With some fixing up and maintenance, this would be a great place! We still enjoyed ourselves, just could of been a bit better.

Nice older dog friendly cabin in a peaceful area across the road from the lake.

We arrived at the property at check in time 4pm and the cleaning crew only just got started cleaning. We travelled a few hours to get here and we had food we needed to get into the refrigerator. We had to step over all the dirty laundry in the hallway to get to the kitchen. The cleaning crew didn’t seem to care one bit and made the statement “ we’re always late cleaning this house”. We were confused about why they would say that loud enough for paying guests to hear them. The house is very outdated. 3 days into our week stay the dishwasher started leaking all over the kitchen floor. The knives in the kitchen were dull and unusable. We had to go to the store and buy our own set just so we didn’t cut ourselves. Property management was a pleasure working with and handled everything we asked for and needed. They didn’t supply us with enough towels and wash cloths at first but brought us more during the week. We were told the owner of this house doesn’t really care about it and after that we just noticed everything that could be updated, replaced, or just removed. Apparently this is the “party house” and we could only imagine what the stains on all the furniture are from. All in all I would not recommend staying at this property. You’re better off with a more updated and looked after property for the money you’re going to spend. A place that the owner takes all pride in renting out to paying guests

Lovely property with a 'peek through the trees' view of Deep Creek Lake. Wonderful deck with a hot tub. Beds were comfortable and setup of house was lovely

this house/property is very close to Deep Creek amenities such as iconic restaurants unfortunately, there is no unobstructed view of the lake and no direct access the house is surrounded by private property which are beautiful but do not offer a way to get to the lake as property renters the house could/should be nicer, updated and cleaned, additional amenities such as ready fire wood, and an umbrella or awning on the deck would be nice the heating/ac units in each level were confusing or malfunctioning, some/many cleaning details should be addressed of course it was affordable and offered a great lodging to gather

Had a great time staying here for four days for our friends birthday weekend. The house had an awesome view of the lake and was five minutes from all of the restaurants and bars. The deck was our favorite feature and was gated so my dog could stay outside with us. The kitchen had a large number of pots, pans, and other cooking items that made our stay easy. When we arrived the hot tub was not full yet but the technician was there within minutes of arrival and filled it and had it running for us in no time! Next time we are in Deep Creek we will be staying here again!

This property is a home away from home. Everything you need the unit has. The location was beautiful. Nice lake views. We had a wonderful vacation.

Very nice cozy cabin. The only thing I didn't like is I couldn't contact anyone other than a call center in India when I had questions.

Spacious house in a great location. Pretty much as advertised. Very comfortable for a family of 4. 4 stars instead of 5 as the house could use some upgrades as it seems well worn. But overall would stay again.

My teens and I enjoyed the home for a weekend of snowboarding and skiing at Wisp. The location is very convenient to Wisp and Deep Creek restaurants and attractions. Though we read prior comments about the furnishings being dated, as they say - you get what you pay for. The fancier homes in the area are way more expensive and we found the property to be an excellent value.

The location was perfect for us. Away from the dense condos in McHenry but only 15-min to Wisp. Our family loves hiking, so the woods surrounding the property were a lovely perk for us. The home could use some small aesthetic touches, e.g. touching up the paint on the walls, but nothing was uncomfortable or disappointing. My feedback for the host would be to provide coffee filters for the machine (the percolator only makes 1 c at a time) and to ensure the thermostat remotes have charged batteries—or make replacement batteries available. We ended up swapping batteries from the basement thermostat remote for the main level.

Great area of Deep Creek!

We had a great 25th Anniversary gathering. Wish they would’ve supplied the first round of firewood. The furniture isn’t that comfy but overall, it was a great time, great place and great accommodations.

The home is clean for the most part, throw pillows could use some vacuuming as we saw some hair on them. It is spacious, comfortable beds and enough linens. Kitchen is well equipped although we didn’t cook a lot. The “but” part is here The water pressure was very low the first evening and the next day. So low that the upstairs bathroom flush wasn’t working or if one showers in one bathroom the other showers are practically unusable or literally dripping. All the jets in the hot tub were not functional but we took turns in sitting in the 2 corners that they were working in. We called about water pressure and they sent someone immediately. So the response part is good but the cell signal is so spotty that the call with the guy who is about to come to fix dropped frequently. I am still not sure if somebody really came or not also. All in all, a nice, comfortable place but it is a bit pricey for the quality, specially for some people water problem is a big deal.

