We had such an amazing time! The house was clean and we had amazing access to a beautiful dock! Perfect getaway!

The home was nice, clean and comfortable. The main bedrooms are upstairs. The dock is a little hike with quite a few stairs.

Everything was as advertised. Clean with good access to the lake and a nice dock. Enjoyed boating over a beautiful weekend. Not far from 2 marinas and the jumping bridge. Had a very enjoyable time.

The house exactly as it was listed and is in a fantastic location. You can tell the house has been updated and taken care of. The driveway was perfect as it had ample room to part trailers and vehicles. Some of the steps leading to the dock need some TLC but otherwise the dock is perfect. We saw numerous deer and the location was perfect to access all parts of the lake. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. The owner was excellent at communicating as well which is always a plus! Thanks for a great extended weekend.

The location was great and the dock had an amazing view. Nice Winery less than a mile away. Lots of deer. Regarding the house, the AC could not keep up. The whole house felt damp and smelled musty, The upstairs bathroom had a moldy ceiling that dripped water on the toilet and floor. All 5 of us used the downstairs bathroom. Really unusable.

The house is great, love using the dock and the location on the lake is perfect. There is a condensation issue in upstairs bathroom on ceiling fan that creates a musty smell. No other issues, I would definitely come back.

Not what I expected

Great place with great dock.

We loved the location, perfect spot to be on the lake. Really nice dock and cove. The house has parking (which was really nice) and we were able to park our Expedition with boat trailer in the driveway (just barely). The screened in porch was our favorite room. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer and there are plenty of extra towels. It is an affordable home in a really nice spot and provided a really enjoyable vacation. It did have its drawbacks, and made it overall 3.5 stars for us. We agree with the online reviews, overall clean, but the corners and vents have cobwebs and there is a musty smell. This improved with having the fan on in the main room and opening the doors the first day. The area has poor cell signal at the house, zero to one bar. You have to rely on the wifi. The wifi was terrible, don't plan on streaming anything or really connecting to anything besides your email. You can get better signal out on the driveway than in the house. Because of this, the VRBO app couldn't really connect, so communication with the host was challenging during the stay as messaging didn't connect well. The beds were not comfortable. We assume, as the description states the house was renovated in 2017 that the mattresses were new then, well, it's been a bit. The mattress on the top bunk near the front of the house, in the bedroom on the main floor is probably the best one. The mattresses upstairs lack center support. I didn't read the site instructions (my fault) and assumed there would be toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dish washer soap, etc. They do provide one roll of toilet paper in the two bathrooms and one roll of paper towels. I have, in other properties, had what I needed for an average week's stay provided. I understand it is a business, but as we rented a house, it's nice to show up and not have to worry about dish washer soap, dish soap and toilet paper. We did have a great time, and enjoyed our stay. The review is thorough with positives and negatives. We made some really fun memories and the property provided a nice venue for us.

My husband and I took our 13 year old son and 4 of his friends to Norris Lake. The house was a perfect location - quiet, clean cove that they could swim in without worry. House was clean and bunk room were perfect for them to hang out in while not on the boat or in the cove. Thanks so much for a great stay!

This was our second time staying at this property and both visits have been wonderful. The house fits our group great(4 adults and 4 kids). The home is located close to several marinas and Ceader Creek Jumping Bridge. Great place to enjoy the lake with freinds and family!

We had a wonderful time at Chapman Rental with our family. It was a little tricky to reach the property with an RV but we still got there without any issues.

Dock looks new. House was clean, good parking. The bunk beds make a nice setup if you are bringing a few kids.

The house was great, however there were 157 steps to the dock from the house and the last section of stairs was not well maintained. The stairs were leaning back and overgrown with weeds.

We’ve been coming to Norris Lake for years but have avoided staying in the Deerfield area because of lake traffic and proximity to the jumping bridge. But this house was tucked away in a private cove and quick access to 4 marinas. Definitely recommend this property for a group of 10 or less! The screened-in porch was a great place to relax.

Quiet cove tucked off the main channel. Perfect for access to Shanghai and Deerfield marinas. Owner was super helpful and dock was great. Can tell they’re updating the house area by area, so some rooms and furnishings are updated, others are older and less luxurious. Bring sealing containers for leftover food or fruit/sandwiches on the boat; only thing we needed but didn’t have in the kitchen. Overall, we had a great time.

Had a great time staying here. The only draw back is the steps to the dock for us older folks who think are in good shape but really not 😂

Awesome to see deer walking through the property. House had everything you need. Lots of spiderwebs inside the house that were NOT new. House smelled musty but that may be because it's in a woods. Light switches are co fusing.. labeling them would be helpful as well as replacing burt out bulbs. One of the top hand-rails on the stairs to the lake fell off and there are a few steps that are broken. Would be awesome to have electric at the pier for a radio! The cove is so nice; we floated in the water all 4 days we were there. We didn't even have a boat!!

We had a great time at this property. The screened in porch was our favorite room. Lots of steps as others have mentioned but we expected that - pretty much going to have them with any property at norris. We rented a boat for two days and the dock was great. Honestly could have gotten away with renting a boat for one day and swimming in the cove for the other - it was very clean! Thanks again!!
