Joanie and Gary, was great hosts and easy to communicate with. The cottage was just as we expected. It was a nice way to spend the last few days of summer.

This was my families second time staying at the BeChill cottage and we were so happy to be back! The cottage is so clean and has everything you need in the kitchen, spacious bedrooms, and comfortable living room. We love the location! You can easily walk to the ferry, all the stores and restaurants and to the beautiful sandy beach! The whole island is beautiful and on a rainy day you can hop on the ferry to Portland and go to a great restaurant or do some shopping. Plus the owners are so kind and super responsive. Thank you for letting us stay at BeChill again - we would love to come back!

We had a fantastic week on Peaks Island. Gary and Joanie were outstanding host. The cottage had everything that you needed for a wonderful stay on the island. It even had some really nice artwork throughout the cottage. The location "downfront" was ideal. We were a very short walk to go out to one of the restaurants or head over to Hannigans Market to stock up on groceries. It was also a short walk or golf cart ride to the seaward side of the island to take in breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Yet it was also in a very quiet location to enjoy a night sitting on a porch or out in the backyard. We highly recommend the "Be Chill" cottage for your next family vacation on Peaks Island.

My family and I had a great time on Peaks at this cottage. It was a perfect week for my older parents and me (three people). Peaks is wonderful--delicious ice cream, beaches, walks, and time just to relax. The cottage had everything we needed--was very comfortable and an ideal location (short walk from the ferry and a great beach).
Gary and Joanie were wonderful hosts--very helpful and responsive.
Can't recommend it enough--I hope we're back next summer!

We stayed at Joanie and Gary’s cottage during June and most of July-it was such a fantastic time! We just loved everything-the cottage, the location and the proximity to be close to Portland to go for dinner but far enough away to feel out of town!

This is a perfect spot to stay on Peaks with access to all the beaches and adventures it holds. The house was clean, well appointed with everything we needed, and felt like a home away from home. We enjoyed everyday there and look forward to being back again next year!

We had a great stay at the BeChill cottage on Peaks Island. Hosts made check-in super easy and sent activities for our family to do on island (like the Community Center BBQ which was in a beautiful spot with a live band - so fun for kids). The cottage was super cute, clean, plenty of space for our small family, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Plus it's in a great location. We rented a golf cart to get around (because it's just fun to do:) but you could really walk to everything from the cottage, including the beautiful Sandy Beach! Awesome place to stay, we miss it already and can't wait to come back!!! Thank you Gary and Joanie!

I love this peaks island cottage where me and my daughter stayed! The hosts are wonderful through and through. We love staying here for two years in a row. Easy to walk to beach and town.

We had a really nice family weekend away! It was just what we all needed. The cottage was in the perfect location if you want to be able to walk everywhere at the front of the island. Gary was very accommodating and responsive. The only issue was that we didn’t book it for longer! Next time we will be sure to stay longer!

Everything worked great. Really nice property close to the restaurant and store on the island but still felt away from everything. Only thing... Please raise the showerhead, not made for average height people.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the house on Peaks Island. The hosts were great and it was a close walk for those riding the ferry. If you have elderly people in your group you might catch the taxi by the ferry landing as it’s kind of an uphill walk, but it’s definitely doable as we hauled our luggage up the hill.

We completely enjoyed our week. Everything was as described and the hosts response time was great. The Island is perfect. Easy walk to the beach and Ferry so you can enjoy the quiet and go into Portland if you like.

My husband and I stayed at the cottage, we found the entire island to be lovely, as well as our time in Portland and a day trip we took to New Harbor. We can’t wait to return.

My family has stayed on the charming island of Peaks each summer for almost 10 years. This property did not disappoint. It was in a nice quiet location, set back from down front, close to beaches and restaurants/shops...an easy walk or bike ride away to everything. Breezy, comfortable and well equipped to prepare snacks and meals. Would love to stay again in the future!

Nice Secluded, peaceful location
The decor was very well appointed & cozy. High end furniture and appliances. We were are very comfortable during our stay. We liked that the property was located in a quieter area.

