Our group of 5 adults and 2 kids (aged 10 and 14) stayed at this property for a week in February 2024. Punta Esmeralda itself is an absolutely beautiful resort. An assortment of accommodations ranging from condos, villa and homes. There are 8 pools throughout the landscaped grounds, right on the beach, a spa, pickleballs courts, small gym and a restaurant (which had exceptionally delicious food!). The villa we were in was very clean and comfortable, had a well equipped kitchen, BBQ, washer/dryer to do laundry, and was located close to all amenities. The views from the private plunge pool were gorgeous and even with visiting during the busy season it never felt crowded or too busy. With low tide we were able to walk into both La Cruz and Bucerias, and access to the bus and taxi's to get around was simple and quick. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, even accommodating an early check-in for our group. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to stay in the area - five stars!!

Punta Esmeralda is a beautifully designed complex, located right on the Bay of Banderas. The property is exquisitely maintained, including all 8 pools, and the on-site restaurant serves excellent breakfasts and lunches. There are flower-lined walkways everywhere and so many areas in which to relax. We were totally pleased with our location. However, condo Arena 2 was lacking in many ways, and led to much frustration, especially during our first week - 10 days. We had no internet access within our unit, and trucked up the hill to a room which the odd time did have access. The air conditioners in the bedrooms never did work properly the entire month, nor did the "brand new" dishwasher. Although they fogged constantly for mosquitoes, we were unable to sit out in the evenings due to being bitten. (Our condo was on the ground floor.) The final disappointment involved money being stolen by one of the maids. Our rental agent, who works for Destino Vacation Rentals, was less than helpful and more or less ignored us. Arena 2 is a nicely furnished, spacious unit which comfortably accommodates 8 people, and its location so close to the beach and pools is ideal. However, it requires some attention before we could recommend it to future renters.
