This was our 3rd stay at Algonac. We enjoy being off the beaten path with only a 5 minute drive to beach. With 5 kids and 6 adults and a dog or two, it is a great space. Wifi is spotty but not a big deal since we are on vacation and enjoy the disconnect. Wonderful outside area for kids to just run and play. Nice evening walks down the lane and road. Always see deer which is exciting. House has lots of sleeping spaces and bathrooms galore. The screened porches are spaces to relax with a morning coffee or afternoon cocktail or to play competitive family games. It is an easy house to enjoy.

VRBO failed to give us numbers to open the lock box so that we could gain access to the house. Terrible

Everything about the property is just perfect. The large living room is beautiful. My group loved hanging out by the fire and talking every night. The kitchen has everything you need. The house has more than enough spots to sleep for a large group. And who doesn’t love heated floors when you wake up!!! My group will be back next season for sure.

The house fits our needs very well. Plenty of room for 8 men. Amenities are excellent. Very close to Eagles Mere Borough and Eagles Mee Country Club.

The property is beautifully located in the mountains and secluded from surrounding properties. The home has all the amenities, is well kept and has offered my family an early Thanksgiving for the last four years. It provides a great opportunity to relax and a wonderful head start on the holiday season.

Best place ever!
We love this place! It is perfect for family vacations. So much room and still unique place to be by yourself. The outside fireplace was a huge hit! Scott was so helpful with the many questions I had. He responded quickly! We will definitely be coming back!

Great facility:
This home met all our needs. We had 3 family groups,,,,some with small children....some with boys in their 20'a and six adults two of which were seniors. The layout of the house allows for great flexibility for assigning rooms. All are different. Bathrooms too allow for flexibility. We all enjoyed the amish barn style architecture...especially the unusual incomplete finished pegs. Setting was beautiful. All amenities that you want are provided. We enjoyed the fire pit on 2 nights.

We very much enjoyed our long weekend at Algonac. Our group consisted of three families and a total of 13 people. There was more than enough space in this large, unique, and beautiful home. The house is tucked away by itself at the end of a long drive. There was plenty of room outside for yard games. The architect in our group marveled at the house inside. Everyone loved the modern kitchen. The screened in porches are perfect for morning coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor stone fireplace. And while we had more than enough fun just hanging out at the house we did venture to Ricketts Glen State Park to check out the many waterfalls there. We’d highly recommend this for anyone in the area.

I read a review of this property before going that said the pictures did not do the property justice. I certainly echo those sentiments. The house is beautiful and was perfect space for our family. Our grandchildren enjoyed the children’s space. The foosball table was a huge hit. My son and daughter-in-law enjoyed having the bedroom close to the children but not too close. Our other daughter was so happy that she could have her own en-suite bathroom, while my husband and I felt so comfortable in the large master suite and our own porch. Great memories were made in our week stay at this property.

We were a group of two families and a couple of friends- 12 people total- all teens & adults. We love Eagles Mere but in the past had only stayed on Pennsylvania Avenue, closer to the Laurel Path and the lake. We hadn’t been up in a few years and my kids really missed this special place and wanted to bring some friends to introduce them to the place we hold so dear. This was our first stay at the Algonac -and it did NOT disappoint. The house was clean and ready to welcome us, tucked away in a private corner of the woods. The pictures online do not even do it justice… the house is just gorgeous!!! We all marveled at so many of the details in the design of this lodge- the wood work, high ceilings, multiple porches and gathering areas, comfortable seating and modern conveniences. Every bedroom has their own bathroom, and we had MORE than enough beds. (we were very short on towels so I did wish we had brought some from home but we made it work) Each room connects to a porch! It would be the perfect place for a larger family reunion or event. We enjoyed music each night around the piano, board games, toasting marshmallows at the fire pit. cooking meals in the wonderful kitchen together, reading & coffee on the porch, walking around the Laurel Path, and of course time at the beach, volleyball games, canoeing on the lake, & ice cream or iced coffee at the sweet shop. It was about a mile walk to the sweet shop, and there is one portion of the lane that is a very steep hill- but our group was fine walking that portion and enjoyed the stunningly beautiful views of the valley from the driveway! Our teens liked to ride bikes each day but had to walk the bikes up that steep portion of the lane. The weather was idyllic- no humidity and temps in the 70’s, nice and cool at night for sleeping. Other highlights of our stay included sunset and star gazing at High Knob Overlook, a long hike along the Loyalsock trail in World’s End State Park, visiting the Eagles Mere shops, Museum and the train room, and having breakfast together at the Sweet Shop on our last morning after check out. This week was just perfect and a chance to connect for quality time with some of our kids who have been away at college. The perfect way to kick off summer. We hope to come back! What an amazing house in such a picturesque setting! It was the R&R we all needed- an escape from the busyness of life and a chance to completely unplug (although the house DID have great wifi). Loved it!!!

Fabulous stay at Algonac!
We rented Algonac for an extended weekend during our kids’ Spring Break and had a fabulous stay! The house was just gorgeous. Exceptionally clean and tons of space for everyone. Very well stocked and lots of amenities. Not your typical rental home! Our kids had their own space in the downstairs room and loved playing hide and seek around all the lofts, taking baths in the large soaking tub. We used the fire pit, outside and indoor fireplaces!! And loved cooking meals in the wonderful kitchen. We felt very secluded and safe. It was the “off season” in town, but we loved that it felt like we had the place to ourselves, including in World’s End State Park, which was beautiful and just a few minutes away. Would love to come back.

