Selecting a location for our 20th anniversary, we really wanted to avoid the typical resort crowds, be able to snorkel/dive with as little hassle as possible, but also have proximity to dining and entertainment when desired. Cas Abou was everything we could have asked for. As soon as we got to the property we knew we'd made the right choice. From the amazing views and privacy, to being able to walk 50ft right into the ocean you couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Being able to wake up in the morning, have breakfast outside enjoying the ocean views (all the while feeding wild iguanas that stop by to visit) and just walk down into the ocean was amazing. With no local crowd, the volume of localized coral remains undamaged which in turn means plenty of fish, octopus, etc. to see when snorkeling. Anytime we wanted a break, it was a short walk back to the cottage for a bite to eat or a quick (15-20 minute) drive to a restaurant if we didn't want to cook. From St Thomas to the Bahamas to locations throughout Mexico, we've never stayed at a location that was as welcoming, enjoyable and relaxing.

Don and Angie have created something truly special here. The cliff top views are breathtaking. The plunge pool was perfect to relax in. The outdoor shower was a nice touch. Our favorite parts of our stay were taking a hike with Angie and snorkeling to Cas Abao beach! 10/10 would recommend.

My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our honeymoon in this little piece of heaven. The view was always amazing, and the sounds of the waves were relaxing. The local people are very pleasant and the food was fabulous. Thank you, Don & Angie, we look forward to visiting again.

It's onw of the the best waterfront property we have stayed in.. we definitely needed more time. DON was super friendly and easy to communicate with. Would definitely return .

Bottom line is that there is an abundance of beautiful properties on Curacao and we would not recommend anyone renting a property through this owner. First, the kitchen was not clean with the refrigerator, microwave and inside cabinet drawers all dirty with food crumbs and spills. This was a minor issue compared to not having electricity or hot water for a combined total of 24 hours. The owner's response was to advise us to sleep outside. He offered no concessions as a result of our experience and refused to refund us one night stay. The loss of electricity and hot water disrupted our vacation and our peace of mind during our stay for significant periods of time on the nights of Tuesday, 1/18 (several hours until my husband was able to reset the breaker after the owner tried to do so) and Thursday 1/20 (all night). We got fewer than 3 hours of sleep on Thursday night. This is because the lack of electricity meant no air conditioning and no fan were available. With overnight low temperatures near 80 degrees, it remained hot and uncomfortable in the house, even with all the windows wide open and the sliding doors fully opened. Sleeping outside was attempted briefly, but it quickly became clear this wasn't an option unless we wanted to get eaten up by mosquitos. A smaller, but not insignificant added stress was the fact that we had perishables in the refrigerator and freezer and didn't know when/if power would be restored to preserve them. The owner sent an electrician on the afternoon of 1/19 to replace a breaker and offered to send him back to do additional upgrades (before the all-night outage). We asked the owner not to do this during our stay because we understood that the 1/19 repair to one section of the breaker panel would be enough to keep the electricity running while we were there and because we wanted to minimize additional interpersonal contacts (due to Covid). Had the owner told us, "Well, I can't guarantee it won't shut down again" we would have certainly consented to a proactive electrician follow up visit. The fact the owner gave instructions to guests (in the on-site printed guide) to refrain from running the A/C, fan, water heater, and microwave at the same time tells us he knew the electrical panel was in need of an upgrade. (We never ran all those items at once). The owner was pleasant, until there were issues with the property giving the impression he was more put out than we were as a result.

Cielo was the most unique and beautiful place that we’ve ever stayed at in the Caribbean. It’s a great place to unwind and recharge. The views are incredible at every direction. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower area and different sitting areas. We rented Don and Angie’s kayaks for 2 days and had the best time kayaking to the local beaches from Cielo. We also enjoyed all of the local restaurants suggested by Don and Angie. Don and Angie were both so nice and made you feel welcome. Do yourself a favor and experience Cielo for yourself!!

