Great location on the island. Easy access to main roads. Unit fully equipped with all necessities. Host and hostess were very responsive. Nice personal touch with a fruit basket and snacks upon our arrival. Highly recommend. Complex is older but nicely kept up. Access to beach was great.

Arlene is the consummate host—easy to communicate with, has supplied everything you will need to stay in or pack up and spend the day at a Maui swimming beach. She even supplied us with a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit and treats! Beach on the property is great to walk in the water with shoes and fabulous for viewing the sunset. You can walk on the backroads to breakfast in the morning. The property is quiet, sits on an expansive lawn with well maintained gardens and the pool is close. There was ample parking. We loved our time there! If you are a large person, you may find the bathrooms tight.

Everything was perfect for our first trip to Maui. Great views from a relaxing environment, we can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely loved the place, Great location close to many beaches. Grounds were well kept and even better equipped. Arlene gave us personal touches throughout the condo she customized to make us feel at home. The supplied beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, etc were invaluable to us all having a perfect getaway. We would definitely stay here again

Arlene was just fabulous, welcoming, organized, and magical! The unit was perfectly appointed, impeccably clean, comfortable, with gorgeous mountain and ocean views. Cannot recommend highly enough, thank you for a beautiful visit!

The condo is very pleasant! The bed is especially wonderful and the hosts chose expensive linens and SIX pillows - even one particularly “firm” one . That was very thoughtful! Two bathrooms and a well planned supply of kitchen utensils, silverware and dishes. Very tasteful decorations, comfortable couch and a TERRIFIC reclining chair in the living room; set perfectly in front of a TV that had cable and all the channels. I felt safe at all times and made friends with other women down by the pool. There was , by chance, a daily AA meeting at noon only steps away from my door . The meeting location was even noted as “Maui Sunset” as location ! I doubt that my hosts, Arlene and Joseph even knew that but I did share that info with them. All in all, a perfect place and I can imagine a family of three or four being very comfy there. Must’ve been thought out that way as there were an ample number of beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. I didn’t need it, but the sofa could open up to a double bed!

From the moment I booked the condo Arlene made the experience delightful. She communicated often and when I arrived the entire home was perfectly appointed. It was the best hosting I’ve ever had, she and her husband made my stay so delightful I never wanted to leave. Aside from exemplary hosts, the condo was ideal—the location is central to the whole island with views of both the volcano peak and priceless sunsets on the ocean from your balcony. The staff and services available are another level of support to make your time stay a dream come true. I can’t wait to come back!

Arlene is such a delight! She is in communication with you before and during to make sure all your questions are addressed!! Maui Sunset is a great property located on the beach - it is well maintained and A502 is wonderful also located on the top floor! We definitely will be back…someday!!

Old but nice . A little cramped but ok . TV was terrible. Maybe my fault . Didn’t have instructions on how to operate . Volume up to 100 and still couldn’t hear it. But overall we really enjoyed

I liked the area (Kihei) and the condo complex. Many activities available and an enforced quiet time at night. Condo was clean and owner provided necessities and a wonderful array of fresh fruit at check-in. The beach furniture and towels were a definite plus. Owner was very accessible and always friendly.

What a wonderful property! We loved all the special touches. The fruit basket was a wonderful surprise. Although it seems small, the brita filter was such a welcome addition. I hate purchasing bottled water and not having to was great. Communication with Arlene was easy and she was very responsive and caring. Overall an excellent experience.

We’ve stayed in a lot of Vrbos over the years. This is not the most high-end place we have stayed, but it is absolutely one of the best places we have stayed. Arlene was amazing to work with throughout the process. She and her husband put some wonderful touches and details throughout to make the stay as perfect as possible. Others have mentioned the fruit and snack tray that Arlene leaves. It is every bit as fabulous as it sounds. There was also water that was perfect for us - a couple of bottles of sparkling water for my husband and a pitcher (like a Brita) of filtered water for me. I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed somewhere that has had a filtered pitcher before. Having that perfect filtered water throughout my stay helped make it so much better. There were so many other small, yet very significant, things that added value as well. In addition to more typical things, Arlene left cotton balls, clothes to remove makeup, nail polish remover, and even bathroom scales. Don’t worry - they are tucked in cabinets so you don’t need to see them or think about weight if you do not want to. Prior to our stay here, we spent a couple of days in a Vrbo condo on Oahu. As I normally do, I was grumbling to my husband about these places never having any anti-slip features in showers/tubs. But of course, Arlene left an anti-slip mat in the shower. There are also soft-close toilet seats in the bathrooms. We have these at home, so I have a hard time remembering when I travel that I can’t just drop the lid. At this condo, I didn’t have to worry about that. Others have mentioned the beach supplies - chairs, coolers, etc. Those are wonderful and of a high quality. The bed is also amazing as well as being able to get the bedroom pretty dark. The resort is, again, not the most high-end resort, but it is still absolutely wonderful. Check-in was a breeze and the staff were very friendly. Parking was not a problem at all. The elevators worked very well. Other guests and residents were very nice and friendly. The pool and hot tub were maintained very well. The two condo buildings have a large grassy area in between them with grills, some plants, and plenty of space to walk around, for kids to play, lawn games, etc. In the evenings this makes an excellent gathering spot for watching sunsets. Be sure to walk down to the beach at sunset. A few of the residents make this extra special. Thanks for sharing your condo Arlene! It was our best Vrbo yet!

