This was our 2nd time at the Bali house and it was a absolutely amazing again.
Our family & friends had the best time. We love the location of the house right on the beach…easy to walk the beach for all kinds of excursions from parasailing, surfing, jet skiing etc.
BIG SHOUT OUT to Maria the house concierge she is absolutely awesome!!! She was so helpful and made everything easy for us. She booked all of our excursions, groceries, dinner reservations and arranged all of our airport shuttles and to top it off has the best personality.
We also had Maria as our chef for 2 nights and 1 breakfast. Was the best decision and the yummiest of food:)
Thank you Fernando and Maria for making us feel at home at the Bali house.
Can’t wait to come back!

We got the whole family together to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Ages ranged from 6 to 66, and everyone had an amazing time. Our two grandsons lived in the pool (when they weren’t at the beach). The home’s layout allowed for both privacy—loved the en-suite baths fir each bedroom—and comfortable group gatherings. Monkeys visited daily, delighting everyone with their poolside antics. Easy walk down to the beach. We enjoyed delicious chef-prepared meals twice, walked up to a nearby restaurant the first night, and ordered takeout twice. Our tireless concierge was enormously helpful—driving us to the supermarket and arranging an array of excursions. Can’t recommend Bali House highly enough!

This is a beautiful house with wonderful people that take care of the property. The Bali House is the perfect place for people that want to be together, yet have your own space when desired. The villas are beautiful and spacious. The pool and outside area are mesmerizing. The monkeys that visit every day are a treat.
Maria takes hospitality to a different level. I have been in the service industry my whole life and can honestly say that Maria is next level. She made our vacation seamless; from planning activities to arranging airport transportation to cooking wonderful meals with her amazing Sous chef. And that is just the start. She even picked up pizza a couple of times for our ten year old when she was on the way over to cook us dinner. Please realize how wonderful she is and tip her more than you have ever tipped anyone.
The only thing I can reiterate from other reviews is the fact that the pictures of the place and property don’t do it justice. It may be one if the most unique and beautiful homes you will ever have the opportunity to stay at.
The only reason I am apprehensive to leave this review is because this is a hidden gem and I don’t want it to be booked up the next time I want to visit. I did extensive research on multiple platforms and am fortunate that this is the place I decided to book. I knew it when I saw it, but was still amazed when we arrived.
Thanks to Maria, her father Fernando, and Andrea and Brian.

The house is gorgeous! The pictures don’t do it justice. It is like having 5 beautiful master bedrooms with huge bathrooms in each room. The family room and pool are amazing. The walk to the beach is a beautiful tour through nature. We cannot speak highly enough about Maria and her team. We ended up having them cook most of our meals for breakfast and dinner. The food was outstanding! We leveraged the bartending services for an hour or 2 before each meal. The drinks were creative and very good. I highly recommend the Bali House! You will not be disappointed.

The Bali house is absolutely spectacular! Ideal for a family get a way that enjoy being in a jungle setting very near the beach. The staff was beyond great. The owner, John Masters & property manager, Fernando were very helpful. Our on site concierge and private chef, Maria Zuniga, was absolutely the best. She arranged lots of different things for us and she and her staff provided us with amazingly, delicious dinner meals.

Amazing place, so much prettier than the photos
We had a wonderful time at Bali House. It is beautiful and in an incredible setting. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, especially Maria. She cooked dinner twice (ask for her wonderful casadas) and picked up lots of groceries we requested. The monkeys they hire to entertain us were wonderful! Three times a day a group of around 6 Capuchin monkeys would come by the pool to eat coconuts and mango, clean each other, and just be a joy to watch. The paths on the property were fun to explore and the beach is wide (at low tide) and sandy, great for all ages to enjoy. We look forward to a return visit.

The BEST!
We loved every minute of our stay. An exceptional place. Maria cooked most of our meals. She is an amazing chef and enjoying her meals was a big part of what made our trip so wonderful. Our only complaint was that we had to leave at the end of our amazing week. Wildlife viewing from the deck is great. The walk to the beach is convenient - a huge plus. The main room is spacious with a lot of comfortable areas to choose from. The very long table for dining is perfect. The pool, the rooms, private/shared space combination - it’s all so incredibly perfect. Highly recommend.