My husband and I stayed at Don’s property for 6 nights for our honeymoon and it was an absolute dream! Hands down one of the best VRBO properties we have ever stayed at. Everywhere you turn there is an artistic touch. It was so relaxing to wake up in the morning, make coffee, and sit in the outdoor living room overlooking the ocean and listening to the waves! There were so many beautiful sitting areas around the property. Everyday we would wake up, lounge on the semi-private beach just steps away and snorkel right off the beach! We would finish the afternoon swimming in the private pool that overlooks the ocean! Don and Angie were very attentive and helped with anything we needed! Highly recommend staying here! We hope to return some day!

The house is amazing; I genuinely can’t imagine staying anywhere else on the island. Don has truly thought of so many things to make the house a place to relax. The view from the house is like nothing I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to go back and stay in the same place!

Paradise found. Beautiful little cottage....but the best is snorkelling at your doorstep. If you want privacy, peace and quiet, book this place.

There was no hot water. Owner expects guest to shower outside. Shower inside had instant hot water heater which was insufficient shower was in with the toilet and sink not separate. Shower inside floods living area. No hot water at sinks to wash dishes or face. Car advertised with “cottage” was in bad shape with no way to open back doors. Given 2 towels with only 1 midweek exchange. If you want a camping trip this is the place. Very remote with dive site accessible only through a very poorly maintained path. It would be very difficult to carry tanks down to the dive site or even walk down. We left after only one night owner would not refund a dime. He does not care about customer satisfaction at all. I own rentals and have been renting them through VRBO for 15 years and I always make it right with my guest if they are unhappy this owner will not!!! Beware

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the little cottage. The indoor space is small, but amazingly efficient...everything we needed was there. And the outdoor space is amazing. There are so many places to relax any way you want: sun, shade, water, sitting, lying down, etc. Sunsets are amazing. The providers recommended for catered meals and massages were truly outstanding as well. Airport transfers were seamless and the cottage car was useful and easy. Fantastic property and hosts!

We could not have asked for a more perfect place with more gracious hosts to spend a week away celebrating our anniversary. Highlights of the amenities offered at this rental were the airport pickup, rental car, grocery service, rustic natural setting, amazing views, and easy beach and water access via a private path.

My husband and I just spent a week at Cas Cielo and we've never been anywhere quite like it. The privacy, quiet and seclusion were priceless. We had planned on spending more time in town, but the views were so beautiful we ended up cooking in the well-appointed kitchen or grilling on the BBQ for most meals, so we could then enjoy listening to the crashing waves from one of the outdoor eating areas. We were thrilled to see the diversity of life on the house reef. Again, we had thought we would spend a lot of time driving to beach or boat dives elsewhere. But Cas Abou Beach and the house reef were so beautiful we ended up doing all of our diving and snorkeling within a mile or so of the house. Bridget's dive shop next door rented us tanks for $9 so we just beach dived the whole time. The folks at her shop are worth a mention -- so helpful, friendly and funny. Amazing. This locations has been decorated and outfitted with love and attention to detail. It was absolutely perfect for us. One warning for those with mosquito sensitivities: don't get lulled into going out and thinking you won't be bitten! Wear your insect repellant outside every time. We loved Cas Cielo. Highly recommend.

A beautiful property with breathtaking views of the ocean in a relaxed, quiet part of the island. Various outdoor porches provide the perfect setting to enjoy a meal and a glass of wine while watching the waves and surrounding wildlife. The property managers are absolute pros - no problem accessing the home and they provided us with a number of useful suggestions. We can't wait to go back!

We had a great experience with Don and Angie. They were wonderful host and very attentive to any issues we had. They strives to make sure we were comfortable in every way. The property is gorgeous!

This property is exactly how its listed. Small cottage with outdoor living space, stunning views and some of the best snorkeling on the Island. Don and Angie were great to work with and super responsive to our needs. We had Chef Lisa come over and cook dinner for us on our first night. She was a delight and the food was AMAZING. Highly recommend her!! The airport pickup and use of rental car was a great way to avoid the hassle of a rental car company. Location was perfect, safe, secure and quiet. The birds and critters were a joy to watch. We enjoyed our time there and hope to visit again soon!!