Heater in top bedroom did not work and my parents were cold at night. Overall nice experience, the cabin was beautiful. The deck issue mentioned in previous reviews seemed to have been addressed (brand new deck with no structural issues). Thank you!

Though the house was clean inside, the outside is not in good shape. Lawn is overgrown where fire pits sits, deck is rotted in places and very splintery. Lots of spider webs and moss. Hot tub was not usable per the tech that happened to come service it as we were about to try it., he drained and put in chemicals and said would need to wait until next day, which is when we were checking out. The is no dock access to the lake as listed in the description. The inside was comfortable, we were just disappointed in how the house was described with regard to outside use verses the reality.

Overall, we had an OK stay at 29 Aker Wood. As soon as we got there, a guy was filling the hot tub and said the heater wasn't working and a tech would be out the next morning to fix it. The next morning came and no tech. I received a text that morning from Vacasa asking how my stay was going. I told them about the hot tub. They said a tech would be out the next morning. The next morning came and no tech. Instead of promising a repair, why not just say that we won't have a hot tub. That is better than anticipating a repair and not getting one. In addition, the grass was high, we couldn't get the basement TV to work, the top floor shower would not stay on and we had low water pressure everywhere else when running the dishwasher or washing machine. But there was some good about our stay as well. It was close to everything. The AC worked very well. It has a large deck with plenty of chairs. We used the kitchen and enjoyed the fire pit. We didn't expect the place to be perfect, but don't make promises that you can't fulfill.

DCL got about 6 inches on our check in date. Not what we were expecting. We pretty much never left the cabin because of it. And we never had to. We had great times playing games, watching movies and relaxing by the fire. The cabin easily fit our family of 3 and our friends family of 5. It was everyone’s first time to DCL (besides me) and everyone can’t wait to come back in the summer!

We have a very nice stay at this property. 4 adults and 2 small fur babies. The area was quiet and located close enough to what you might need. Hot tub was clean and worked well. The new deck was very nice. Fireplace worked very good. Kitchen had pretty much anything you might need for cooking (pots, pans, utensils). Plan to bring your own salt, pepper, cooking oil, foil etc. Papertowels, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher tabs, and trash bags were provided which was nice. Noteworthy: Light bulb was out above the table. Basement had the typical strong musty smell of basements. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the beds were comfy and we were able to relax and even catch a glimpse of a couple shooting stars while relaxing in the hot tub.

We had a great time in this pet friendly home!! The fireplace was wonderful! Excellent that each room had its own heater control once we figured them out. The veiw of the lake was beautiful. Would highly recommend this home!!

Great home in a beautiful location! Situated in a quiet, convenient, partially wooded neighborhood on the lake, this house (while not sitting directly lakeside) is lovely- very clean, great natural light, well laid out, and spacious. There is also a great family room loaded with books and games galore for down time/rainy days. I saw an earlier review mention some concerns about the home's deck, but that has been taken care of, and a brand new deck has replaced the old one.

Great wooden house, excellent location, and very nice surrounding. Plenty shaded paths and forest area to walk your dog. There is an access to a small shore line, but not easy to find. We were pleasantly surprised by 2 dog gates for each deck opening (would not bring ours if we knew of them) - we definitely needed them for our husky. Spacious and clean bedrooms and bathrooms, a lot of space and lights in the main area, nice dining setting. We did experience a few minor maintenance hiccups, like a broken ceiling light where the bulb fell out or turned off outlets without CFGI buttons in all bathrooms or the basement toilet kept cycling water. We informed the management company immediately and hope it’ll be fixed for the next tenant. Our main concern was the deck. Although beautifully designed along 2 sides of the house, allowing a wonderful view and attracting with all-day fresh air enjoyment, it cries for maintenance: two double posts are not touching the ground and therefore the corner section is bouncing when you walk on it, a shaking railing section, multiple rotten deck floor boards and railings, - it almost felt unsafe.

This is the perfect weekend getaway. The house was very clean and we had a great experience. It was raining the weekend we went so we did not use the fire pit outside but the hottub was great for the cooler weather. Highly recommend staying here.