Best Vacation Ever
The Bali House does not disappoint. This was my second stay here and it was just as amazing this year as it was 7 years ago. The views, the pool, the beach access, the grounds, and the hospitality is top notch. Maria and Fernando make the stay seamless. We really enjoyed zip lining, fishing, massages, and eating out in the area. We will definitely be back!

Couldn't be better
Bali House exceeded our very high expectations. It is a beautiful property with a concierge, Maria, who arranged to find us the best guides and tours. We had a once in a lifetime vacation between the pool, the beach, the monkeys and the service. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't go to on the Manuel Antonio tour, but just wanter around the property which has three kinds of moneys, frogs, lizards, and bats, and no crowds or entrance fees! It is a rainforest paradise, and Maria is also a superb cook.

Bali House - what a wonderful and beautiful home surrounded by natural beauty!
Our family of 11 gathered at Bali House (our first time in Costa Rica) celebrating being together, a grandfather's birthday, and a 45th anniversary and were completely inspired by the uniqueness of this breathtaking location.
Everything was there, a most comfortable and stunning home, the beach, wildlife, pool, and Manuel Antonio.
We couldn't have imagined the wonderful concierge, Maria, who welcomed us with her wonderful personality, happy heart and keen ability to guide us throughout our stay. She took great care to get to know each of us and with her expertise, Maria was always available to answer questions, book side trips (zip lining, inshore fishing, a sunset trimaran trip, National Park, etc.) and prepare the most amazing cultural cuisine, along with the assistance from Kiadda. Maria expertly accommodated us in every way and left our family with such a wonderful feeling of the best experience possible.
Fernando, Maria's father, was a joy in telling us about the property, managing day to day necessities and took us on a property hike which was a highlight.
The grounds and Bali House were always kept immaculate.
The first day we had a delicious family supper at Bali House. The second night we had a local supper out, but it could not compare so we planned supper at Bali House until we left.
The Manuel Antonio National Park was very enjoyable, but we had all the wonders right there at Bali House, white faced monkeys, howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, sloths, and toucans set on 44 acres of captivating jungle.
We came home realizing that we were so fortunate to have found Bali House and what a memory for us - one we will never forget. Thank you and can't wait to return!

AMAZING VACATION!
The property is even more magnificent in person. Everything was perfect and Maria was the best. We had 13 women `and there was more than enough room. The floor plan of the property was perfect for our group. I would more than recommend this property and the service is exceptional. the service included a housekeeper, landscaper, and concierge(Maria) . Of course we had 3 meals with the chef which for sure was a highlight. Thank you Maria for everything!!

Luxury in the jungle
Because of the siting of this luxurious house we had daily interactions with the wildlife who visited or were seen. A walk through the forest to the beach was a nature adventure! All the staff were friendly and most helpful. Be prepared for stairs.

Best house, best week EVER!
Oh. My. Goodness. We had an absolutely perfect week at the Bali House. It couldn’t have been better! The home is immaculate and simply gorgeous. (Photos don’t do it justice.) The main room is beautiful, airy and spacious. the bedrooms and bathrooms are decadent, the pool and deck area is amazing, and the jungle walk to the beach is magical. Even better, Fernando, Maria and the entire staff treated us like royalty. They booked our activities and helped us with shuttles and covid tests. The meals we ate there were unbelievable! We ate all but a couple meals at the house...the food was beyond delicious, and it was so nice to just eat right there in our own little paradise. The staff made us feel at home, and we now think of them as family. They truly elevated our experience! Of course, we loved the daily monkey visits, chilling in the pool and the easy walk to the almost-private beach. Perfect location, perfect house, perfect week! Don’t think about it. Just book it! Pura vida!!!

Amazing Week in Costa Rica
This property was in the perfect location and a perfect spring break getaway for our family of 5. Everyone could enjoy the beach and the town as they pleased since the house was on the beach. We loved it and would return in a heartbeat.

