The house was perfect for our short stay in Cloudcroft. The kids could play right outside in the snow! The neighbor right across the street screamed at my daughter because her dog was on her property ( the dog had gotten away from her after she had slipped on ice ) so if you stay just make sure to stay on your side of the road. :/ other than that we had a fantastic time! The check in process got 4 stars because we were given the wrong code to the door … that was a little stressful because there is no cell service but once we reached the owner it was a simple mistake and the right code was given. The house was clean and well kept! Plenty of towels and blankets. We would stay again!

The cabin is very well maintained, cleaned and fully stocked. Photos don't do it justice, as the view, inside and outside the cabin looks amazing. The neighborhood is quiet and secluded, so it's a perfect getaway. But on the other side, it's not too far from the small city if you forget something. We had a very pleasant stay.

Elk Hollow was a comfortable, cozy, family friendly retreat. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, and appliances. The beds were warm and comfortable, and the surroundings were peaceful. The deck was amazing and so enjoyable for us and our dog! Thank you for your hospitality!

I don’t get to take off very much due to the nature of my job, so this three day trip to Cloudcroft was just what my family and I needed. My wife and I were looking for houses/cabins to rent and I found this hidden hide-a-way jewel to be perfect! Our host was fantastic and on the spot with everything. Once we arrived, we found the neighbors to be very helpful and friendly, the house was even better than the pictures, everything was simple to use and easy to read instructions for operating the day-to-day appliances in the house.
It snowed while we were there and it was so beautiful and relaxing. Wildlife is abundant as we had a bull elk cross the roadway on the way to the property. Everything was just perfect - Thank you!

We completely enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay. The cabin had every amenity that we could possibly need. It was very clean, spacious and decorated well. The cabin is set in a peaceful location surrounded with nature. Information about the cabin, activities and restaurants was provided well in advance. It was the coziest home; we would definitely stay again. Excellent hosts!

We have been to your cabin many times however we brought some friends this time. They were instantly in love with your cabin and Cloudcroft. As usual, the wildlife didn’t disappoint as we saw lots of elk snd mule deer. They can’t wait to back with us again.

The home is as described. Easy to get to & not far from town. The home is very cozy & the beds are so comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything from birdseed, to binoculars and walking sticks for hikes. We enjoyed listening to the elk bugling and seeing birds that we have not seen before and ducks on the pond. Great communication with the hosts. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a nice getaway in Cloudcroft.

Property is well maintained and exactly as described! Great location! Elk are present every morning and afternoon, and the birds are present all the time! Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Cloudcroft, and we had a blast at the lumberjack festival! Would love to stay here again!

The wildlife is the best. So many elk every day at sunrise and sunset. Absolutely wonderful. Then add the birds, chipmunks and deer and if you love wildlife, this is the place.

Elk Hollow is such a wonderful ‘home away from home’ from which to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Cloudcroft area! We spent 5 nights here in May 2023, and this place was perfect for us. The porch has fantastic views and provides great opportunities for watching the bird life and occasional elk gatherings. We spent much of the time we were ‘home’ on the porch enjoying the wide variety of bird life and scenic beauty. The living area, kitchen, and bedrooms are also very comfortable and inviting. We also greatly enjoyed the serenity of the duck pond, and feeding the resident mallard trio we called “Larry, Curly, and Moe”. The woods beyond the pond have a nice trail for peaceful and refreshing walks through the forest. The delightful little town of Cloudcroft is an easy and enjoyable ten-minute drive away, with many restaurants, shops, and hiking trails to explore. We are looking forward to a return visit someday, perhaps in a later season when the male elk have grown their majestic antlers. Many thanks to the Sandusky’s for sharing their wonderful mountain home with us!

Beautiful cabin! The area around cabin was beautiful. Everything was perfect, we had a great time. Elk everyday at the cabin, and variety of birds around feeders amazing! We love Cloudcroft. The owners were super to work with. Will be back again!

This spring we visited earlier at Elk Hollow and it was just delightful weather, and the property was so comfy and convenient to all our outdoor activities. The kitchen is well equipped so cooking was a breeze. The owners are always responsive and helpful. We love returning to this property as often as we can.

The house is located in an area that’s quiet & not far from the village. Very nice & comfy! We’ve vacationed in Cloudcroft a couple of other times & this stay was, by far, the best. Highly recommend Elk Hollow! We hope to get back in the not too distant future & hopefully can stay here again…if it’s available, that is.

When we walked in, we were so happy! The decor and the feeling of being home was amazing! The amount of staple items available was wonderful. Every detail was thought of in this home. Enjoyed the birds, deer, elk, ducks,
trout, and turkeys! Will definitely stay here again.
