We rented this property for a get together for us, our children and grandchildren. It was perfect for our family. A lot of space for the children to play, they enjoyed the playground, and game room. Kitchen was spacious and very well supplied! We loved the decks and picnic tables and the many comfortable sitting areas with plenty of comfy couches and chairs! We also loved the location, it is out by itself and in a very pretty location. We will use it again!

Fantastic property with tons of space inside. The kitchen had everything we needed. Linens provided was a huge plus. Easy check in process/checkout process. Clean up was a breeze with the provided house keeping service. The outside of the property has two big fields, playground, picnic benches, and a bonfire with wood provided. We had a group of teenagers and they all loved it. We also loved being so close to the Shenandoah for tubing and took advantage of Luray Caverns close by. Under the deck needs some cleaning . We encountered a lot of bugs and wasps while outside All in all would highly recommend. Bring bug spray if staying in the summer.

My overall impression of the place is wow! However there are some issues that need taking care of. The windows, of which there are many are all very dirty and most are inoperable. Two big sliding glass doors were extremely difficult to open and close there's rotting wood in several places and carpenter bees everywhere in the wood deck area. The gas fireplace in the main room didn't work and the hot tub was not too clean and kept blowing a fuse. We did bring theses issues up to hosts but they were never addressed. The place is getting old and in need of some much needed updating and repairs.

This property is very comfortable and has plenty of amenities for a short weekend stay or longer. We had a great catering company and Chef from Maintstreet Bakery help us out with some terrific meals. He prepared a lunch for 12 for our first day and then a bbq dinner with Ribs, chicken and more, also for 12, for Friday night. Food was delicious! Chef Chuck Arnaud is the owner and he and his staff did a great job.

This house was phenomenal. The photos are great but I have genuinely never been to a place where the house is better than the pictures. The rooms and beds were so comfortable, the activities were plentiful and amazing, and the fire pit was one of the best setups I have ever seen. Definitely would recommend booking here

Overall we enjoyed our stay, but for how much we paid there are a few areas that need to be addressed. - some of the playground is falling apart. Nails and wood falling off. - The ice machine leaked all over the floor, left a constant giant puddle. - The door off the library/sun room is broken and very very hard to open. - Every TV remotes batteries were dead. We didn’t pack batteries. - We paid for the bouncy house thurs-sun. The manager never showed up Thursday despite the fact that I texted him the night before to remind him. I called him midday on Thursday and he said he wouldn’t come because at 5;00 pm there was a 20% chance of rain. It never rained. He should have at least called me to let me know. The corn hike bags were gross. We had a nice time, it’s in a great location, but you can’t charge a premium price and not deliver a premium experience.

We had a group of 17 adults and 10 children. Ranging in age from 3-85. It was perfect for everyone. Clean, stocked with items you needed and located privately with great outdoor amenities too.

We rented the property for our staff retreat. We are preschool educators, and everyone deserved some time to kick back and relax. This house was the perfect place for everyone to have their own space, and to have enough space to gather together for meals and meetings. We had a fantastic time and look forward to returning in the future! The views were spectacular!

We got married at Luray Caverns and couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. The Westcott House was a dream come true, holding all our friends and family while providing entertainment for all ages. We were truly grateful to have found this place and have it be apart of our special weekend!

This property is Absolutely fantastic and perfect was perfect for our needs! My daughter got married, locally and d this is where our immediate family stayed! Soo many rooms that we all had our wing…lol! And the fire pit and playground are amazing! It was worth every penny!!!!

This house was amazing. Rooms were clean, views were nice, and check in was smooth and easy. My family enjoyed the updated amenities and the fully equipped kitchens. The home was well maintained and had lots of activities for the kids and adults. I even was able to rent a moonbounce from the property last minute with no issues. I can't say enough good things about this place. The fire pit and grilling area were great for our event and so were the huge decks and array of seating areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend. All pros and no cons.

It was everything we expected it to be plus more. It was Very Clean! I give a 5 star rating and highly recommend this house to others! The children loved the play set outside, and the adults made great use of all the games available!!!😀

This was the first family reunion where we needed to find a non-family member's home to hold it at. The previous five were in a large house in the Carolina mountains. The Wescott House was a perfect venue for our reunion. One of the most common questions I got all weekend was "How did you find this place?" because everyone thought it was great. There was plenty of room for 50 people, and we could cook our large Syrian feast without trouble, thanks to the two large kitchens. This mix of indoor and outdoor space (including the playground, picnic area, and fire pit) gave us plenty of options to spread out and spend time together. We hope to have another reunion here in the future.

