Had fun at the Scottish Highland Games.

We had a nice time and the house had everything we needed. It is an older house and some updating of bathrooms would be nice. Communication with the owner was good. A nice extra were the Deer that came around every day on property. Three minute drive to the ski resort was easy. Good Restaurants within a short 2 minute drive. Same with a General Store that has any extras you might need.

Great lodge near Beech Mountain with views of the slopes. We had a lovely view of the NYE fireworks while sat around the wood burner. Great location for the slopes and hiking. Kitchen had everything you’d need. The owner was very helpful and let us move our start date of the vacation. Thank you we had a fantastic time.

We loved spending our Christmas here!! Location, location, location!! You are less than .5 miles from Beech Mountain Ski Resort! The living room boasts views of the slopes and looks gorgeous at night! The house fit all 5 of us perfectly!! We will definitely be back!!

Plenty of sleeping space and room with a full kitchen! Ski slope can be seen from the cabin. Walking distance to slope and Fred's General Store!

Property had to be cleaned after we arrived, had not been done. All else was good accept no t v signal. Most of time. But house was older but comfortable and.very adequate

Had a great time with friends and family. The veiw of the ski slop was nice. The house is older but had all you need. We stay in the NC mountains 2 to 4 times a year. This was our first time with this host Wallace Reed. Wallace was great! Very responsive to calls and email. Thanks Wallace.

Cozy cabin experience very open air wonderful fireplace with fully stocked kitchen. Spacious bedrooms nice size bathroom’s, cabin has fantastic view of the ski slopes also while sitting on the front porch feed the dear.

The location was perfect to the slopes and back into town for shopping. The layout of the house was great with friends and kids(bunk beds and a closet full of toys). We had an issue with the heat in the loft area but the fireplace took care of that for the whole house. The kitchen was fully stocked enough we had no problem cooking Thanksgiving dinner. The table sits 8 and the kids used the coffee table. The porch was perfect for grilling and our dogs enjoyed the room the property has for them to run. We used a baby gate we brought and they liked hanging out on the porch. Over all a great relaxing trip for all of us.

The cabin is a bit dated but the location is great. Could walk to the store and very close to chairs if you are going in the wintertime

The property is very private and close proximately to the resort. Bikers can access the trails easily. Coming back you need to follow the road that crosses the resort down if you don't want to pedal uphill. Nice layout for multiple couples. The description needs to be updated in that the Beech Mountain Club is not allowing guest access at this time. So make sure to double check on that if important to you. A previous reviewer mentioned a great view in the winter. Just an FYI that is not there in the summer as you are surrounded by trees...but that is nice in itself. Great communication from the host. Nice place with 3 king size beds. All condiments, spices, etc. Plenty of towels. Very comfortable. easy check in, check out. Only wish is the owner would communicate a little better

Our family of 4 (9 and 11 year old kids) had a fantastic time at the Windameir Property. Below are some details that I hope are helpful for others. We went the first off season week in March, so snow on the roads this trip was not an issue. Location - Super convenient to everything - slopes, several restaurants, Fred's (small grocery and general shop) and the trash drop off. All of those are seriously a 2-3 minute car ride. House Layout - Exactly as advertised --well, EXCEPT for the view -- it had an AMAZING view of the mountain that was not included in the photos (I'll try to upload one from inside the living room looking out). It was neat to see the 'grooming machines' on the mountains in the evenings. On the first floor - you have the Master (King Bed) wit the laundry room attached. And you also have 2 of the other bedrooms, one with a Queen and the other with a double/single bunk bed (these 2 bedrooms share a full bathroom). The 4th bedroom is actually like a 'loft suite' - its a King bed and has its own bathroom. This house fit our needs perfectly as all 4 of us wanted our own private 'space' to complete work/school as needed. Also, the king loft upstairs has a desk (which my husband claimed as his working space). The internet supported our needs just fine! Kitchen - I always bring items we are going to use (extra paper towels, plastic wrap/bags and my own blender), but this kitchen definitely seemed to have everything. The only thing we 'cooked' on our trip was spaghetti, but it looked like they had way more pots and pans then you could ever need! While we don't drink coffee - for those that do, it looks like it had both the cup and traditional makers available. Laundry - Just a heads up, its 'liquid' detergent only. Not an issue for us as we brought our Tide with us, but in case anyone still uses powder, it's good to know! Trash - with bears in the area (thankfully we only saw deer!) but you need to bring the trash to the community center (probably just 1 mile away). Since we ventured out 2-3 times daily, we would just bring it there daily (we ordered out nearly every meal at the house, so we had many bulky pizza and to-go boxes). But just put the placard in your car and its a really easy and quick trip to drop it off! Communication - Property owner was great! Didn't need to bother him while we were there but he gave us recommendations prior to arriving. We are already looking forward to going back next year!

Our family loves to ski and this property was so convenient that they were able to come and go to the slopes multiple times. Loved being able to see the mountain at night.
