The best, most spacious space for a yoga retreat. The yoga Shala is clean and equipment provided is good quality and well organized. The house concierge, Kathy, is the super helpful and a great communicator. 5+ stars!!!

Fantastic property, excellent property management & overall great experience

The villa is huge with plenty of room for a large group. The outdoor kitchen area has plenty of seating and the pool is amazing. It is just a short walk to the beach and you can walk into town easily or take a short golf cart ride. It was our 3rd trip to Nosara and this house is by far the best Villa in town. Kathy the concierge is super helpful and took care of all of the planning for us. We had a wonderful vacation and we cannot wait to go back!

Casa Del Alces was the very best place for our Yoga retreat! 16 of us gathered to practice, swim, eat the most delicious, healthy food, experience monkeys, turtles surf and sun!!! The resort is beautiful. All the rooms around the pool are very comfortable and cool. The outdoor kitchen, patio and seating areas are lovely and great for a big group. We were a famiky of 6 adults and 6 children and everyone loved it. The gardens are so beautiful and the location is perfect. We were a big group (13) and needed the extra room this house provided. Rooms were clean and neat. We did a have a few issues with AC, leaks and minor problems but they were resolved very quickly. There was someone there working most every day between the maintenance/yard guy, the maid who washed clothes and brought us paper products to the concierge who was there when we needed and booked us wherever we wanted to go. Pool was awesome and heavily used as was the swim up bar. Walks to the beach were often as is was just down the road. We rented two six person golf carts and they were perfect for our group. Excellent house! Would stay there again!

Our family of 7 adults and 5 children had a wonderful stay at Casa de Alces! The property was perfect for our family; lots of space, plenty of amenities, well- equipped kitchens (indoor and outdoor) and an amazing pool. We knew when we booked that it was during Costa Rica’s rainy season and we did experience a few downpours but the beauty of the Casa was that we could still be outside under cover while enjoying the incredible nature surrounding us during the storms. The property is very well maintained and we especially loved the upstairs space for the little ones to run around and expend energy! A big thank you to Kathy, our concierge. Kathy was such an amazing asset; arranging airport transportation, stocking the kitchen with groceries, arranging tuk tuks for additional grocery shopping and on very short notice arranging transport back to the Casa for 12 after dinner at a restaurant on a very rainy night. Kathy was so responsive - she eliminated any potential stress we might have had travelling with 5 young children. It had been 17 years since we were last in Nosara but we will definitely be back sooner next time!

We absolutely loved our stay at this spectacular home. Very large and spacious property yet perfect for mingling around the pool. The outdoor lounge and kitchen were used way more than the inside. Beds very comfortable. We practiced yoga on the upstairs shala several times and it was the most beautiful space I’ve ever practiced. Very safe. Pablo is a superstar and took care of many reservations for our group. He followed up on everything several times and made us feel like we were his only guests in Nosara. First class service! The housekeepers (Everly) and maintenance team (Jorge) were also so friendly and terrific. TODO PERFECTO!!!!

I stayed here with my extended family of 14 with an age range from an infant up to the elderly. The space was perfect in size to accommodate all of us comfortably. The only area for all of us to gather together is in the outdoor rancho, but it has fans so that is nice to help cool it down and keep bugs at least somewhat at bay. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. It is very close to the beach. We hired a private chef for 12 meals. if you are looking for a chef, Chef Carlos is incredible! I am happy we did this, because while some reviews say the location is walking distance to restaurants/town, there were only a couple that we could have all reasonably walked to as a group given that we had an infant, toddler, and an elderly blind man. The only hesitation I would give with staying here is due to our experience with the concierge. There were multiple substantial oversights resulting in inconveniences and stress, but the absolute worst was that we used the grocery service, and he told us the bill was 2800 dollars. When I asked to review it, we were charged thousands of US dollars for a few cases of beer and after review they did appropriately change it to 1400 USD. This could have been an honest mistake, but after the other questionable experiences, I am not really sure. So beware of the concierge and review your charges carefully! The owner, Rick, who we communicated with before we arrived, was helpful and kind.

Casa de Alces was great for our family vacation. Plenty of room to spread out with a party of 11. The accommodations are as pictured. The house staff is very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend. Short walk to beach and town.