Long-awaited return to Peaks!
The property was lovely, we had perfect weather, our only issue was communicating through the VRBO app, it wasnt reliably loading new messages on my phone so some messages were delayed but nothing was urgent. the owner also provided a cell phone if something urgent did come up but we did not need it.

Lovely getaway
We know the island well but had never stayed on this part. It was convenient for ferry access, coffee shops etc. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. Only a very short walk to the ocean. We would happily stay again!

Our favorite rental, after short term rentals for 7 months.
We loved the vibe of living on an island for a month. We enjoyed taking the ferry to and from Portland, it was a very short walk from the ferry landing to our cottage. Everyone we met were very friendly and helpful to us.
We have a dog so spent a lot of time on the beaches and they are beautiful! The check in process was so easy and the owners would always respond immediately to our questions. The house was well stocked, and comfortable. It’s a very sunny location and my husband spent most of his time reading on the back porch. In the afternoon the sun filled the living room where our dog Vinny and I spent most of our time.
We loved the proximity to Portland, but especially loved the quiet of being on the island. Definitely a 5 star vacation!

Great location!
My husband and I brought our 3 month old here it was the perfect stay! Sandy beach was a 5 minute walk and was so beautiful and peaceful at night. We loved driving around the island and taking in the views. The house is a 5 minute walk to the restaurants and stores. The restaurants do close early, around 8pm so we had to schedule our days accordingly if we wanted to go out to eat. The house had all the basic cooking supplies to use. Great outdoor shower, and big master bedroom. Will definitely stay longer next summer!

Fabulous Stay on Peaks Island
We had a wonderful stay on Peaks in this quintessential updated cottage. The layout made the space feel big and the hardwood floors lent the cottage a wonderful feel. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom spacious and easy to share among the 3 of us (which included our teenage daughter). The location of the cottage was ideal as it's a short walk up the hill from the ferry and local restaurants making it convenient for jaunts to the old port in Portland and dinners out on the island (no car needed). Yet we still felt worlds away making it a fantastic retreat. We would definitely rent this cottage again. It was truly lovely and the owners were exceptionally responsive. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

Great place to stay with the wife, child, and dog. Really close to everything but very quiet. Peaks is a wonderful place to hang out for a week and just relax.

Lovely Cottage Near Peaks Island Ferry
We spent four restful nights here while visiting friends in and around Portland.House is in very good condition, beds very comfortable and kitchen well-equipped.Appliances excellent. Linens and towels included in rental. Located three blocks uphill from ferry, Inn, grocery store etc. It’s an excellent base on lovely Peaks Island.

Wonderful Getaway
My family thoroughly enjoyed both Peaks Island and this perfect cottage. The center of town was just a short walking distance; at night it is filled with food, lights, music, and laughter. There are plenty of places to explore on this island; my favorite was the clear, sparkling water and the rock stacking along the shoreline. Gary was wonderful, even dropping off a lobster pot for our dinner! Highly recommend

This was by far our favorite vacation in recent years. Peaks is gorgeous! The house was delightful! We loved kayaking, biking, and whale watching! Beautiful!

Perfect Family Vacation
This home is adorable and the location is perfect. Room for all. 4 adults, 2 children and a dog. Great kitchen, comfy bedrooms, and nice outdoor space. We’d definitely rent this property again.

How soon can we move in?
I’ve spent many years visiting Maine, usually in the Penobscot area, but Peaks Island, and this darling house, totally blew me away. We loved the island and it’s laid-back vibe, the easy trip back and forth to Portland (fantastic farmers market!), and how friendly the islanders were. The house was absolutely perfect, such a great location and totally pristine. I’m honestly ready to just move in :)

Just what the vacation work relief doctor ordered. Adorable 2 bedroom cottage in a great location for quick walks to the ferry, stores & restaurants. Well appointed with just about everything you need to cook and feel right at home. Hosts Gary & Joanie were amazing. Just really good people. Made my stay even better.

Quinticential Maine, with modern amenities in a prime location!
From the modern amenities to the quiet setting, this adorable cottage made us feel at home. The furnishings and beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed and the proximity to the town center was convenient. We would definitely stay here again.
