House was spotless and fresh. We were greeted on arrival and made to feel welcome and at home. The location is quiet, but an easy walk to the beach or good restaurants.

The house is in a nice neighborhood a couple blocks from the beach/harbor. Nicely decorated and very pleasant. We visited the coastside and did San Francisco a couple days (only 30 min drive). Communication and setup was great.

We had a wonderful time at Teresa and Glenn's property! The house is exactly as described and so much more. Whether you're looking to enjoy a quiet stay in HMB or use it (as we did) for home base for your Bay Area excursions, this is a wonderful spot, we could have stayed here forever! The house has all the amenities you need, along with some very sweet surprise treats from Teresa and Glenn. They have thought of everything! Lorri was also very gracious while introducing us to the property and checking us out. She made sure we had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the back yard and fire pit as well as cooking together in the kitchen. We always had everything we needed for whatever we wanted to do. It was also the perfect, relaxing spot to land after a full day of exploring San Francisco. So close to the beach and the adorable downtown HMB we found this to be the perfect spot with all the amenities we could ask for - and so much more! Thanks to Teresa, Glenn, and Lorri for helping to make our family trip so amazing!!! We can't wait to come back and stay here again.

My family and I have stayed at this property several times and have been pleased every time. The house is very comfortable and the owners have thought of everything to make guest feel at home from binoculars for bird watching to supplies for s’mores. We look forward to staying again soon!

Awesome coastal property with everything you need!

This was one of the cutest VRBO properties in which we've stayed, and we've stayed in many. We've never had the personal check-in experience that Lori provides. She was so sweet, had some great restaurant recommendations and all the extra goodies she left were just above and beyond the usual amenities. The house itself was in a great location, and made it easy to travel the coast north or south and was a quick drive away from the city, where we attended a concert. Although we were there during the atmospheric river / bomb cyclone event, we built a fire and stayed cozy while watching it rain. The house decor makes it fun to stay indoors and explore all the whimsical details and book collections throughout. From start to finish renting this property was amazing. The house is gorgeous. The owners and Lori were so accommodating and every small touch they did made us feel welcome. 100% would stay on at their property again. It's beautiful and even better than advertised.

Overall I am extremely satisfied with our stay. The owners Glenn and Teresa were great in communicating the house and check-in process, and provided some great recommendations for food and activities. The house is amazing, everything was very clean and in a great location near the beach and they city, and the back yard was perfect to sit and enjoy the nice weather. Lorri was very attentive to getting us checked in and out on time, and helped give us a great overview of the house and location. I would highly recommend staying at this house!

Our family of five had a terrific time. The house is well stocked and extremely clean. Lots of thought put into details, which we noticed throughout our stay.

Four adults (my wife and I and my mother and father) stayed at this home for five nights. Teresa, Glenn and Lorri made the experience a breeze. A lovely bottle of wine left for us by our hosts was enjoyed by all, not to mention the incredible muffins and cake baked by Lorri's daughter who operates a bakery nearby! The outdoor area is lovely with a fire pit and and a table for outdoor dining, including an electric heater for cool nights. The location is perfect for going to the harbor, the beach or into Half Moon Bay. Nice, fully-functioning bikes in the garage allowed my wife and I to take a ride down to the nearby Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

The home is beautifully appointed (a real designer showcase), perfectly located (a short walk to the ocean & quiet neighborhood) and the manager was an absolute gem! Everything we needed was provided as well as several special, unexpected treats! What gracious hosts, a lovely home, wonderful service from Lori (the manager) - we felt so very special! Can't recommend this enough - a pure joy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to go back again. The home is beautiful and the owners have gone out of their way to make it feel like "home". The home is stocked with everything you could need...and then some. The check-in and check-out process is very personalized which adds such a nice touch.

A wonderful house, with a wonderful welcome!! Lori, the manager, cheerfully greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the house. So much more personal and welcoming than a lock box. We were further welcomed with wine, cheese & muffins. The house was wonderful and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking implements and dishes needed for a 4 week stay like ours. It exceeded our expectations with a very nice backyard with a fire pit, dining table, grill and heater. The play house was a big hit with our grandchildren, with an added surprise of basket of toys waiting for them inside. Our stay at this VRBO could not have been better!! Thank you Theresa, Glen and Lori for making our stay so wonderful!! The location of Half Moon Bay was also very good.

Great stay at this coastal home. The accommodations were excellent and the property has everything you need for a relaxing coastal getaway. Having coffee every morning sitting at the patio table in the secluded backyard taking in fresh coastal air - hearing the sounds of the Princeton foghorn and the waves crashing onto the shore - is priceless. This was our second stay and can’t say enough about this vacation home. Thank you!