This house is beautiful and in the most perfect location. We have 0 complaints about anything. If we ever had any questions or needed anything the property managers were great to answer us and help us out and go above and beyond with anything we needed. Staff is very friendly and respectful of property. We brought our company of 14 here and everyone was very comfortable and loved every part of it. We definitely recommend staying here!! The home is amazing and set up perfectly for friends and family. The outdoor kitchen is all you really need, but just in case, the main kitchen is still inside the house. All of the casitas walk out to the pool, and give you just enough privacy when needed, although everyone is still close. Pablo - the concierge - and his team are great assets to the home. They are attentive to your needs, and they set up dinners, excursions, yoga and massages for us. They will shop before you get there, and even arrange for a private chef to come to the home. We come to Costa Rica as a family every 5 years, and I will definitely check to see if this home is available when we come back!

This was an absolutely gorgeous property and excellent stay. Everything was perfectly clean upon arrival. The beds were comfortable and rooms were very nice. Kitchen was well stocked with essentials. We had quite a few items stop working during our stay- grill, one air conditioner, dishwasher. The management company was very responsive and got these items fixed but I was surprised to have so many items quit on us during our week. Only ding for me is no washer/dryer for guests. They offer laundry services but when traveling to such a large property I have come to expect to be able to wash items. Especially with the beach, sand and pool it would be nice to be able to do some towels. When we did use their laundry service an item came back destroyed. Those are relatively small things, however. Overall a great place.

We absolutely LOVED our week at Casa De Alces and highly recommend it!! I was looking for the perfect place for our 32nd Annual Girls Trip, which includes 19 women from all over the USA and what a pleasure it was to find Casa De Alces. Beginning with the rental process, Rick was so easy to communicate with and answered my many questions about the property and location. He connected me with Pablo (my main contact), Katy & Rebeca of Vacation Rentals Nosara and they were all FABULOUS to help me to coordinate airport transfers, restaurant reservations, booking the talented Chef Carlos & staff for 3 delicious meals prepared and served at the outside kitchen, organizing activities (hiking, snorkeling, ziplining, stand-up paddle board tour, Sunset Cruise, horseback riding, massages, ATV tour, golf cart rentals and our pre-ordered groceries waiting for us at the house upon arrival. We all loved the town of Nosara as it's such a hidden gem and we loved driving around on the golf carts and finding all the many treasures of the area. While there we throughly enjoyed two fabulous meals at Dolce Vita and La Luna. Only 2 of the 19 women had even been to Costa Rica but none of us had ever been to the area around Nosara and WE FELL IN LOVE!!! We would all love to come back, the people are so friendly and helpful as it's easy to get lost at first until you get your bearings as most roads are dirt and not marked. The house was perfect with plenty of room for us to spread out or stay together

Great location, great set-up. Plenty of room for our 4 families. Outside kitchen was the centerpiece of the property and we ate all of our meals out there. Town and beach was walkable or easily accessed with our rental golf carts. Katy and Pablo were great setting everything up for us. Everyone loved it, would definitely come again.

Paradise found was just that! The house is light, modern and beautiful throughout, with some wonderful artwork to enjoy as well. The amenities were fantastic, everything was clean, and the kitchen well stocked with all we could need or wish for. The lounge is so comfortable and cosy with a great selection of games and books, for when staying in, and with only a short stroll to the river and café - the location couldn’t be better! Thank you so much to Virginia and team for a wonderful stay, we couldn’t have been happier.

We had an incredible time at this home. We had four families.. property was very clean. Great spaces. Loved the location to the beach. We rented golf carts. Kids love the surfing. Pablo was amazing. Beautiful casa as advertised. Staff were wonderful before and during our stay. Easy walk to the beach. We were there with several families and each one had their own casita so you can get some quiet when you need it. The outdoor kitchen area is a perfect central hub for everyone. Will definitely come back.

Twelve family members gathered having been separated for three years due to Covid. Casa de Alces was a great spot for us to spread out yet be together. I was impressed with the prompt attention given to us when we had a question while there. The location to the beach was convenient allowing us to catch the beautiful sunsets. I am sure if you rent the property you will very pleased.

All in all a great stay. We had 4 families and there were plenty of bedrooms for all. We used the outdoor kitchen and the barbeque almost every night. We had some really nice women help with keeping the place clean-but this is extra of course. They do a great job. We had a catered meal on our arrival night and the next morning. The food was good-though we have some big eaters so it was just enough. Pablo, the manager, was very responsive to our needs. We had a few minor issues and he was quick to follow up. Now, just to be honest, there are a few things I did kind of miss. A heated pool (I know that sounds crazy) but the water wasn't as warm as we like. Also, if you are a tender foot, bring water shoes. The decking and pool surface are a little rough, plus the walk to the beach is rocky. The walk to the beach was fine, but it was a little longer than I anticipated. (I am 70, though). The area is more expensive than I thought it would be-I am assuming because of the difficulty getting supplies down to the area. I thought we would find fresh seafood-but it is too difficult to transport without freezing it. But I loved the remoteness. And of course the monkeys. The building noises were a little annoying, but not enough to wish we weren't there. It was mostly a guard dog that kept barking. All in all a great stay in a beautiful country.

