For several families to stay and enjoy fishing, wading, swimming, kayak at the lake. Homes are equipped with everything you need

We rented both houses and it was perfect for our multi-generational family vacation. Nice and quiet, spacious, comfortable, well equipped. Loved the extra “den” rooms for the younger crowd to hang out and watch TV. Also enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. The location was so convenient to Nantahala, the Fontana Lake where we went swimming, deep creek tubing, and Bryson City for groceries. Watershed management company was great to work with as well. We were very happy with these houses and would definitely love to return here for another trip.

We really enjoyed our stay! we had a group of 16 and there was plenty of room and location is great for mountain trails, lake activities, and river activities.

Early Family Christmas 2021
Our family stayed at the two homes of Closer to Heaven to be near Bryson City and experience the Polar Express. Beautiful homes, perfect location, superior views! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Absolute Paradise
We rented both cabins (Firefly and Almost Heaven) for my 40th birthday. I cannot possibly stress this enough: these cabins are glorious. Both are well appointed and spacious, comfortable, well insulated, and charming. The view is excellent from both for sunsets. The hot tubs are great. The fire pit is enormous. Do be aware that there is NO and I mean absolutely NO cell service, so get the wifi option if that's a problem for you. The drive up the mountain is terrifying the first time, so prepare yourself. There were excellent and loud fans in the bathrooms for shy poopers, insanely comfortable beds, and lots of space for 13 adults. We requested extra firewood and received it within an hour. An absolute dream for disconnecting from life and recharging your soul. Strongly and emphatically recommend. We will be back.

Great location beautiful properties!
We booked the combo for a few days to be near tail of the dragon. The view was really nice, the properties were extremely nice and updated and there was plenty to do at the houses like hot tubs, a fire pit and a pool table. The only down side was absolutely 0 cell phone service, and they do not have wifi

Thanksgiving in the Mountains
We rented the Closer to Heaven Combo for our family Thanksgiving. These properties were amazing! They thought through every detail. Amazing views, comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms, well appointed kitchens with dishwasher and laundry pods provided. Even extra chemical for the hot tub if needed. I HIGHLY recommend this property and I’m sure everyone in our party would agree.

Amazing Cabins Near Nantahala River
The photos for this property really don’t do it justice. We rented both cabins for a company retreat and it was the perfect setting. The bigger cabin has a very open floor plan on main floor that opens out to the fire pit and hot tub. It comfortably slept 10 grown men. The smaller cabin is connected by a gravel driveway. The second cabin also has its own hot tub and has three bedrooms. The view from this cabin into the mountain valley is AMAZING. you feel like you’re in Costa Rica.
Linens and dishes were provided. Houses were both clean upon arrival and check in was easy. Will definitely rent again if we’re in the area.

Wonderful Christmas with our whole family!
The property is beautiful! Very comfortable for our family. Can rent Firefly next to it. Big kitchen. Fire pit for roasting marshmallows !

Fantastic Property
We were very impressed with both houses. Everything about it was great. Very spacious. Loved it, made our trip very relaxing. Electric went out during the day and came back on before dark. We called on it and was treated very professionally and promptly. Thank you

Amazing!
My stay wa sthe absolute best everrr!!!!! I rented the two properties closer to heaven and firefly as a surprise for my husbands 41st birthday. He actually cried and said he will never forget this birthday for the rest of his life! We even had a small snow storm during our stay which made the view even that much more beautiful!!! I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a life long memory! Just fantastic, clean, peaceful, the cabins had everything to accommodate all of our needs down to the seasonings that we forgot to bring with us lol! Just wonderful and amazing, I can't express that enough in words!
Thanx soooo much for these well maintained cabins, you have made my dream stay at a cabin a wonderful reality!