We wanted a Honeymoon experience since we didn't get one. The location was wonderful and the house was beautiful but the PM Don was often at the property even when we were gone exploring the island, visiting beaches, going in and out of the home. We felt as though we didn't have any privacy and thought it was excessive. The day before we left, we came home to the house, noticed his battery charging for his tools and the water jug that was inside the house, locked-up when we left, found on the deck under the lounge chair when we returned . We felt like our privacy was invaded too much. I can understand he was upset when we left the AC on. Once we completely forgot to turn off. Then my husband got a sinus infection and needed cool air to breathe. Don was okay with the air when we explained my husband's sinus issue and didn't say anything more. The day my husband felt better, we diligently turned it off. Angie was wonderful. We loved her and she communicated to us when she was going to be there for a linen and towel change. When we left, we got an email 5 days later asking where his ornaments went. (Two purple glass balls and a clear glass one hanging on a tree) Don was at the home when we left. If there was an issue, he should of notified us that same day or the following day by email. They were there the day we left and we have videos of them in the tree. If we had true privacy, I would easily give this 5 stars but we didn't have that and that's what we wanted.

The cottage was exactly as we expected ... amazing. Don and Angie have thought of everything that you’ll need for a great vacation on Curaçao! We loved the pool, the beach, the kitchen and grill, the deck, and most of all the view of the ocean!

Just incredible, from the moment we booked till the day we left, everything was very clear with Don and Angie. No pictures will justify the views. My wife and I are already planning to go back.

What a way to relax! This private cottage offers everything you need to enjoy your time in Curacao. The small beach right there is perfect for snorkling, swim in the ocean or simply read your book, listenning to the waves! The cottage is fully equiped and Don & Angie has been extremely helpfull, making sure we fully enjoyed our vacations. A place we will go back!

We arrived to Cas Cielo with high expectations and it lived up to those expectations and then some. Don and Angie were fantastic and quick to respond any time we reached out for advice or recommendations. The views, privacy and overall experience at Cas Cielo were simply breathtaking to the point we've already started thinking about when we'll be able to come back. I think we hit every major beach in our week in Curacao and the location of this home was as good or better than any place we saw on the entire island. I've rented a lot of places at a lot of different locations over the years, but none will come close to matching the memories that were made at Cas Cielo.

This was our first trip to Curacao and it's left me wondering what else we could possibly need on a vacation. From the time you wake up you are met by the soft sound of waves meeting the rocks on the beach, exotic birds calling and flying around, hermit crabs mingling just beyond the deck, and of course the the iguanas stealthily roaming the property. All you have to do is walk right outside the door and look right into the that bright blue water to spot fish in the corals. Some nights my wife and I would be sitting at the round table looking down the coast line or relaxing in the pool staring at the stars when a whole network of glowing orbs would appear in the shallow water all the way down the beach. What a beautiful place...It's easy to lose that desire to see the rest of the island because there is so much to appreciate right there at home. Curacao has so much to offer so staying somewhere like this only makes it better. Don and Angie will be there for whatever you need without compromising your privacy and making your stay hassle free, even things like rides to the airport at 4:00 in the morning. Curacao was a really great experience for us. Willemstad is comfortable and very walkable, Christoffel park is absolutely beautiful and full of things to see, the restaurants are delicious and laid back. Something I did not know before going there was how the local people truly make you feel at home. One of the more tense parts of traveling is being different from everyone else for a change and often needing their help. This is not an issue in Curacao and was somewhat of a highlight in our experience. To sum it up Curacao is a great place to go and if you're gonna go, I can't imagine staying anywhere but Cas Cielo. What an amazing journey and stay! Everything you see in the pictures and noted in information is accurate. We could not have enjoyed our time more! This spot is perfection. I love snorkeling, and you can step right down the path, hop in the water, and snorkel left or right to see beautiful sea scapes, coral, fish, and the most beautiful blue water. At the house, parrots, parakeets, doves, and iguanas of all sizes hang out and provide company. The birds serenade you, and the iguanas relax in the sun with you. Don and Angie were wonderful. Don’t miss a walk with Golan (the dog) and Angie. Don gives great restaurant suggestions and makes transport around the island easy. Rent a car from them, book walks and tours with them, and if you need transport from the airport, nothing can be easier. We would love to return!