We visited in June 2018. The house, pool and setting are beautiful— it is an uplifting experience to stay here. We had a family of 10; 6 adults and 4 children ages 8-11. Maria Z. was our concierge and we emailed many times before the the trip to set up activities. She spoke perfect English, made restaurant reservations for us, called taxi, etc. It was a great help to have her make a list in advance to have Fernando (her father) stock the house with basic groceries. He put it on a tab, and gave us the receipt (no markup). He is the maintenance fellow easily available by phone. His wife did the cooking with Maria doing the setup, serving and cleanup. The helper was Andrea, a younger person who cleaned the kitchen, washed clothes, and made us 3 kinds of fresh fruit each morning. We chose to eat at the Bali House on alternate nights. The cost of each meal was about $28 per person. (Maria decided not charge for our granddaughter, saying she did not eat enough) I paid her cash USD each time just to keep up with it. For us, eating in was about the same as the cost of eating out and was so easy. Her hors d’oeurves were fantastic. We often had lunch the next day from leftovers. The pool was perfect. Many monkey visits to the mango tree on the deck. The beach about 150 yards down a gentle slope on a concrete walkway with bamboo railings, through what is essentially your own little private jungle. Unlock the loungers held by a chain, and unlock the gate (code for both). Easy. Beach was essentially our own—just a few people walk by, and some on horseback. Walk down the beach toward the national park a half mile and there are bars and restaurants, and you arrange the parasailing directly from the beach. There were no “beach toys” at the house as there were in some reviews. We rented a surfboard and boogie boards from a place on the beach and kept them just inside the gate. From the back of the house (the side away from the ocean), it is a very steep walk up a concrete driveway, maybe 200 yards up to the main road. We like to walk, but the main road is narrow with very little room for walkers, but you do get used to it.Taxi fare was usually about $15 US plus tip. The drivers were very accommodating, and would take us to the grocery, wait on us, then bring us back.Tipping was at the end, suggested $10 per room per day, so $50 per day. Internet was good, faster than I expected. The entire experience was a joy. We couldn't be happier at our choice.

Bali House is a stunning property that feels as if it has been dropped right into the forest.
From the patio of Bali House you look over the tops of the trees to the beach and the beautiful sunsets. From the walkway to the beach you are in the rainforest. All the bedrooms are very comfortable and the common areas are cozy and inviting. Everyone took wonderful care of us. Bali House is extraordinary, unlike anything we have ever experienced!

2nd visit
I loved it so much the 1st time I had to return. This time was actually better than the 1st. I did not get to meet Maria on my 1st visit. The pictures are amazing but to be there is indescribable. I traveled with 4 other couples who had not done a property rental. I was a little apprehensive. Turns out it was the best vacation ever. I can’t say enough good things about this place and of course Fernando and Marie made it that much better. I will be back.

This place cannot be beat!
This past week, 10 adults stayed at this amazing property for my 50th Birthday. I searched for just the right place to celebrate my 50th Birthday and am so glad we selected this house!
I can honestly say that the photos do not do this place justice. Everyone in our group all commented that this was our best vacation thus far. Although we did do several activities (I.e. White water rafting, zip lining, snorkeling, sailing, sky diving), all we wanted to do was get back to the house and enjoy the offerings there. We stayed in a few days and had Tito come to prepare a few meals at night. They were amazing! We also cooked ourselves several times and had everything we needed.
We will definitely go back, but I am afraid that we are spoiled to be able to stay anywhere else when we do.
Thank you Alejandra, Maria and Fernando for making our trip extra special. Can't wait for our return visit.

