We’ve been coming to BHI for over 20 years, and we have stayed in many different environments including ocean front, harbor, maritime forest, golf course villas and ocean views. This cottage, and its views, is thus far our favorite! The house is well equipped for cooking for a large group, playing board games and just hanging out together. The dock was a lot of fun and late night fishing yielded a sheepshead and flounder! The kids enjoyed the kayaks too! The huge screen porch was awesome for watching the birds, especially a very friendly cardinal, and watching storms roll in. We hope to return and make more memories!

The property was perfect for three families including 5 teens. We could easily access all of the island thanks to the 2 golf carts. The creek access was an added bonus. The open kitchen is large and well equipped allowing “team” cooking and simultaneous cocktail preparation after a busy day.

What a fantastic 2 week-stay we had! Lovely house with an incredibly well-stocked kitchen, which was appreciated by the several cooks we have in the family. At one point, we had 12 people staying in the house, and all were comfortable. The only downside I would say is that the house comes with golf cart space for only 8, so if you have more than that, you need to rely on bikes - or borrow a cart from a friend down there, which is what we did. Other than that, we had access to incredible kayaking/canoeing, great beach chairs and umbrellas and towels, crabbing and fishing, wonderful creek views, and we were walking distance (.5 mile) to the Harbor and all of the shops/restaurants there. The owner was very responsive to all of our needs, and really seemed to care that we had a good and relaxing time. We would absolutely stay there again and I highly recommend it!

We had a great vacation with the family at this wonderful home. Canoed, rode bikes & just relaxed & took in the beautiful view out the back yard. We would definitely rent here again! The whole family had a terrific time. It’s a well appointed house with the need to bring very little when you come!

My wife and I have stayed all over the island and this is certainly one of our favorite spots. It's convenient for most things and having dock access to the marsh, along with kayaks and a canoe made it impossible to experience a couple of trips in them. The owner sent many helpful emails before our arrival to let us know about events happening on the island and alerting us to a possible delay with the ferry schedule on our day of arrival. We travel to BHI twice a year, and the next time we need this much space we'll look to stay here again. Thanks again for the memorable vacation!

This was our family's first visit to BHI and we loved it! A significant part of our enjoyment was directly related to this outstanding rental house. Spacious, beautiful and equipped with everything we wanted and more. The owners were attentive, responsive, and went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best it could be. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy all that BHI has to offer.

My family and I have vacationed at Bald Head Island since 2001 and we have stayed everywhere...on the beach, in the forest, and on the golf course. This home has them all beat by a mile! The home is beautifully decorated and spacious with a large kitchen, and a huge screened in porch. It is located on the creek which allows the family to fish and crab and kayak - all things that we never were able to do before. We find the location to be ideal as you are close to the harbor and not far from the market or the beach. Best of all, the owners go out of their way to make sure that your stay is perfect. This home is truly the best place to stay at Bald Head Island.

Weather: Going to Bald Head Island this early in the season had us doubting the ability to fully enjoy the beach as we love to sun bathe and the temps were only in the mid-70's. We left tan (and a little burnt) and will say it was a much better experience than sitting in 90+ degree sun. the ability to open the windows, enjoy the sea breeze, and keep the house in the low 70's was wonderful. Needless-to-say, we have a new found love for the early beach season! Home: The pictures do not do any justice to this gorgeous home. All other beach homes we have every stayed in were always decorated in a "cheesy" beach style. Not this one, it was true southern, coastal style. The kitchen is very well stocked with every utensil imaginable down to bar mixing tools. When at the house, we spent most of our time on the huge screened-in porch reading books or just enjoying the view with good conversation. The living area has plenty of comfortable seating space and even a musical keyboard for someone inclined to entertain. The second floor balcony oversees the creeks and we were fortunate to see hundreds on big, long-billed birds swirl around during the evenings for a truly breath-taking event! Other Amenities: The owners have thought of every detail, we never once said, "I wish we had this." With 3 kayaks and a canoe, it would be hard for someone to be left out of a trip on the water. The golf carts are top notch (I say that as we have experienced some not-so-good ones on the island and can go under-appreciated if one hasn't experienced it) and the 5 bikes are very well maintained. There are plenty of beach chairs, folding lawn chairs, beach umbrella, and even surf rod holders (which came in hand for me).

They say the next best thing to having a beach house is having good friends that do! Bald Head Island has been our vacation spot for 10 years. We have been extremely fortunate to stay in this wonderful house on the creek. The views are incredible, the house is beautiful inside and out and the owners are an amazing family that truly love Bald Head Island. The kitchen has everything you need and there is plenty of room in the main house and room for 4 more in the lovely crofter. You can enjoy the gas grill out on the back deck and the brand new golf carts will get you to and from the grocery store just a little bit quicker than most! When you want a slower pace during the day you can take out the new kayaks and enjoy the creek. You might just get a glimpse of a dolphin. The most memorable moments you'll have will be sitting on the screened in porch with a cup of coffee or wine looking out onto the creek-with your good friends!