Great bed and the pull out sofa was the best I have seen. The pool was large and the Maui Sunset is in a convient location to other parts of Maui.

Loved this property! Arlene was very communicative from the moment of booking, and the apartment felt like I was really living on the beach rather than a sterile hotel vibe!

The condo was nice and the pool facilities with the rentals were great. It was a little far from most of our activities in Lahaina and Kaanapali, but we made them all. Overall, we had a great time. Thank you Arlene, Sincerely Doug Wheelhouse

The property was clean, well equipped, and a nice location. Arlene checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Arlene is a gracious and highly communicative host from the time of booking, more than I’m used to. But I never felt like I was bothering her with questions, and she made us feel like she genuinely wanted us to be able to make wonderful memories in Maui. The 5-star reviews didn’t disappoint, but I’d give it a 4.8/4.9 overall if this form didn’t require 4 or 5 star choices. For example, the two air conditioners were programmable and could only be on for 4 hours max at a time. Also, upon leaving, you’re asked to get laundry going and do some other things to help the busy housekeepers. This isn’t a big deal, but was a little off-putting considering how much we paid to stay there. These and other nit-picky things are minor in the face of all the goodness; I just don’t take perfect reviews lightly. Overall our experience was lovely. Maui Sunset is well-maintained and provides fun activities. True to its name, we enjoyed walking out and watching the sunsets. The condo didn’t have the best view in the complex, but my husband, teenage daughter and I could easily see both the ocean and mountains during our daily relaxing meals on the lanai/balcony, and we were so happy with it. The condo was equipped with everything we needed and more, and the beds were comfortable. Kihei turned out to be one of the best places to stay on the island, in my op. It’s centrally located & Lahaina/Wailea felt a bit more packed and touristy to us. My only criticism is the refundable security deposit vs insurance choice. We opted for the former to avoid paying extra money. But it takes so long for VRBO to reimburse you the $$$$ (>14 days) that you may get charged interest if you put it on your credit card like we did. It’s supposed to be a “hold” (typically just shows up under pending); however ours had posted as a charge, and I verified that with my credit card company. This summer we’re paying off the rest of our last-minute vacation balance, so that combined with the security deposit didn’t help. My credit card company said we could file a dispute with VRBO and possibly get the interest money back, but Im done with further hassle. I understand the logic of protecting one’s investment, but I prefer the other B&B properties in which we’ve stayed that simply required an agreement that we would be charged after the fact if we broke something.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maui Sunset! The location was perfect for our family, and the grounds were a lot of fun. We cannot wait to go back again.

Lovely property; Arlene is a fabulous hostess! I mentioned it would be nice to have a larger umbrella - the next day a brand new 8 foot umbrella was delivered! The water, fruit and chocolates are a lovely welcome!

As most reviews have already said Arlene is very attentive and responds quickly to any questions you might have. The property is very nice and well kept. With all the people there never found the property to be to busy and was able to make use of all the anemities that we wanted. There is a beach out front but I wouldn't say its much good except for sitting and maybe playing in sand as if you go out in the water it is a very rocky and not good for swimming, but alot of other beaches around. We had a great trip only regret is we didn't stay longer. Nice touch having the fruit plate as we tried alot of things we otherwise would never have.

Property Owner very attentive with any questions we had. Gifts on arrival added sweet beginnings for our trip. Condo well equipped with everything we needed. The entire property , grounds, pool area super nice. My husband loved loved the exercise room. Really great experience overall.

We had a great time during our stay in Kihei. The condo was clean and very organized. The property at Maui Sunset is beautifully maintained and my kids loved the pool and hot tub! Arlene was a fantastic host, we loved our gift basket on arrival and she was able to offer us a late check out at the last minute which was great. We would stay again!

For 2 adults who love to cook local ingredients while traveling, we were delighted to find such a well appointed condo. The kitchen had every tool and small appliance we needed, which never happens! Also, beach chairs, towels, umbrella, reef-friendly sunblock in case your forgot yours…and the most beautiful tropical fruit basket! Arlene (owner) is delightful and kindly checks in with you and then honors your privacy during your stay. As long as you don’t need a big space, as the unit is compact, this condo is perfect. Nice views from the lanai, too.

The Condo rocked, very comfy, near many conveniences, close to beach pool & hot tub. Gorgeous sunsets. We will be returning.! Plus the Bed was wonderful :-). To top it off I left my new Maui Jim Sunglasses, Arlene the owner was Gracious enough to send them to me in Alaska, she is a true GEM!!!

We rented this great condo for a 9 day stay in the Kihei area of Maui. This Top Floor Condo had everything we needed for a successful stay. Particularly loved the large Lanai, with glorious views of the Sunset over the Ocean Our Host provided custom extras based upon our preferences, and was responsive to our questions during the stay.

The condo was great and very comfortable. The ocean view from the lanai was beautiful. Arlene was a wonderful host and very easy to talk to. She makes her guests feel special. The fresh fruit platter was full of island deliciousness! We had a great trip and can't wait to come back😊

The location and Sunset view from this condo are truly amazing! Arlene was a gracious host and my family (with 2 littles) had a great time at her property over the Christmas holiday. Spacious and safe lush garden and grassy area for the kids to run free. Great value on a great property! I highly recommend Maui Sunset.