This is the one
Our family just returned home from a wonderful week long stay at the Bali House. The house is larger and more beautiful in person than the photos convey. All 5 of the suites are complete masters with their own decks and ample space. Fernando and the staff clearly love the house and grounds and they took excellent care of us. Tito Borge catering prepared 8 meals for us, and Alejandro and Tito are both excellent chefs. Being able to just relax and stay in our swimming suits for a meal removed all of the stress of meal preparation and cleanup or even going out. When we did go out for a few meals though, it was a great experience. Many excellent restaurants are within walking distance - though after trekking up the steep and slippery street, we realized that its worth a few dollars for cabs in spite of the short distance. The beach is beautiful and is just a short walk on a private sidewalk through the beautiful jungle gardens. We spent most mornings in the ocean and most afternoons in the pool. It rained for a short period every day, but the rain was always pleasant when it arrived, and the house is perfectly suited to enjoy even the occasional heavy thunderstorm. A troop of monkeys arrived like clockwork each morning and again in the evening, and the kids had named each of them by the end of the trip. Truly a 5 star experience. Thanks to Peter and Fernando, and all who made it so great!

Fantastic!
Absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way. Fernando was so helpful, Desiree's meals were delicious and Sylvia's massages were the best. If I could change one thing I would add more lighting to the beautiful bathrooms. Perfect vacation home for adults or families with older children.

Yoga Retreat in Absolute Paradise
We enjoyed our 1st trip to Casa Bali so much, we decided to come back and host a week-long Yoga & Meditation retreat here with 10 women. It was absolute paradise and exceeded all of our expectations (which were high to begin with)!!! The property was even more magical than we remembered ~ daily visits from monkeys, the sound of the waves crashing, so many exotic birds, the ocean & infinity pool to cool us down, lounging in hammocks, sunset beach walks.... One of the biggest treats was that an adorable baby sloth was discovered at the property and every day we would check in on it to see where it was snuggling.
Although it was the wet season, the weather was beautiful and only rained a few times which we really enjoyed. We hosted morning and afternoon meditation/yoga classes (the property offers an indoor and outdoor space); we felt completely immersed in nature and peace. Evenings were spent with fun activities such as art, dance, & moonlit swims. We hired Desiree to prepare all of our meals which were over-the-top incredible ~ dishes like organic kale fritters, mahi mahi, tuna sashimi, fresh salads, tropical fruit, gallo pinto, seafood paella, lobster, banana flambée, tres leches cheesecake...you get the picture :) The house manager's wife can also prepare dishes for you but she was unavailable for this trip. We did experience her cooking last year and loved it.
The staff is so friendly and helpful ~ they truly care about each and every person having a joyful, stress-free experience. We felt like one big Costa Rican family living the Pura Vida life. The house manager helped us set up a few tours: ziplining, vanilla spice tour, and a guided tour of Manuel Antonio Parc (highly recommended). A favorite place for happy hour was Barba Roja (a short cab ride or a walk). We had a great time walking into town via the beach and shopping.
This property offers the perfect experience of everything Costa Rica has to offer: rainforest, jungle, beach, friendly town; you can be as active or inactive as you'd like. The property itself is stunning with lovely amenities like AC (not very common in Costa Rica). And it actually is beach-front ~ some rental homes claim to be beach-front when in reality they are high up on a cliff. I visited several retreat centers all over the country and this was by far the best option for our retreat. We are already planning another one next year! Thank you to everyone at Casa Bali for making our experience truly unforgettable.

A beautiful house in a beautiful location
This is a great house for a large group of family or friends. There is lots of space for everyone to do their own thing, but still gather for meals, etc. The beach is a short walk, but the monkeys keep the kids entertained. Can't wait to go back!

It was beautiful! Loved the open air living area.
We have been back almost a week and everyone has gone home (one family to California, one to Arkansas, one to Oregon and one to their home here in Kennesaw, GA) and they are still talking about our trip! We miss the wonderful service and the wonderful food(our daughter said Sunday morning “Where is Fernando with those yummy pancakes?), the beautiful view, and the grand kids miss the “good” monkey’s!! Fernando, you were so kind to all of us and especially our grandchildren, you made it feel like home. Maria helped us navigate the language issues and get what we needed from the store, the zip line adventure was such a hit. Andrea looked after us and went above and beyond to keep the laundry done (a lot of that with young children) and teach us about the monkey’s. We are so appreciative for such a great time-truly was a “trip of a lifetime”!!!

