Would stay again! Great beach!

Honua Kai is a great resort, located perfecting on a giant long beach with great sand and waves safe enough to body surf. The Pools are nice, and we were always able to find a couple chairs to relax and watch our kid swim and enjoy the waterslide. Poolside drink/food service was quick and tasty. The suite was incredible, great view, comfy beds, everything you need to enjoy your vacation and feel like you're home. They also provide a cooler and some beach chairs which were very handy. My only suggestion is that some basic cleaning supplies be available. It would've been nice to be able to wipe the finger smudges from our kid off the open-air door to the deck and also a dustpan to collect crumbs and sand. Tip... Dukes books up fast so if you're trying to eat get reservations set before your trip or just plan to order food at the pool or leave and enjoy many places to eat in Lahaina.

The property is in a really great spot for families, the pools are well maintained and I love the towel system, so easy to use. We have visited Maui several times and this was the second time at this location. It’s nice having a quality restaurant on site, and the location is a short walk to the food trucks and the grocery store. This unit had all the basics, and it was a great space for our teenagers.

We stayed here over the week of Thanksgiving and attended the Maui Invitational. Convenient location, nice property.

We had a great time in Kaanapali at the Honua Kai. The unit had beach stuff and was well equipped for cooking, was clean and had great views and the location near Lahaina was excellent. Our only nits were: the checkin welcome was not very Hawaiian or nice (it didn't seem like they cared), they initially gave us a 5pm checkin and a 10a checkout, which were both strange, and the chair situation left something to be desired. Trying to get 4 chairs near each other after 10am was trying. Place could probably use a refresh and better hospitality but also might need to stay at the Westin Villas for that. Overall was a great stay for a good value.

Great place to stay!! We loved every minute!! The only wish we had was maybe cushions for the chairs on the lanai we never wanted to leave that spot!! 😎

This corner location gave us an amazing view of the ocean. The condo was clean and it had everything we needed.

Wonderful accommodations. All was great except only 1 elevator working. Long waits to use. Beach had a lot of sharp rocks. 😔 other than that, was wonderful.

This unit is exactly as pictured, in fact, it was larger than we were expecting. My husband and I and our 20 year old daughter stayed here for a week and loved having the extra space to spread out and multiple large bathrooms. Though we did very little eating in our unit, it was nice to have the full kitchen as well as the washer and dryer. It was also super clean. The view is beautiful and we really liked the resort. It has got everything you need but it's not huge or overly crowded. I can't really comment on the pool area because we are more beach people and never used it, but it looked nice. There is super easy access to the beach and a nice outdoor shower for rinsing off the sand when you return. Resort is close enough to the action to be convenient but closer to some of the less crowded grocery and food options on the north end of the Kaanapali area. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Maui. We had a great time!

My family and I just enjoyed a wonderful stay at this property. My husband and I had plenty of space for ourselves and our 3 teenagers. The place was very clean and well appointed with everything you’d need in the kitchen. The beach chairs and the ice chest were a huge bonus. The beach at the property is beautiful and it’s a quick drive to the hustle and bustle of Whaler’s village. Easy check-in and great communication with Maui property rental company. Would recommend and stay here again!

We loved our overall trip and the resort was wonderful. Great location, great beach and the pools and extra hot tubs were awesome! Food at Duke's was really wonderful. Overall would highly recommend it. Had a few check-in issues where we didn't have our rollaway bed and soap but once we called they resolved it pretty quickly.

This is our 4th time staying at Honua Kai and we love the convenience, the modern clean feel and access to beach. Love watching the whales and sunset every night from our balcony too. We have found some local hole in the wall places to eat and come back for those eateries too.

Our family had a wonderful 6 night stay in Honua Kai’s Hokulani Tower. We rented 2 2-bed units for 10 family members. The units were clean and outfitted with quality sheets and linens. The washer/dryer units were very handy. And the kitchens were complete with everything we needed. The pools were clean, and the beach was easily accessible. It was nice to have so many resort-related amenities In a condo setting. Maui Resort Rentals was very good at communicating with us throughout the planning stages and during our vacation stay. Happy to stay at Honua Kai and/or working with Maui Resort Rentals again.

We really liked this condo and would come back again!

Two 40ish couples rented this condo for an anniversary trip to Hawaii. It was perfect for our needs. Bedrooms and baths were roomy and well decorated. Kitchen and living space were comfortable and provided us with plenty of space. Only thing lacking in kitchen that we could see was a cutting board. Balcony offered excellent sunset views and we loved how the doors opened all the way to really give us that Hawaii feel. This unit is in a corner so the balcony is on the small side. I did find myself wishing we had a larger balcony with more seating, especially lounge type chairs. We spent a lot of time on the balcony and it was tight with 4 adults. Unit came with 4 beach chairs, an umbrella and a cooler that we used often. There is a grocery store within walking distance and we went there three times for food and drinks. We also used the Maui Resort Rentals shuttle several times which saved us a lot of money since we decided not to rent a car and used Uber or Lyft when we couldn't use the free shuttle. Overall this is a great, clean unit that we highly recommend.

We stayed four nights at the Honua Kai and could not have been more pleased with the cleanliness of the unit, the amentites of the resort, and the attention of Maui Resort Rentals--comforting to know someone is always there if need be. We will be back and will definitely use Maui Resort Rentals again!

For most of our stay this was not an issue, presumably because it was vacant, but on the last two days, at around 6 am, the guests in the unit above us would start excessively moving around the outdoor furniture, which resulted it loud noises in the master bedroom. We did not do anything on our end to address this issue (i.e. letting Maui Resort Rentals know or calling building management) so we don't know if it could have been resolved by communicating the issue to the guests in that unit.

Our stay was amazing. The unit had a great view, was very clean, and was well appointed. Honua Kai is an amazing property. The choice of pools, hot tubs, and small kid pool play areas were incredible. The Maui Resort Rental company that handled our questions/needs was great! We had beach toys, beach chairs, high chair, playpen, and even used their shuttle service. This was absolutely the easiest and most enjoyable vacation we have had with kids. We would repeat this stay in a heartbeat!
