Over all the home was suitable. The home was under contract to close so it looked as if the previous owner cleaned out the kitchen. We had to make several purchases in order to cook and most of the pots and pans were unusable. And there were roaches in many locations of the home which was kind of a cleanliness concern. The pool was very nice and the hot tub was clean. Hot tub jets do not operate either. This home needs a complete overhaul. Thanks for letting us enjoy this homes location and space.

We paid the full asking price for this rental, which is steep for our blue collar family, and stayed for a week in August, 2015. When we arrived the home didn't feel clean. It felt like a cheap hotel. The staff had not thoroughly cleaned our rental. The bedding was old. Several items did not work (dishwasher, remotes, ceiling fans, jets in tub and pool heater are among the items) We had repair people in and out of the rental while we were there. When we requested compensation for the long list of items that were wrong, the rental company could only offer to make good on our next stay. That would be wonderful, but my uncle who helped pay for the trip is suffering from prostate cancer and LGL leukemis and will not be able to make a repeat trip. Would it have been too much to compensate? The beach and surrounding area was great. We enjoyed touring the area, and we did appreciate the access to the beach from the home. We will never use this rental company again, or stay here. As a family we have been taught to make good on our wrongs. If they don't want to put the money into the home to repair and replace bedding and other items, then they should be willing to compensate. Thumbs Down On This One

Reviewer Comments: To start with, we paid $500.00usd for the pool to be heated and it was not even clean or the filter system was not even working when we arrived. We could tell that the pool had been serviced that day, as there was 2 chlorine tablets and the pool was shocked, that is the extent of the pool being serviced upon our arrival. The switch for the heater was not even on and once it was turned on, the read out on the heater showed call fro service. We called and emailed to report that and a few other issues and they said they were sending someone and no one ever came to our house to look into the issues. There sand all over every deck and pool area, as well as inside on the ground floor(we understand about the storm the prior week).When I called about the heated pool, they did not even realize that we had paid the $500.00usd for the heated pool. We loved the house last time we stayed and this time, not so much.

Several things were broken (advised the rental company, they came and noted they would be fixed in 24-48 hours and we never heard from them again). It could be that it's the end of the season and the house had been well used all summer but, given we paid full price for "shoulder season", we expected more. Several windows were in disrepair, broken tile, dryers took hours to finish a load and the AC never got the house below 75 degrees.

I saw after we had signed our lease that the price to rent had been reduced, and that is definitely appropriate. It is just not nice enough to be considered "luxury" accommodations.The couched are old and have cigarette burns in the cushions. The bedspreads are cheap, old and polyester.The wine glasses are all plastic.There is mildew stains in the master bath shower. Chipping old paint throughout.I requested that the hot tub and pool be cleaned on wednesday. I called again on thursday. No one came even on friday. We have a hot tub and pool at home and both are cleaned more than once a week...especially if there will be an additional influx of guests enjoying the water. Lots of steps to consider if there are elderly members of your group.Path to the beach would be nice, sand gets really hot.The Lucky 12 bar across the street is great!

The house was showing quite a bit of wear and tear, but again, it was end of season. My biggest disappointment was the pool. I had contacted the rental company a week prior to arrival time to remind them we had paid to have pool heated, and would they please follow up with that, as a heated pool was a big thing for us. We got there and the pool was 60 degrees. They sent pool guy out Sun am, but it was not til late in the day Sunday that it was warm enough to use. Then after it was serviced mid week, the heater stopped working and we needed maintenance again. maintenance was very responsive, but we were 2 days out of 7 without the pool.

Someday that person will pay for stealing! Nice girls at the reality office!!!!

The house was spacious and had amenities that supported our enjoyment of the stay. However, the house itself is in need of both renovation and maintenance. Things like cabinets, appliances, and bedding showed clear signs of significant use (like holes in the bedding). Additionally, we had several maintenance issues with the home that were called in: a master shower that was slow to drain (never fixed), a stove that was missing a burner pan (fixed), a stove burner whose heating element needed to be replaced (maintenance came out, but part had to be ordered). The biggest problems were with water damage. On the 2nd day of heavy rain, we awoke to water dripping through the lower level ceiling which was coming through the second floor slider from the balcony. While someone came out and was looking at the exterior, this was a huge issue, and we had to put a bucket out to catch the dripping water. Further, the master bathroom ceiling had clear water damage and possible mold from not being addressed. Finally, many of the sliding doors were not closing properly which likely were leading to some of the issues with water entrance to the house. Wish the house would have also had some cleaning conveniences, like a garbage disposal or even just a broom! We looked all over for a broom and never found one. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the condition of the house considering the price we paid out of season.

They are very quick to take your money but good luck getting them to call you or help you when there is a problem. My family and I including a 5 month old that is dependent on stored milk from a bottle went the entire week without a refrigerator in the kitchen. The fridge was broken upon arrival and was replaced the day we were leaving. We got the run around the entire time from the management company. They never once called me, I always had to call them to find out the status of the repair men. They fed me lies and empty promises the entire time. I have been recently emailing the General Manager Jason Ward and he is just as bad as all of the employees in the office and the property manager was useless never even apologizing for there mistakes. The only response I got from Jason was that he would look into the complaint and get back to me the next day which was over a week ago. The property itself was lacking maintenance in many areas and also didn't include a few amenities they advertised the property having. Renters beware! I will never rent from this company again and neither should you...

The relief area for our dog was a great benefit and easy to let the dog go and do its business. We had a minor issue with the electric can opener not working but received a new one the next day. A couple of the bathroom fans were not working but not an issue for us but we did report it for future repair. Location is fantastic and would definitely rent this house again. Only disconnect was with perceived free day access to Jeanette fishing pier. This was not provided and Beach Realty said owner made no provisions for this to be provided. Other than that, all was as advertised and we had an excellent stay. Great house for a large group of family or friends and very dog friendly with a fantastic central location on the outer banks. Within approximately an hour of both Cape Hatteras and Corolla and easy access to Roanoke Island.

It was our first trip to Nags Head and the Lazy Lizard grabbed our attention. Boy did it live up to our expectations! It's a beautiful, colorful house that couldn't be closer the beach. We loved the hot tub, fuss ball table, and gorgeous ever changing views from the third story windows. We even took a quick polar plunge in the pool in March! It's is a great location, directly across from a yummy tavern called Lucky 12 (amazing fried local oysters) and the most delicious fro-yo at Surfin' Spoon. But the proximity to the beach made it--we'd love to return some day!