AMAZING, RELAXING !!!
Myself along with 13 ladies went down to costa rica for a Bach/babe vacation. Where to even start it was AMAZING!!! The staff were amazing Fernando his wife and daughter were like family to us. The food was prepared by the family and was just delish. We had monkey's come to the house everyday which really made us feel like we were in the jungle. The beach is about a 3 min walk through the trees (which was cool) with our own entrance. Beautiful Beautiful sunsets. Fernando organized our excursions which made it simple and stress free. For any younger folk wanting to go there are great bars in town with live music. It was also a great place to relax all of the ladies loved the experience and we would 100% recommend this place to a family/couple/group of friends.

Excellent House, Beautiful Beach and Grounds
Our family of 10 (7 adults and 3 children) have just completed a memorable 12 day vacation at the Bali House on the Akira Reserve. The house exceeded our expectations. Having the rain forest vegetation close to the house and deck keeps you close to nature. We had several visits from the entertaining capuchin and squirrel monkeys and saw two sloths in the trees along the path. A special thank you to Fernando and his staff for taking care of our every need. Everything from buying groceries, arranging car rental and preparing meals to booking excursions was handled efficiently and promptly. All of us have many happy memories that will last a lifetime.

BEAUTIFUL HOME, PRIVATE BEACH ACCESS!
My family of 10 adults had the pleasure of enjoying the Bali House in February 2015. We enjoyed the home so much we cancelled some of our excursions just so we could spend more time on the beach, which has private access from the Bali House and enjoy the monkeys that visited us everyday. I highly recommend and will definitely return next year!

Great wildlife encounters on the property.
Premium beach access.
All in all a wonderful experience. Thanks to Peter and the entire team.

A beautiful experience at the bali house.
The House is amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. We were visited every day by howler monkeys, whiter face monkeys, and squirrel monkeys. There's also the local sloths.
We were looking for a big house with a private beach access that could accommodate our group . Once we saw the great pictures of the house we realized, we knew we had to book this house. Booking this house was easy. Fernando, the concierge worked with me to make sure that we had all the things we needed, he answered our many questions, what we could expect, and all other vacation questions. He was there for any issue that we might have, and to be our local fixer. He and his wife Ileana cooked us many dinners and breakfast almost every day. The meals were very good. We also went to really good restaurants near the house.
The cleaning lady, Andrea and the staff were friendly and very nice to talk to.
We loved our Costa Rican Trip! We hope to come back again.

Perfect Private Getaway
My friend recommended this place to me, saying it was well worth the cost because you basically stay in a downtown abbey treehouse. Though there wasn't any fun british drama, there were six people on staff to make sure our stay was impeccable. The pool was gorgeous. Because it's an infinity pool, there were literally NO bugs floating on the water. Hard to believe in the middle of a rain forest! The bathrooms are amazing. Clean, gorgeous, with good water pressure in the showers. This place was truly beautiful. And we were right on the water. A minute's walk to the beach, if that. Though it's technically a public beach, there were maybe one or two other people for about a mile's radius. In the far distance we could see beach umbrellas, but it was basically our own private slice of ocean. It was awesome because we could see no other houses from our deck, but at the same time if we wanted to go out to eat, we could get to several cute local restaurants just by walking! I would strongly recommend this place to anyone with the financial resources to pay for it. There are enough rooms that you could get a big group of friends to go and split the cost. That's what I want to do so that I can go again.