We had an incredible experience at the Beach House. The house was impeccably clean and the attention to detail all over the house transported our family instantly into vacation mode. The house has an incredible book collection -- children's books, coffee table books, novels, and historical books - that completed our transport into this magical seaside town. The kids (ages 1, 3, 7) loved the club house in back and it was fully loaded with beach toys, blankets and games. The fire pit in the back is perfect for cozy evenings. Wonderful stay at the Gilliam’s VRBO. Home is beautiful inside and out - lots of room, comfy, beautifully decorated. Lovely backyard - really extends the living area. Look forward to another trip to Half Moon Bay!

My family of 5 (kids ages 3, 8 and 9) stayed here recently and LOVED it! Lorri met us at check in and check out and was super helpful and sweet. The amenities, like boogey boards, the kids’ playhouse, the beach towels, washer and dryer, etc were all a major bonus and made our stay very comfortable. The property is beautiful and the location is even better than I expected. The neighborhood is quiet and you can hear the ocean at night, since it’s just a 5 minute walk away. We will definitely be coming back! I would even come here with girlfriends for a relaxing girls’ trip or just my husband and make it a romantic stay.

Our family of three thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Half Moon Bay, and hope to book another stay this fall in Teresa and Glenn's beautiful home. We have stayed in many vrbo's over the years, but this experience stands out as one of a kind, in terms of the care that Teresa & Glenn have taken to make their guests feel pampered. We were warmly greeted (via safe social distance) by the lovely property manager Lorri, with some surprise toys for our daughter to play with, as well as an assortment of delicious treats (wine, cheese, yummy baked goods) that made us feel so welcome and at home. Communication was also excellent throughout the stay. We had not had a vacation in quite a long time because of the pandemic, so it was truly such a gift to be able to relax and enjoy the beauty of this home, as well as the gorgeous surrounding beaches. We're careful about taking COVID precautions, and our hosts took great care to ensure every one's safety -- the home is spotless and was also stocked with cleaning supplies and extra masks, just in case! We are truly grateful for this restorative week away from it all. Thank you to our gracious hosts.

I’ve stayed in several places and the level of thought and detail in this home is second to none. We loved every minute of our stay - from backyard play to the beautiful light fixtures in every room. Further, communication with our hosts was excellent. Highly recommend!

WOW! I loved how beautifully the home was decorated. It is very comfortable, homey and inviting. The whirlpool tub was a wonderful way to end the day after a long hike. Look forward to booking it again next summer!

From the moment we walked up to the charming front entrance and were warmly greeted by Lorri we knew we were in for a relaxing retreat. The beautiful home is filled with nautical decor, vintage treasures, homey touches and tons of books (which this bibliophile was thrilled to see and read!) The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could need and more. They even provided popcorn, hot chocolate, s'mores kit, juice, wine and a delicious chocolate cake when we arrived! Beds were all super comfy with high quality linens. The entire house was sparkling clean and they even left a caddy with extra sanitizing supplies for peace of mind. Perfect location, very quiet neighborhood less than 10 minutes from the beach and even closer to Quarry Park trails. Breakwater BBQ and Sam's Chowder House and many other restaurants close by. Get takeout and enjoy at the beach or in the spacious backyard! Amazing hosts with great communication, and Lorri, the caretaker, is so personable and welcoming! We can't wait to come back again soon for a longer stay!

Our stay in July in the coastal community of El Granada was greatly enhanced by the comfortable elegance of this well appointed property. The hosts thought of everything to help us feel at home (snacks, wine and breakfast treats upon arrival, plenty of books, games and movies, and a well stocked kitchen with all the essential cleaning supplies.) The house and the yard are spacious and impeccably maintained. Three of us were in town to visit family and the backyard was large enough to enjoy meals (and s’mores at the fire pit) socially-distanced outside. Beds were comfortable with extra linens, blankets and towels available. The location is far enough above the highway to not hear noise from the cars but close enough to easily walk to the beach. We enjoyed a comfortable and restful stay and will most definitely return!

I stayed here for several months while my house was renovated. The house is lovely and fully stocked such that all that was needed was to bring my clothes. Access to beaches is very convenient. Quiet location. Highly recommended.

We came back, that should say something! We stayed here last year for 3 months and this year for 3 weeks. The owners are outstanding and really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and attended to. It is as comfortable and charming as it was a year ago. We really like this little oasis. It is a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Palo Alto and SF, yet only about a 30 minute drive away. The town of HMB is only a 5 minute drive away. But the beach is only a 5 minute walk away! It is the perfect little getaway.

