Our recent stay on Lake Martin was perfect. The home was beautiful, spacious and centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Communication with DiDi was easy and check in process could not have been better. We spent our days relaxing, visiting all the restaurants, tubing and exploring. The porch overlooking the lake was amazing. We hope to return soon!

Our family stay here to celebrate Mother's Day and our daughter's graduation for Auburn Vet School. We had a wonderful time and this house was amazing. The location is great and the size was perfect for all of us(9). The porch and dock area is where we spent most of our time and it is beautiful!!!! We are already thinking of a time we can all stay there again!!

Had an amazing week at Lake Martin. The house and property is beautifully maintained, spacious and welcoming. So many personal touches throughout the home with a kitchen that is beyond well equipped. We absolutely loved Hancel’s Haven and look forward to a repeat visit next summer.

The mattresses in most of the rooms were not very comfy but for our stay it was fine. The pillows could use an upgrade. The Auburn/historical room was very interesting. We really enjoyed the house and our week stay. We made lots of memories!!

The upstairs barn wood panelled game room is like a fun museum filled civil war, football and wild west memorobilia! But, by far, the BEST part of the house is the lovely back porch and swimming dock where we spent most of our time. There is not detail left out of this wonderful vacation home! We had grandparents, adults, young adults and a teens and a pre-teen!

This home was perfect! It has all of the amenities you could possibly need. The location is in a great cove off the main water. Easy boat access. The property owner was very easy to work with and communicated quickly. We’ll be back for sure!

We had a large family gathering for my mother's 80 birthday party. The house and grounds were perfect for us from the oldest in the family to the 2 babies. We boated and floated for 4 days and loved every minute. The marina is a quick boat or car ride!. Didi was very accommodating and was always qucik to respond. The kitchen was well stocked with all drawers labeled - wow! There was plenty of seating inside and the porch was well used for additional seating and dancing. There are other nearby properties on VRBO that allowed our group to reach a total of 35. We will definitely try this again!

Loved this wonderful house on Lake Martin ! It had tons of space for our family and we so enjoyed visiting on the huge porch ! Close to Kowliga and The Landing so that was a plus for us ! The owner was so easy to work with! Will rent again for sure !!

Did was excellent to work with and the house was spacious. We loved the front porch and upstairs pool table. The Landing restaurant is 4 minute drive from the house as well making it a fantastic location. Thank you for a great trip

Other reviews have said the pictures don't do this property justice and that is true! The house and property are just amazing. Very well maintained and a delight to stay there. The house is so solid and well built, you can just feel the quality that went into building it and the decor is so well done, we felt like we were staying with friends. The front yard has a slope down to the boathouse on one side and a boardwalk down to the floating dock on the other side, neither one a hard trek. We were going to rent a poontoon boat from Real Island Marina but you have to have an Alabama Vessel License so we ended up spending the day floating on the lake. So relaxing and just what we all needed. The water was perfect although we did get a little too much sun! We were going to go to The Landing at Parker Creek one evening for dinner but no one wanted to leave the house! We grilled out two nights and all sat around the big dining table, it was great!! The size of the house gave more than enough room for the six of us (one couple had to back out). The barn room is a history buffs dream and being Auburn fans really helps, War Eagle! And last but not least, Didi was very accomadating and was there when we needed her on any questions that we had. We would definitely stay at Hancel's Heaven again!

This property is on a very beautiful, tranquil setting. The house is more than a rental; it is a true home and is extremely comfortable and well appointed. We had a wonderful time with our family at this graciously decorated and beautiful home.

We loved our stay at Hancel's Heaven. Lots of room! Great view of the Lake! We loved the big southern style porch! It was a great place for late afternoon coffee and fellowship time with family! Such a lovely home with beautiful decor! We enjoyed swimming, fishing, skiing, wake boarding and just enjoying time with family. Great place for a family to stay and make wonderful memories!

The home is lovely, and everything we needed was provided for. We had a multi generational vacation here, and the house was perfect. The driveway down to the door is steep, but we had no real problems with it. It's quite a hike up to the trash bins, so we sent the young ones to take out the trash. There are stairs, if anyone has trouble with them. We adored the porch looking out over Lake Martin, and we spent a lot of time there and on the dock. There are 2 docks. One has deeper water and there's shallow water by the other dock. The kitchen is wonderful for several cooks to get together and do their thing. I definitely would recommend Hancel's Heaven. Be aware that there are antiques in the home. We did have small children with us, though, and the antiques were safe since the children were so well-behaved. Didi was responsive. Note: the neighbors don't like fireworks. They scare the dogs.

Beautiful, large home for our family. We all had a wonderful time - ages 8 years through 72 years. Great swimming in the clean lake, also. Thank you Didi for sharing your lake home,, Hancel's Heaven!