A Luxury Treehouse on the Beach
This house had the perfect combination of being so close to the beach we could touch our feet to the sand in under a minute and being clouded by enough jungle that we could escape to complete privacy whenever we wanted. From the infinity pool, we couldn’t see anything but ocean, sky, and trees. I learned that the only houses on the whole 30-acre property were owned by the same person who owns the Bali House, which made me feel very safe. A staff of six people worked at the house, cleaning the pool and the bedrooms and doing laundry. They were very friendly, even though I didn’t speak any Spanish, and they very much kept to themselves. The pool and air conditioning made the hot weather more than tolerable. It was really nice to sit on the deck at night when the air would cool just a bit and sip a glass of wine. The pool light reflected the stars in a gorgeous way that made me feel as though I were sitting at the edge of the universe. For dinner we could walk 15 minutes to get to local restaurants. I cannot stress how delicious chicken is in Costa Rica. I don’t know what they do differently there, but it is amazing. All in all, my Costa Rica vacation was a luxury and a dream. I can only hope I will be able to get another group together and stay at the Bali House again sometime soon.

MOST GORGEOUS HOME IN PLAYA ESPADILLA
My family and I we stayed from the 13th to the 20th at Bali house. It was the perfect getaway. My family and I can not wait to return again next summer . The house is beautiful and unique having an incredible architectural design perfectly suited for relaxation and sharing with family and friends. It was great with everything we could possibly need, the dining area with its gorgeous large table, the expansive living room and the 5 beautiful bedrooms with private baths. The patio allowed for our family to spend evenings together while listening to the roaring ocean, in the mornings we could hear the howler monkeys around the house and see the titi monkeys walking around the deck. The pool was large enough to really swim in, and the ocean is less than a minute away. Everything was so perfect. . What a beautiful beach! We took several long walks along the water's edge. We often watched the surfers, swam or just lazily read a book.
Back at the house we had the best time ever! We had a great time being quite lazy there for hours and hours. Of course there was a lot to do nearby too.
Their are several good restaurants, all reasonably priced. As if that were not enough, we also appreciated the excellent staff. The property manager, Fernando, was super helpful and he was willing to assist with any problems and makes great recommendations for things to do, places to go, etc.
We highly recommend this wonderful house with confidence. The owner is an excellent communicator and will accommodate whatever needs you may have.

GREAT STAY,WONDERFUL HOUSE, PERFECT LOCATION
This house is absolutely perfect for family and friends vacation,we enjoyed every minute of our time there. The house has all the amenities you could ask for and makes you feel at home. Excellent staff , they are always there for whatever you need. And everything you could possibly need is just minutes away.
The house is situation between the jungle and less than a minute walk to the Ocean and provides so many options, Every day you can see, monkeys sloths lizards etc...
The pool area is great, We spend a lot of time playing around there. at night is so nice to hear the waves of the sea , and feel the relaxing breeze . It is like being in paradise.
The 'parents' were also able to enjoy a relaxing vacation because the teenagers had many options to keep them busy. If you are considering a trip to the beach, I would highly recommend this house.
The house exceeded my expectations, We do plan on coming back again. If there were more stars they would be added here!

More than just a house
The Bali House is more than just a house. Imagine renting out your own resort. That's right your own resort. We recently returned from a short stay at this gorgeous place and couldn't have been more happy. Yes a few things could be better (hot water in master) (ants in kitchen) but let me explain we would go back in a heartbeat. We have been to Manuel Antonio and stayed at great resort houses like Tulemar and Issimo suites. This takes it to a different level. Picture having your own beautiful room and view but sharing a common area with all of your best friends. Each couple had a romantic suite packed with exquisite furniture and amazing fixtures. When we decided to wake up we went into the giant family room which is shared by all. Great appliances, great furniture and a view of the pool that goes on forever.
If you can ever get out of the pool, its a short walk to the beach. The closest house I've seen so far in Manuel Antonio. A romantic path leads you down to whats considered a public beach. However, we had it to ourselves. We used the houses boogie boards and chairs on the beach and had a great time.
The location was excellent. A bit of a steep short walk to the main road where you can catch the bus easily. Also Raphael Terrazzo is directly above with music and good food.
Don't change a thing Peter, the place is lovely!

We had an amazing week at the Bali House! So private but so close to the beach, town and restaurants. Plenty of sleeping room, large rooms and the pool is a great draw! Could not have asked for a better staff! Loved that we could walk to the National Park and enjoy the beach walking home. Everyone was so welcoming and the food was superb! Highly recommend and will return asap!!
