Recommend to book a car to get around

We (family of 5) just had an absolutely wonderful 12 day stay at Villa Cavour. The highlights: Very helpful, communicative and efficient host who answered all our questions and very kindly allowed us a late check out on our last day, as we had a late flight home. The villa was very clean and had everything we needed - very well equipped kitchen including dishwasher, utility room with washing machine, gas barbeque on the terrace, plenty of crockery and glasses, an abundance of towels and tea towels, outside seating, 2 sunbeds, 2 beach umbrellas, drying racks for clothes, large satellite TV, excellent WIFI and very good air conditioning throughout the main house (though not in the separate basement area where there are 2 of the bedrooms and 1 bathroom). The layout of the terrace, pool area (clean, well maintained) and garden (lush grass) is perfect. Plenty of space and the most wonderful panoramic views. You can float on a lilo in the pool and see mountains in one direction and a sea view in the other - and in the morning the most glorious sunrise over the sea and in the evening an equally glorious sunset over the mountains! The location is very good. A 2 minute walk to a lovely local restaurant (Da Tony) and another 3 mins into the main area of Budoni which has shops, bars and plenty of other restaurants. Every evening whilst we were there (in August) the main road was pedestrianised from about 8pm and market stalls were set up selling local produce (handicrafts and food). Budoni has a lovely atmosphere - feels like there are more locals than tourists there and it is calm and friendly with a buzz of people out having fun in the evenings. There is a large supermarket a 5 min drive (25 min walk - abit hot and hilly!) away which has all you need and a smaller one a 10 min walk away. If you are looking for pure relaxation in lovely surroundings, or for a base to explore the North / East of Sardinia then this is perfect. We have promised ourselves a return visit!

These are not criticisms, just comments for your awareness on things that were not clear to us from the description. The main house has 2 floors - ground with big lounge, kitchen, a double room, a twin room and a bathroom and utility room, and a first floor with double room and ensuite bathroom. The remaining 2 bedrooms and third bathroom (and small kitchen / lounge) are in the basement, which is a separate area only accessible from outside the house (external stairs by the house entrance). We did not need to use this area, so cannot comment on comfort or temp (there is no air conditioning) but it looked good for privacy and was clean and well equipped). The other thing that is worth noting is that the villa is not actually beachfront (as in not right by the beach). There is a beautiful (and not too busy) beach but it is a 25 min walk or 5 min drive. We had a hire car so drove there (no issue with parking) but it would have been a very hot and tiring walk (especially coming back up the hill!). This was not an issue for us, but might be for those without a car who like the beach. In summary though, nothing that we did not like about our stay!

Facilities, location, sunrise and uncomplicated check-in /-out. Very friendly owner! Thank you. We will come again.

nothing, except the neighboor house which has a lot of craps in the garden/yard and unfortunately it spoils the view a bit... When the bushes around the pool have grown things will get better.

Amazing property with great views, great pool, good well kept garden, great social space both in the property and on the large covered veranda, close to Busoni centre, not too far from the local beach, close to good roads to see the East and North of Sardinia. Brilliant owner who communicated brilliantly and was so easy to speak with. Excellent in every way.
