The location of this apartment is excellent. We can recommend Café Mango for excellent meals (especially the langoustines). Monoprix, Castle, Beaux Arts not far to walk. Excellent bus service from nearby Hotel de Ville stop: easy to get to station, airport, Memorial museum etc Sadly we didn't meet the owners so it seems we missed out there according to other reviews but the check in and out was made very easy courtesy of his lovely neighbour, Gérard.

We were so glad to stay in this place on the old square! What a find. We wished we'd been able to stay another day. Thanks to our hosts and to the friend who checked us in. For others travelling as foot passengers via ferry, we were surprised at the lack of taxis at the port and then in the city centre where the bus dropped us off. Find a map to get you to this treasure of a location. We took a bus to the Caen War Museum which was a day well spent. The abbey close by is impressive. The layers of history enveloped us in such stimulating ways, reminding we Canadians of the complexities of all our histories. Thanks for this opportunity to experience Caen in this special way at "Centre Ancien". It was memorable and too short. To other visitors: stay and savour this place!

Charming and comfy apartment in great location for getting around and feeling at home in Caen. Our hosts greeted us at out much-delayed bus, provided not only breakfast basics, but treats too. If we hadn’t bought our return tickets, we might never have left.

The apartment was excellent and Jean Francois and his wife looked after us very well, including driving us to the train station, when a taxi booking would have been OK.

We loved the location - very central to many interesting local sights, bakeries, restaurants, bars and other amenities. The Friday market was a highlight and we enjoyed cooking our fresh food and veggies in our cozy little apartment. Caen is a great location if you want to explore Normandy and we felt right at home in this comfortable apartment.

Nice apartment in an historic building situated in the center of Caen. Restaurants and shopping close by. Jean-Francoise was responsive and provided much helpful information.

This comfortable and beautifully decorated apartment is ideally located within easy walking distance of many of Caen's historic sites. There are wonderful cafes, a great wine store, produce shops, boulangeries, and department stores a short walk away. The Friday morning street market has everything you could want from great fresh food to antiques. The hosts are welcoming and gracious and the apartment is well stocked with necessities. We will be back!

Our stay in Caen at this property could not have been better. The location was convenient for dining in nearby restaurants and visiting old town. Jean Francois was very helpful. He called taxis for us and was available if we needed assistance. The property was very well stocked! Everything we needed was provided. The fridge was stocked with milk, homemade jelly, juice, butter, yogurt and cheese. Upon arrival, we enjoyed delicious homemade treats, but didn’t get the chance to savour the wine. The property was extremely clean. We would return to this property without hesitation.

Wonderful old world charm in a beautiful building. Hidden garden in the back was peaceful addition to the soaring ceilings of the apartment. Great location near the resting place of William the Conquerer and other historical sites.

We were greeted by the owner who was so charming making us feel welcomed. The apartment is located on a wide mostly pedestrian street with many restaurants that have outdoor seating in a lovely setting. The apartment was so well equipped we felt right at home. Good location. The purpose of our trip was to visit the WW11 sites. It was an easy drive from the apartment to the Normandy landing beaches, American Cemetery and the Caen WW11 museum. We would definitely stay at this property again.

This stay in Caen will never be forgotten. The apartment was perfect, the hosts were way more accommodating than one would ever expect-- we felt like family members and hope they will visit us in the states. Just a lovely place in the perfect part of the city. Thank you so much!! 😗�

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Caen! The property is in a great location, quite literally in the center of the city. We were able to explore the charming streets and shops just by walking. The apartment was as shown in the photos, completely furnished, including a well stocked supply of basic foodstuffs! The only issue we had was that there was no heat in the apartment and we were quite chilled the entire time we were in residence. We only saw the landlord briefly, and he advised that the hot water to the radiators was controlled by the city. In the four mornings we were there, the heat came on for an hour or so on two mornings. Otherwise, we were very pleased with the accommodations.

This is a well furnished apartment with 2 lovely hosts. Off street parking was provided in their back yard garden. Very good supply of utensils and towels etc. Great location near the D-Day invasion beaches. We would be happy to visit and stay again

This was a lovely apartment in an area that is easily accessible by public transit. We enjoyed our stay very much and the our hosts were wonderful!

We loved the apt! The location was fantastic! In the middle of everything but surprisingly quiet. Great light! The kitchen was well equipped for us DYI'ers. Jean-Francois and Jocelyne were very gracious hosts. When we arrived with a larger hire car, they accommodated straight away us by letting us park in their "garden". And the almond cookies Jocelyne made were quite lovely! Thank you both for making our Caen/Normandy stay very, very memorable!

What a beautiful apartment, right on the main square. It is in the middle of everything, but still quiet. Jocelyn and Jean-Francois were such fantastic hosts, with lovely treats to welcome us. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We loved this apt for our 3 night stay. The location was wonderful. The hosts were excellent, the apt had all the essential facilities one could want or need. Wifi was very good. We would love to return to Caen and stay there again. Thank you. Barbara and Don Thomas Windsor , On, Canada