This is our fourth year staying at this beautiful home. Teresa is so thoughtful with the home being so personally welcoming. We would not consider staying anywhere else in HMB. Laurie the property manager is fantastic with all the details about our stay and her sincerity for us to have a wonderful time at the house and HMB is perfect! The night walks on the beach are like something you read about, mesmerizing! Thank you so much for another beautiful Thanksgiving tradition with our family! I have stayed in numerous rentals on VRBO in all different parts of the country and this is by far our favorite. Can’t wait to see you again next year!

I would not hesitate to recommend to friends or return for another stay

This property is perfect! It was just a short drive or walk to the beach and a great food! Lorri met us at the home and greeted us warmly and showed us around the property. She was punctual and full of information to help us with our stay. She made us a chocolate cake and croissants and left a bottle of wine. The frig was stocked with coffee necessities, juice and tea so we didn’t have to go anywhere the night of check in! So thoughtful! Every detail of the house is perfectly thought out and purposeful... which is just how i would do it for a guest, so i respected that soooo much! We used the fire pit, the games, the CD’s, the beach towels and chairs and ate almost ALL of that chocolate cake! We actually enjoyed the house so much after staying in a one bedroom hotel in SF for several days, that we didn’t want to leave much! I just can’t say enough about what an amazing family time and memories that were made during our stay! Thank you so much for all of the effort! We stayed at this beautiful little home in July 2019. Artfully designed, equipped with everything we needed, including bikes, quiet surroundings, a quick walk to the beach with hiking and bike trails all around. We were warmly greeted with snacks, a tour, and friendly conversation. The thoughtfulness of the owners to make this a delightful stay did not go unnoticed. Half moon bay was a great central location for our busy vacation, and was about a 1 hour drive to everywhere we needed to be. Thank you for your hospitality!

We spent several weeks here in the winter and couldn't have been more comfortable. Every amenity you can think of was available to us, in fact they are more well stocked than my actual house. The thoughtful touches are many: Cake, coffee, and s'mores upon arrival. There are book, magazines, a child's playhouse in the yard, fire pit, heat lamps, grill, outside blankets, bicycles, picnic stuff--everything to make you stay comfortable. Our favorite part was the proximity to the beach. Every single day it didn't rain, we walked by the beach or rode the bikes. There are several charming unpretentious seaside restaurants all less than an 1.5 mile walk. Famous "Sam's Chowder House" with it's unending crowds was easily accessible to us since we could walk there and didn't have to fight the parking scarcity. Old Princeton Landing was a grittier surf bar that made awesome from scratch food (and oddly enough had the best Acai' bowls on the coast) and had bands on the weekend, a patio, and no lack of surfers. Miramar restaurant had spectacular views and old school super specials on Thursday. We enjoyed Cloud 9 foot massage that also offered regular massages for incredible prices and the Oceana Coastal Spa that was a little more plush and pricey, but more like a traditional Spa. Take a quick drive to Moss Beach--there is a short looped walk there through Cypress trees that has spectacular views of the ocean and on one end (depending on the season) the birthing grounds for hundreds of seals. Location: 30-40 minutes to the North you are in San Francisco, 30 minutes over the mountains and you have great little towns for shopping and dining--Burlingame, San Mateo, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, 2 hours South to Monterey and Carmel. 2 hours north-east Napa, Sonoma 3 hours north-east- Tahoe It is a great base location for exploring the Northern coast and cities of this area. This review is getting really long, but I wanted to share this homes great qualities with you. Last but not least is Lorri, the home's caretaker and check in host. She is great to work with and very professional. She truly treats this house as her own and really cares if you are comfortable and have everything you need. The homes owners, Glenn and Theresa take meticulous care of this house and it should be a showpiece of beach houses everywhere. We were really sad to leave.

We had an absolutely lovely time in Half Moon Bay. My family all arrived late and tired from various places, to a beautiful home and welcome treats (cakes, cheese & crackers, wine & nuts) and croissants & jam for the morning. So nice that we didn't have to rush out for breakfast. The home is just as described and pictured. The beds, linens, towels, etc. are all top notch. Everything was spic and span clean. The decor and furniture feels new - nothing seemed dated or worn down. We slept, ate, played games, walked on the beach & rode bikes - it was exactly what we wanted. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook - though Half Moon Bay also has some great restaurants, along with some cute shops. Overall - we had a wonderful time. The hosts were incredibly accommodating to our schedules (we arrived late due to plane delays) and left early to catch a flight. We would stay here again - and so should you!
