Wonderful stay on a wonderful island! The place was very clean and stocked with all the items you would require. Communication with Ingrid was perfect and seamless. Definitely recommend and hope to be back one day!

Ingrid & Amon Falstrom are the perfect welcoming hosts. The neighborhood apt. has nice, airy 2nd floor views. Wake up each day to chirping birds, lulled to sleep at night by coquí frog & chameleon gecko songs. Well appointed, very well-maintained old school furnishings. Well-stocked linens, towels & amenities. A+ lanai perfect for reading writing, meditating, PT exercises, & mindful quiet time. Apt. has amazing cross-ventilation. Free covered parking space is included! Amon is a building contactor, so the apt. has beautiful floors, area rugs, small, but very clean bathroom, very good ppainting finishes inside & out. Very high quality kitchen utensils, dishes, & utensils. Soaps, kitchen & bath supplies all made conveniently available! This can easily be THE go-to-stay place in Hilo!

We’ve booked here three times! It’s a great place to stay. So conveniently located, right in a neighborhood in Hilo by a golf course. The host family is next door and Ingrid is very helpful, communicative, and responsive. The photos on VRBO are accurate and the place is clean. Great property with beautiful view on the Golf Club . The big, very clean studio full of light with great balcony to enjoy coffee with tropical fruits! The apartment has a nice kitchen, living area, and a king size bed. Ingrid's hospitality is extraordinary.!

A travel companion and I spent three nights with Ingrid and Amon in a studio apartment adjacent to their Hilo home. The apartment met our needs perfectly and the lush green setting, adjacent to the local public golf course was a treat. We walked to the clubhouse restaurant for dinner and drinks, very satisfactory. They serve breakfast and lunch also. We used the local transport system to travel to all locations (except on Sunday when some lines do not run), including the Volcano Natl Park. The apartment is quiet, restful, very clean, equipped with everything we needed. Rain, Coqui frogs, far-away roosters and other noises were not an issue, merely adding to the ambience. We made wonderful juice each morning from the tangelos gathered by Ingrid and her son, many thanks! Highly recommend! Thank you Ingrid and Amon, if life allows I will return some day.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was neat and clean and came with everything you need or want for a pleasant stay. The owners are very pleasant and extremely accomidating.

It was quiet, beautiful, roomy, and perfect! Large studio area, full kitchen, large lanai and close to everything!!! We will definitely stay here again!

The property location was convenient for dining in Hilo, visiting Volcano, Maunakea and other attractioms in the area. Ingrid was very friendly and the room was very spacious. It has everything you need for short and long stay there. Highly recommended.

Ingrid’s place had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The studio is clean and well-stocked with all the essentials in the kitchen and bath. The bed was comfortable and the breeze flowing through the room lovely. We enjoyed the lanai for our breakfast every day. We will definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay at this Vrbo! The location was perfect and the studio was comfy. We enjoyed the lanai, having a kitchen, and the size of the studio. The ice marker in the refrige was also a plus. Ingrid was quick to respond when we had questions/maintenance items. Usually I prefer a stay that is more anonymous, but in this case, having the host onsite worked great. We enjoyed our stay so much that we already booked for next year, 2023!! Can’t wait.

Hosts were very accommodating. When we told them the TV didn’t work, they ran out and bought a new one! Very spacious studio!

If you want to have a wonderful stay, book this studio with Ingrid and Amon. We shared a feeling of family-friendly for an entire month. They were responsive to special requests. The facilities were comfy, clean, convenient, well-furnished and very helpful. If you want to stay away from tourist crowds and expensive resorts for the uber-wealthy, this is your place. It's well-situated for activities in the Puna, Volcano and Hamakua areas. We also happen to love Hilo and the calm neighborhood of Iwalani.

We had a good experience staying here. The studio is very spacious and clean. Ingrid was a very welcoming host who made sure that we knew where everything was.

We felt like we walked into a beautiful warm Hawaiian home. So welcoming. The wonderful soft trade winds coming through the windows and the soothing sounds of the Hilo rain falling on the tin roof, coqui frogs and birds singing was such an amazing experience. Very clean, the hostess was so welcoming, beautiful exotic fruit trees and all the amenities needed for a very restful, peaceful vacation. The only downside that we could find was we couldn’t pack up the place and take it back with us. If we return, we’d definitely try to rebook here. Highly recommend. 10 stars out of 5.

This studio was a great base for all our adventures on the east side of the island, which is so incredibly beautiful. It was a quick drive/excellent day-trip to Volcanoes National Park, Waipio Valley, etc. Ingrid was so helpful with everything we asked. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and has a great kitchen with everything you need to make your own meals and grocery stores within a few minutes drive of the residential neighborhood. We enjoyed our breakfasts on the balcony. I would note that there are pet dogs and cats on the property. We would definitely stay here again if back in Hilo!

Loved the studio. Very nice. Close to town and highway. Only complaint is the barking dog at 4 a.m. every morning. Travelers tip: Hilo is the cooler side and we only brought light clothes, just happened to be cold when we were there and no heat in the room. Bring an umbrella!

We had lots of room for our stuff and the area is just fine. The host family is very nice and responsive to little things. We would definitely stay here again if we come to Hilo

This studio was perfect for me and my husband. Much larger than a hotel room, full kitchen, and enjoyed my morning Kona coffee. We took morning walks around the neighborhood, and our hosts were next door and able to turn off my curling iron that I left on. Location central to all the activities we did. Had a great time on the big island. We will come back!