The house is beautiful and spacious and exactly as pictured. Host is extremely responsive. Overall great experience, and would definitely recommend if you have a large enough group and are traveling to the area.

I had my fist cabin experience on my 50th bday! Covid canceled my last bday party so I needed a place with lots space so I could enjoy my family and still social distance. This place was ideal! It had everything we needed from pots and bowls and the ice maker was a savior! I can go on and on about how great this place is but I think if you are looking for a spacious place for a large or small gathering THIS IS IT! I’m already planning another trip here for this year. The Wescott house Rocks! Literally lol

Our church held a weekend retreat at this house and it couldn't have been a more perfect location. A quick drive from DC, a beautiful home with great accomodations. The Westcott House was exceptionally clean and looked even better than the pictures on the website!

The Westcott House was the perfect stay for a surprise birthday party this past weekend. Everyone in our group was shocked at how nice and big it was. The property management had impeccable communication and were always available. They even allowed us to set up a volleyball net and slip n' slide for the weekend and we played Quarantine Olympics! The space was HUGE! Pictures did not do it justice and all of the bedrooms were amazing. The Master even has its own fireplace and extra sitting area. As a matter of fact, all of the rooms had ample space and never felt cramped. We truly had the best time and this space could not have been more perfect for our group.

This house is INCREDIBLE. It met our group's needs and was spacious enough for everyone to feel comfortable. It feels remote yet is close to the town of Luray (within a 20 minute drive). The drive to the house follows the river, a relaxing introduction to a peaceful weekend retreat. A perfect spot for a secluded stay with access to local activities. It is less than 30 minutes away from Thornton Gap entrance to the Shenandoah National Park! We really enjoyed the large bonfire pit and meals on the porch. Great view from that part of the house. The space was very clean and the bedrooms also very comfortable. I would definitely visit with a group again! Plus, the house manager was very helpful and easy to communicate with during our stay.

This is my organization's 5th year in a row staying at Westcott House, and the property remains in great shape. Loved the new additional amenities of the ice maker, drinks cooler, and basic toiletries kits in the bathrooms. If you have a large group, this is a perfect place. Easy drive to area hiking trails, groceries, and depending on 66 traffic, an easy trip out from DC. Rental agency is great to work with, communicative, and available if any issues arise. Will definitely keep coming back.

This location was great. We had previously been here as invitees for another event and my wife and I were not sure about the process to reserve the house- it ended up being very straight forward. At one point, there was a discrepancy in nightly costs. We emailed the contact address and they straightened it out VERY quickly. We had several more questions before the actual stay and they answered those questions just as fast. There are two things I would improve. First, if there was a list of where items were, that would be perfect (ie- the broom should be in the downstairs closet, the dish soap is under the upstairs sink, the dumpster is near the parking lot, etc). If there was a list somewhere, we missed it. Second (and this one may not be possible) is improvement of the wifi in the house. There are range extender outlet plugs you can use to increase range/coverage of networks within houses. However it may be dependent on overall speeds of the plan, which may not be great considering this is a rural house on the side of the mountain. Even with those two things that could be slightly improved, the rest of the process, the house, and the stay were excellent and I would recommend any group with 12 or more people definitely stay here (this house is probably too big for fewer than that).

We used the cabin for a 28-person family reunion with family ranging from under 2 to seniors. It was a really great space overall and had all the amenities listed. I wish the listing had pictures of every bedroom because we did have a few specific accommodations we needed that I was having a hard time figuring out which rooms would suit each family best. But the listing of beds is accurate if you need to just go by that. Our biggest complaint was that the outside space needed some upkeep. The grounds were well kept, but the wraparound patio, especially on the ground level, was pretty dirty and all the chairs and fixtures were coated with bugs and spiderwebs. It would have required a significant spray down with water to get clean, which we weren’t able to do and it did impede our ability to enjoy that space. We also had to spray about 10 wasp nests out from under the playground the first day we went out to use that, which kept us from using that area for a while. That might be something the grounds keepers need to check for more often. Overall the house fit our needs space wise and the manager was very responsive during our couple of needs we asked about during our stay. We would stay here again.