Casa de Alces was a perfect home for our group of 12. We had some rainy days and there was plenty of space for us to spread out. Beds were comfortable, pillows excellent and AC’s in the bedrooms were powerful and well-maintained. One bedroom did not have a working AC upon arrival and a new one was installed within 2 hours. House is walking distance to Bakers Beach and Harmony Hotel was a favorite for lunches, dinners and cocktails. Surf instructors from Nosara Tico Surf School were easily available and flexible with the rain/tides. Lots of restaurants in North Guiones too. Fish Bar was one of our favorites and less than a 5 minute drive. Beware that there is construction everywhere and lots of time at the house we had a drill blaring in our ears. Roads are also in terrible shape with lots of huge pot holes. Nosara is a no frills surf town- if you like that, this place is for you.

We rented this property to celebrate our 25th anniversary with seven other couples. The layout was wonderful with plenty of privacy in the casitas around the pool, which have excellent sound insulation. The catered breakfasts and dinners were all delicious. And the concierge was immediately responsive to all her requests. It really doesn’t get better than this.

This property offered everything that was needed for our mom & daughter spring break. Perfect set up for the group to gather , eat okay games etc. Yet plenty of private space when not in a group comfortable beds & bedrooms. Great location just a short walk to the beach.

The perfect place for a group of friends to vacation. We arranged for a yoga instructor to come to the house, massages at the house, and a cook. It was a relaxing vacation with a lot of pool time! Excellent restaurants in the areas too.

Matt and I fell in love with Nosara in Feb 2021, so when it came time to plan our wedding, we kept returning to the idea of bringing our nearest and dearest to this most magical place. But how? Where? Matt and I weren’t interested in the traditional and really just wanted to get married on the beach and have a dinner with some dancing. Could we find a place that we would feel comfortable hosting our families for a week but could also fit 40 people for dinner? Would we be living on top of each other? A hotel didn’t feel right for us as we really love the casual, warm feel of a house rather than a banquet room. We found Casa de Alces on recommendation from Chef Carlos and my god was it absolutely perfect. The massive temperate salt water pool with a swim up bar. The enormous, beautiful rancho with fans. Two kitchens, 8 air conditioned bedrooms, 9 bathrooms! Large tables and seating areas around the property not to mention it is a 3 min walk to the beach. It was a dream. We got married at 5 pm, back for drinks and appetizers by the pool by 6:30 with dinner upstairs at 7:30 pm, dancing by 9. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how wonderful the Vacation Rentals Team was - they helped us with a cleaning service midweek, sweeping the pool for leaves on the day of the wedding and saved the day in helping us secure a rental car for our honeymoon. It was incredible to be able to email/WhatsApp Kathy, Pablo and Rebeca with any questions was such a help. And thank you Rick for letting us host the most magical week of our lives on your property. I’m failing miserably here at attempting to describe just how wonderful it was to be in our favorite place so comfortably with our favorite people. All I can say is that we will never ever forget how special it all was and it couldn’t have happened without the Casa de Alces experience. Pura vida!!

6th year In a row at Casa De Alces. Already booked our 7th year in 2023. Enough said.

Casa de Alces was the perfect place for three generations of our family to stay in Playa Guiones recently. The house is set back from the street, in the K section, so it is quiet at night. It is comfortably furnished and there was plenty of room between the main house and casitas for our group of thirteen. The outside living and kitchen areas are wonderful for gatherings, meals, swimming and lounging around the pool. Surfing was a highlight and the beautiful mile-long beach is close, only a five-minute walk away. Several in our group used the upstairs yoga platform daily for workouts or relaxing. The wildlife is numerous with coatimundis, howler monkeys, iguanas and numerous bird species visiting the property. The manager and staff of Vacation Rentals Nosara were very responsive in working with us to make dinner reservations, arranging for a local chef and cooks, booking zip lining and arranging taxis and shuttles to and from the Liberia Airport. Due to overbooking at one of the Liberia Airport car rental companies who canceled our car rental on arrival, we were without a car for our time in Playa Guiones. However Rebeca, Katy and Pablo were great in arranging transportation for our family. Having a car wasn't necessary for getting around as it is and easy walk to restaurants or the mini super. great vacation for all of us and we hope to return to Playa Guiones again before long.
