 2 balconies, a private patio and an outstanding roof terrace each of us could find sun or shade to suit us at various times of the day. A super host with nothing being too much trouble Katja was a wealth of local knowledge and we wouldn't hesitate to approach her again. There was so much to do in the town and so many places to eat we only used our hire car twice to explore further afield. It's clean, it's safe, it's central, it's well equipped and the area super friendly - I would return in a minute. Beaches, Walks, Cycles or lazy days amongst the wealth of small local shops and an evening of cozy family dining or lively cocktails with good music and stunning views, it's all there for you. Only points to note which did not affect us are the stairs are steep if you have any mobility issues and parking the car near the house can be a challenge, although the twice we moved it we got lucky on our return. Es war alles in Ordnung, die Wohnung ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Sie entspricht der Beschreibung und den Bildern! Die Wohnung hat eine super Lage am Rande der Altstadt. Links zur Tür raus und man ist in der Altstadt mit Geschäften und Restaurants, rechts herum und man ist in 5 min am tollen Sandstrand. Von der Dachterrasse kann man auf den venezianischen Hafen schauen. Toller Ausblick morgens beim Frühstück oder einfach so! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und haben auch sehr gute Tipps und Empfehlungen bekommen. Es war jederzeit ein Nachfragen möglich. Direkt bei der Wohnung gibt es keinen Parkplatz, aber an der Marina gibt es zwei öffentliche (kostenpflichtige) Parkplätze! Wir (Familie mit 2 Kindern) würden die Wohnung jederzeit wieder mieten!

Im Grossen und Ganzen entsprach das Haus der Beschreibung. Das Foto im Inserat mit Blick auf den Hafen suggerierte, dass das der Ausblick von der Dachterrasse wäre aber der Ausblick war ein anderer, weniger schön. Die Küchenausstattung war ein wenig mager. Im Küchenschrank waren 2 Fächer voll mit Resten der Vormieter, Weingläser hingegen waren nicht vorhanden, und das in einem Land wo Wein angebaut wird.

Eine schöne, moderne Wohnung mit viel Licht, drei Balkonen und Dachterrasse in einem alten Haus in der zentralen Fußgängerzone – und trotzdem in fünf Minuten am Strand. Herz, was willst du mehr?

This house is right in the busy heart of the town, but once inside it is a haven of peace - with the option of a roof patio to enjoy a view over the sea. Very extensively equipped, reliable wifi, excellent air conditioning and comfortable beds! The owners have extensive local knowledge and recommendations to share. You can be sure of a great holiday experience.

lovely house to feel like home

We arrived to carafe of local wine, fresh fruit, and small sample of local raki. Host was very patient in directing us to location via, phone, text and email as we drove into town. She provided excellent restaurant recommendation. We were able to work off much Greek food and drink negotiating stairs. Great balconies and roof top terrace. Also provided good map of town and region with personal notations of places to see and eat so we could make the most of our 5 days.

Tolle Lage in der Altstadt, sehr freundliche und unkomplizierte Abwicklung mit Katja. Die Beschreibung entspricht dem was wir angetroffen haben. Jeder Zeit wieder.

Trotz der späten Anreise wurden wir herzlich von Frau Haffenrichter in Empfang genommen. Das Haus Ist zentral gelegen. Alle Einrichtungen die man sich wünscht sind vorhanden. Die Wege in die Altstadt, zum Strand und zum Hafen sind kurz. Mit dem Tip der Vermieterin kann man sogar seinen Mietagen kostenlos in der Nähe parken. :-) Die Verständigung mit Frau Haffenrichter verläuft innerhalb kürzester Zeit per Mail oder WhatsApp. Danke für die tolle Zeit in der Stadt. Nous avons eu de la chance de pouvoir passer une semaine dans cette très jolie maison idealement située à l'entree de la vielle ville et à 10 minutes d'une plage de sable fin. La maison est de tout confort, notamment la climatisation qui etait fort utile pendant la grosse chaleur des derniers jours! Notre hotesse Katja etait très disponible et efficace. Elle a surtout , avec un peu de chance, resolue le problème no. 1 , garer la voiture! Nous esperons vraiment de retourner dans cette location très recherchée.

Schon der nette Empfang durch unsere Gastgeberin hat uns spüren lassen, wie willkommen wir waren. Sie gab uns tolle Tipps, so dass wir uns sehr schnell zurecht finden konnten und sie war immer für uns da. Die Altstadt war bezaubernd und wir wohnten „mittendrin“. Das Haus war wunderbar und mit allem, was wir brauchten ausgestattet, liebevoll und großzügig eingerichtet und die 4Balkone inkl. Dachterrasse waren etwas ganz besonderes!!!

Crete is a beautiful island and Rethymno is a fascinating town full of interesting things to see and food to eat. This property is exactly as described and it is the perfect base for exploring the town and surrounding countryside. Ein sehr schönes kleines Häuschen inmitten der Altstadt. Es hat alles was man braucht, Katja stellt jede Menge Infos zur Verfügung, außerdem kleine Dinge, die man braucht (Spülmittel, Klopapier etc). Sie war auf jeden Fall die netteste Vermieterin, die wir bisher getroffen haben! Die Lage ist super, zu Fuß zum Strand in 5 min., Supermarkt gegenüber, der immer offen hat, abends zum Essen in eins der 100 kleinen griechischen Tavernen rund um die Ecken. Der venezianische Hafen ist auch gleich um die Ecke, wo man sehr schön ruhig sitzen kann. Gut ist es, einen Mietwagen zu haben, da es sehr schöne Ausflugsziele gibt, besonders schön war der Strand bei Elafonisi (nicht verpassen!). Das Auto kann man in der Nähe kostenlos in der Straße parken, wenn etwas frei ist, zur Not auf dem Parkplatz am Hafen. Wir waren im April dort, das Wetter war ganz toll, die Natur wie im Mai bei uns in Deutschland. Ich kann das Häuschen von Katja sehr empfehlen!

Das Haus lässt keine Wünsche offen und die Betreuung und die Tipps waren überzeugend! Einzig der Gepäcktransport auf den (baubedingt) engen Treppen war für uns ältere Menschen etwas schwierig.

Very well located in Rethymno old town, and charming! We will definatly coming back!

Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man (frau) so braucht. Es gibt ein Gäste-WC auf der gleichen Etage wie Wohnraum/Küche. Ein zweites, sehr hübsches Bad mit Wanne befindet sich in der 2. Etage zwischen den Schlafzimmern. Die Betten haben eine gute Qualität, leider hat nur das eine Schlafzimmer AC, in dem vorderen Schlafzimmer gibt es einen kleinen Ventilator. Die Lage des Hauses ist einfach perfekt. In wenigen Minuten erreicht man den Rimondi-Brunnen oder die Festung, eine große Auswahl an Tavernen und Restaurants, dazu die vielen Shops - es gibt alles, was das Herz begehrt. In die anderen Richtung geht's an den Strand (5-10 Minuten) Fußweg. Es gibt in der Nähe einen Taxistand, die Busstation, der Wochenmarkt alles ist in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir kommen sicherlich gerne wieder! Vielen Dank an Katja für den netten Empfang und die vielen wertvollen Tipps!