This wonderful, private setting with inspiring views of the ocean is quite unique and unlike anything else we have seen in our travels. Although Curacao has much to offer, we felt little need to leave Cas Cielo. The easily accessible nearby beach offers great snorkeling in a protected area. The outdoor shower is great after a swim. The gated community was an added bonus. Don and Angie are always available and helpful. Don, an artist at heart, has done a great job of design and decoration. His handiwork and creativity are evident everywhere. The surrounding wildlife is quite amazing. We were visited regularly by seemingly tame, colorful birds. We will return.

first off, thanks don for creating a place like cas cielo. heather and I have stayed at some beautiful places but nothing comes close to cas cielo. this place has everything anyone could need for the most relaxing vacation.to anyone planning on a trip to curacao , it would be a mistake to stay anywhere else.as great as the pictures are the place is better. we agree with all the other reviews and then some. we hope we will be lucky enough to stay again next year. thanks again don, to you and your team. phil and heather

Every year we venture to the Carribean looking for small, unique out of the way places to relax, read, snorkel and do things at our pace. This topped all of our other vacations. How can you possibly beat waking up in the morning looking directly at the ocean, then walking down a few steps past the plunge pool and having coffee right on a cliff. Then a couple of Iguanas come out on the rocks to sun themselves. WOW! Back up to the deck and have breakfast overlooking the ocean and then walk down a path to your own beach - yes your own beach. Snorkel (some of the best snorkelling on the island is right here), swim, sit in a chair and read... total tranquillity. This end of the island is quiet and peaceful but there are lots of beaches to visit, small quaint restaurants and lots of mini markets to buy food. Did I say they have a full kitchen and propane BBQ (all very new) so we bought some Tuna from a fisherman on one of the beaches and they cut it up for us into filets and we BBQ'd it. Delicious. Our hosts, Seaside Don and Angie were amazing, with great recommendations where to go, what to see and anything we needed, they figured it out. The cottage is fully equipped with chairs for the beach, cooler, extra flippers and masks and even a Kayak if you want to rent it for the day. If we could give it an 11 out of 10 we would, and would we go back, absolutely!

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful, tranquil location. We were blown away upon first arriving. The cottage itself is very chilled and relaxed, with lots of nice features and details which make it very welcoming and easy to settle in. This is made particularly easy with the warm welcome from Angie and Don, who are more than happy to help with any queries and arrangements and really helped to make a stress free holiday! The cottage is a perfect paradise for a couples retreat, overlooking the stunning turquoise ocean in the morning or perfect sunset views in the evening - nothing more relaxing than watching the sun go down whilst chilling in the pool! There are several different, unique areas to sit and enjoy, each getting sun at different times of the day. The private beach is literally a stones throw away and from here you can do some fantastic snorkelling and/or diving, with plenty of corals and fish near by without even having to put much effort in (on a calm day at least). It’s also a haven for wildlife and a nature lovers paradise - so many different plants and trees; many species of birds visit throughout the day; some of which will feed direct from your hand....humming birds visit the trees early morning and evening and pelicans hunt from the rocks directly below...not to mention the iguanas happily taking food each morning! The cottage is also a perfect central point for many stunning local beaches up the west coast and not far from the plains where the flamingos hang out. One of the problems is it’s difficult to prise yourself away from the cottage paradise to go exploring every where else! One thing to mention is that a car is a necessity, but luckily you can rent the cottage SUV, which is a perfect car for nipping around the island and at a decent price compared to the local car rental companies. We would highly recommend using the cottage as either your base camp for exploring the island or equally to spend your entire holiday at, it’s perfect for both! We’ll definitely be back the next time we visit Curaçao!

We are missing Cas Cielo already! There is everything to love about this cozy home. Don and Angie instantly make you feel welcomed and at home sweet home!