We loved our stay at this property — the house was gorgeous and comfortable, and even more spacious than you can tell from the pictures. We enjoyed taking our dog on some of the walking trails in town. It was a lovely winter getaway. Scott was very responsive and helpful.

Early holiday
Even though we only had six family members attend, we had a wonderful, relaxing experience in this beautiful space. The issue with getting in was concerning, but we found our way in using the key in another entrance. Talking to the property owner was appreciated as we didn't want to cause any damage in forcing the situation. The only other issue was we ran out of hot water on Saturday night. We told the cleaning staff about these issues as well before leaving Sunday morning. Even these issues couldn't ruin our experience and so appreciate being able to enjoy this space.

Gorgeous Mountain Retreat
Our 3rd time staying here. Always a great. We keep spending more time in the house instead of venturing too far out although we do that too. Just love the house. So many nice areas - screened in second floor porch, living room with fireplace, large kitchen and dining area. Just love it.

Wonderful getaway
Perfect setting for an extended family getaway in the COVID era. House incredible - quirky/fun details and lots of room and gathering areas - we spent lots of time on the porches, by the outside fire, ... Activities for all - hiking/swimming at World's End/Loyalsock, sailing on Eagles Mere, biking, board games,... Highly recommended!

Great Place for Families
Algonac was a wonderful place for my family to be together. We had 6 adults and 5 children (ages 3-10). Our kids ran their hearts out in the yard and playing in the woods near the house, as did our lab. It was nice because we didn't have to worry about traffic. You are in town but secluded. The screened-in porches were great. The dining room table wasn't big enough for all of us, so the table on the one screened-in porch worked out for the kiddos to have their meals. Cupboards were stocked with pantry items. The house and furnishings are very comfortable and beautiful. It really is as the pictures depict. There is a nice road that goes by the entrance to the house that we walked in the evenings and saw lots of deer and enjoyed the views of the beautiful fields and mountains. You are about a 5 minute drive to the lake beach. The lake is crystal clear, has a huge dock out in the water that the family never got tired of jumping off. The beach area is small enough that you can see your kids pretty good. There is a nice playground too. We really hope to be able to rent Algonac again as we made many wonderful memories.

This a great house for a large family. Easy drive lake and town. Walkable to town but up a steep hill. Great outdoor space. Good kitchen.

Architectural Digest worthy home
Everything needed in the rental and then some. More blankets and towels than an army would need. Appreciated the isolation during a pandemic. The town of Eagles Mere was the safest location I have been. full compliance with all health restrictions.

Wonderful Algonac!
Algonac was a beautifully appointed Lodge with many wonderful amenities for our family reunion… Covid style. There was plenty of room in the common areas to social distance. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and very roomy. Some of the bedrooms have a cozy open air concept while others afforded more privacy. We enjoyed the porches on both floors and loved the roof covered fireplace on the bottom floor porch! The yard was big enough for family games as well as for gathering around the outdoor fire pit. We loved the privacy and location of the lodge and felt very safe. We highly recommend Algonac and are thankful for our treasured family time together!

Relaxing Get-Away
Wonderful and relaxing home with beautiful views of the woods and quick walk to the lake. Home is very clean and architecturally stunning with exposed beams, stone fireplace, huge windows and very comfortable lounge areas for reading or playing games. Kitchen is a delight to cook in. Lofts have steep stairs and open walls so more suitable for young adults or teenagers. Bathrooms are stunning with tile, stone floors and very clean. Manager Scott replies timely and is nice to work with. Our family had a lovely vacation there and will certainly return.

Just what we had hoped
Thanksgiving Day here was a host of memories. Our family rented this property to be closer to our hunting property, since we have recently moved. BEAUTIFUL home with the finest quality furnishings and kitchen ware I have seen. Bedrooms are not all private so Grandma could help with night duty for little ones to give parents a respite. Piano, which only needs more music books! Very steep driveway and rural area, so bring everything you need and plan to light a fire and totally enjoy a remote, peaceful, place to drink mimosas and play trivial pursuit late into the night.

The home we rented was exquisite! It was 1st class from the home to the furniture to the kitchen. We have a large family and everyone had plenty of room. We even enjoyed the large outdoor fireplace on a rainy day! Thanks Chris

Great family time!
We had a wonderful time catching up as a family with our siblings and adult children! The common space was plentiful with the huge grate room Where we enjoyed the fireplace, playing games and doing puzzles, eating and cooking. The downstairs grate room was perfect for our musical family to play their instruments etc. The outside fireplace area was a favorite for everyone! We certainly will be booking this absolutely stunning home again!

WOW WOW WOW!
Did I say WOW? Honestly I cannot think of another word that perfectly encapsulates our stay. We were wowed from the moment we pulled into the driveway and continued to be so the whole way through this magnificent home. We have stayed at hundreds of HomeAway properties and can honestly say this one was our favorite.
The architecture itself is amazing, not to mention the tasteful furnishings, lovely gourmet kitchen, and don't get me started on the fireplaces! We stayed for a family reunion and now plan to make this a yearly if not bi-yearly tradition!

Wonderful retreat with the family
We had a great time with our family here at Algonak. We loved the “great room”, a gathering place with no TV to just relax and talk and catch up. We all gathered on the porch for great laughs and used the outdoor fireplace for more togetherness. The kids loved the bedroom with the kid movies and we all walked down to the running stream together. Pay attention to the rules, no shoes, clean up, and do your dishes and take care of your garbage. This is a gorgeous lodge, better than the pictures!
