We enjoyed our stay immensely! The house was comfortable and you could feel the history. The location was amazing. Easy walk into town that help avoid any traffic or parking issues. Mary and Dave were awesome. Dave stopped by to quickly resolve a quick issue and enjoyed talking to him about the history of the house and the amazing things to do around Maine. A couple things I always like to know. 1. The beds are comfortable but on the firmer side 2. The bedrooms do get lots of light in the morning especially the room on the 3rd floor. We did not mind but I know people who like it dark! Highly recommend this place. The house is great, location it perfect (central too so many things and not as busy as a town as others. Not as touristy feeling either which we really liked), great restaurants and the hosts were so helpful!

We are so appreciative that Mary & Dave allowed us to stay in their lovely home. It is filled with art objects from their overseas travels. The location was beyond; it’s just minutes to all the restaurants, shops, the harbor, etc. Mary & Dave went above and beyond in every way. This was my first time in Camden and one of the most relaxing vacations ever. While we loved their home, if you are a minimalist please note that there are a lot of objects, furnishings, and art and you might not love that, but if Maximalism doesn’t bother you, this is an absolute gem and the perfect place to stay in Camden.

Our two week stay was a delight. The house is perfectly located - many days we did not use the car. Walked to shops and restaurants and the harbor every day. The house is as pictured - filled with books and art from floor to ceiling. We especially enjoyed the roomy kitchen with its nice appliances. The fireplace made things especially cozy on cold days, but it was not in the sitting room so we couldn’t fully enjoy. Dave and Mary are lovely people and full of great suggestions. The only “unexpected” was the fact that the owners stayed in the basement apartment during our stay. It made me very self-conscious of our conversations/TV/footsteps (sound really carried in this home). I do think that renters should simply be aware of this fact when booking and I don’t recall reading this in the listing. We look forward to returning to the most charming village on the Maine coast!

My friend and I loved the location of the charming Victorian home in Camden. Our hosts were helpful and attentive. Be aware if you will be using both bedrooms as we did, both are located upstairs, and one requires two sets of stairs. It was not a problem for us, but might be for some. Overall, a lovely, art-filled home in beautiful Camden, Maine.

Historic home in a great location. Easy walk to harbor and shops. Our only complaint would be noisy a/c and a bit musty smelling from large collections of books. Other than that overall lovely property.

All we could say is “WOW”! This house is amazing from every aspect! First, Mary and Dave were very responsive and answered all of our questions. The house has beautiful art (by Dave!) , beautiful antiques, stained glass windows and a very quaint porch with rocking chairs. There is also a very quaint patio for dining - we did not get to use because of the rain. We did not cook any of our meals, but if we had, the kitchen is very well stocked. From a location standpoint, it is perfect. The downtown area of Camden is only a short walk away. The downtown area has many great shops, dining options and a grocery store. You can literally park your car and not get in it again until you leave. The trailhead for Mt. Battie is located just behind the house. The guys hiked this trial one morning and really enjoyed it. My friend and I just decided to lounge at the house and enjoy a quiet morning. The was the perfect lodging for 4 great friends from South Carolina taking a Maine vacation.

This was a lovely week. Right away my family felt comfortable in this home. My son, in his 20’s enjoyed walking into town and planting himself at a picnic table with views of the harbor to do some early morning studying. My daughter and I loved our morning walks to Zoot for coffee. She also hiked Mt Battie every morning. The house is close to everything! We packed it in with dinner at Primo ( very good-book early) high end restaurant and worth every penny. We took a ferry from Rockland to Turner Farm on Northhaven Island-an amazing experience which we will make an annual event. We packed a lunch and rented a boat for half day on Megunticook Lake. We had several dinners at the house for our Maine family-13 of us! The kitchen is well appointed and my daughter, a chef agrees. This beautiful home made the week that much more enjoyable! We walked into nearby Camden a couple of times every day, mostly for meals, but also to purchase grocery items from the small but well-stocked corner grocery store. The harbor views from town were delightful, and we did spend an afternoon swimming at Lake Megunticook a couple of miles up the road. It was a lovely week.

The property is well located, within easy walking distance to town and to the trail that leads up to Mount Battie. Plenty of on street parking in front of the house. With the windows open we definitely noticed the traffic noise. On the one warm evening we turned on the AC unit in the 2nd floor bedroom, it effectively cooled down the room but was loud. Every room is full of furniture. I found only one area where I could comfortably roll out my yoga mat. My son enjoyed staying on the third floor and was delighted to wake up to the colored light streaming through the stain glass skylights. Owners occupy the lower basement level that has a separate entrance.

Great location for a Camden visit. The home is very comfortable meeting all our expectations.

Immerse yourself in art and literature while enjoying the best Maine has to offer. Day trips to Rockport, Belfast, Bar Harbor for shopping, antiquing, and ,of course, lobster! Enjoy the forest and the ocean at Acadia National Park where you can hike or just soak in the sun and waves. Don't forget the pop-overs at Jordon Pond Lodge. Be sure to stop and see the views from the Penobscot Bridge tower. Weather keeping you inside...no worries. This wonderful house is full of artwork (most by the owner!) to ponder and books in every nook and corner. Every need is covered and the rooms are spectacular. We stayed in the "attic" room with stained glass windows above the bed and the whole bathroom is a shower! Our brother and sister in law thoroughly enjoyed the huge master bedroom with big jet tub. We ate in Bar Harbor, Lincolnville, and Camden and every meal was excellent with great service. The home is a very short walk from downtown Camden so you are just minutes from shopping and dining. We also got to enjoy a cruise on the schooner "Appledoor"...a great adventure. Mary and Bill are great hosts and answered all our questions right away. We highly recommend this home for your get away, especially for adults or families with older kids.

This is the hosts home, not strictly a rental property. Filled with memorabilia and beautiful art. Overwhelming at first, but comfortable after learning its nuances. Small but nice front porch. High-end appliances nestled into an antique setting. Good air-conditioning and fantastic location.

The house is perfectly situated within walking distance to the town of Camden and a wonderful state park. The home owner was so helpful with local tips and her house is gorgeous. We would love to come again!

Such a beautiful home in a convenient location for our party of 6, but we were disappointed with the cleanliness & clutter of the home, esp. amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Upon check in we noticed dirty counter tops, musty smelling towels,, worn linens & pillows, watered down hand soaps, dust bunnies everywhere, mildew in the washing machine & 3rd floor toilet etc.. The bedrooms provided no space to unpack due to the dressers and armoires being packed with the owner’s personal belongings. Sorry for the harsh review, but think that a new cleaning service would be in order.
