Casa de La Loma is such a relaxing, beautiful place. There is plenty of space and Ana and Freddie make everything so easy. It’s a place to truly relax and get some family time. I would recommend this home to anyone and everyone.

From making the reservation to communicating with Wendy to meeting Ana and Freddy we had an excellent experience. Originally scheduled for 2021 Wendy was very understanding for our need to reschedule to 2022 and then to 2023 - IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! When we arrived on Saturday and walked in the front door our 3 generation family of 10 had to pick our jaws off the floor as we took in the breathtaking view over the pool to the Pacific ocean. We explored the house and pool and we were not disappointed. Ana and Freddy helped to accommodate every need as we settled in and they delighted us with a delicious Grilled Steak and Shrimp dinner - YUM! Ana and Freddy take a well deserved Sunday off but had supplied plenty of food to make our own Sunday breakfast and we ate in town Sunday evening. After going over the menu on Monday we went shopping to pick up some of the groceries and Ana took care of arrangements for most of the meat. Each meal was prepared with skill, pride and care and we were so grateful and felt so pampered. Most days we hung out in the spacious gazebo, played card games and played or lounged in the pool. Wendy, thank you for your understanding as our 40th wedding anniversary celebration turned into our 41st and finally to our 42nd. Ana and Freddy, thank you for making us feel welcome, pampering us with your great cooking and care for the facility and making us feel like family. This stay certainly exceeded our expectations and we hope to return again and again.

I couldn’t believe this property lived up to all the glorious reviews, but it did! The house, pool and view were perfect and Ana and Freddy were amazing! Ana’s meals were delicious and she and Freddy wouldn’t let us lift a finger to help with dishes. She also recommended and coordinated many outings for us. The whole group felt relaxed and pampered.

The perfect vacation! The house is fantastic and very comfortably accommodated our family but the best part was Ana and Freddie. Ana’s cooking is truly fantastic - better than any meal we ate in town. We will definitely be back!

This is a fantastically remote location overlooking the ocean! We woke up each morning to the sounds of birds and monkeys. Ana & Freddy are sweet and hospitable. The view is gorgeous-we loved winding down each day in the infinity pool. Truly a magical vacation!

We originally booked our trip to this property way back in 2019 for summer 2020 and after several re-schedules just made it in the summer of 2022! It was worth the wait and then some. First, the property owner was AMAZING to work with. She was very responsive with all of our re-schedules and questions. She also was super patient when we were working with VRBO to get our final payments to post. I can't say enough good things about how easy she made the process of both booking and arriving at our first big foreign trip as a family of 8 from two different locations! When we finally got there...WOW! The pictures in the listing are incredible but can't begin to do justice to the actual place. The accommodations and amenities were perfect for our family! Everything was pristine and homey. And then there's the jewels of this stay...Ana and Freddy! Amazing! Ana's meals were superb and she made sure that everyone in our diverse party was well taken care of at mealtime! The best part, however, was how friendly and helpful they both were! Ana helped us navigate getting all the excursions we wanted to do scheduled and had some great suggestions for some we hadn't even thought of! Add to that her knowledge (and willingness to share it!) of the local flora and fauna which made our stay even more magical! I cannot recommend this stay enough! In fact, we were already telling people about it at the airport as we were, sadly, departing!

We had a wonderful stay at the villa. Anna and Freddy were fantastic with anything that was needed and we had a relaxing stay. The views are incredible and the house is the perfect layout for families or groups. We would definitely return to this home and location.

Puerto Carrillo, Casa de la Loma is a great property with an exceptional view and exceptional staff! Our host, Wendy, prepared us for the visit and promptly answered all of our questions. Ana and Freddy (staff) are truly professional!! They prepared every meal, and OH can Ana cook!!! In addition to maintaining the property and cooking, Ana knows everybody and everything going on in the area. Preparing for excursions, booking excursions and arranging transportation was taken care of instantly. Our familly, young and old, gives the total experience a 10 out of 10 rating.

There is one word for this property. It is simply magical. The view is insane. The pool is perfect and Ana and Freddy are wonderful. If you are thinking of booking it go for it! You’ll see monkeys in the backyard and the surroundings are stunning and peaceful. The house is a perfect set up for two families traveling together as it has two identical wings. Wendy, the property owner is responsive and very helpful. This is a trip we will never forget. Thank you to Wendy, Ana and Freddy. ❤️

What a wonderful vacation.....Ana & Freddy were just the perfect hosts and so attentive to our every needs. Every meal was delicious, the grounds and pool were in first class condition and the rooms were cool and immaculately clean. Ana and Freddy greeted us at the front door when we arrived the first evening (even though we were later than expected) and we ate as soon as we unpacked. The whole week's meals were discussed, with Ana's input, and we all went to bed on the first night tired, full and relaxed. Ana's English was excellent and she was so helpful with ideas on local excursions and booked whatever we required (Fishing, massage, direction to local shops and places of interest). A car is a must......the Villa sits on top of a steep hill, outside the small town of Samara, and the views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding areas are spectacular. The Infinity pool offers great picture opportunities with the Pacific Ocean and Palm trees in the background. We were fortunate enough to see Humpback Whales from the back Balcony heading down to Argentina and monkey's from the front of the house playing in the trees. We stayed for one week and loved every peaceful minute. Thank you Ana, Freddy and Ms. Wendy for a vacation that we will remember for years to come.

The property is beautiful with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. About 250 feet above the ocean there we could still hear the pounding of the wave on the rocky beach. The pool was a real treat and we all loved it. Anna and Freddie were great and their presence added to our enjoyment of the home. Fantastic sunsets every evening!

The property has spectacular views of the ocean and is well maintained with the landscaping perfectly manicured. The house is also well maintained and felt like you were in a brand new home. The best part of our stay was having Anna on staff to make us amazing meals and talk about Costa Rica. She helped us pick our excursions and gave us lots of great tips. I hope some day we can go back to visit Costa Rica and stay a few days with Anna.

We came with a group of 8 adults for 5 nights. Coordination of food and excursions are done efficiently upon arrival. Anna and Freddy (house staff) were helpful in setting up excursions and ensuring we had a comfortable stay. Communication with the property manager prior to arrival, as well as house staff while in CR, was easy. The house and grounds are very clean and well kept.

This is our second time staying here and just like before it was wonderful. Not only is the house spacious with breathtaking views and beautiful sunsets but what really made our stay great was the great level of service Freddy and Anna provided us. We will definitely be back !!!

When we booked Casa de la Loma 8 months ago it looked too good to be true. We had a pandemic to worry about and there was no way it was as good as the reviews suggested. The people of of Costa Rica made it feel safe and the house was FAR better than the reviews suggested. The house is stunning with incredible views (saw whales, monkeys and many birds almost everyday). As if that is not enough, there is Ana and Fredy to make the vacation complete. They were the loveliest people making sure our all our needs were met. Every meal (breakfast, lunch and especially dinner) was thoughtfully prepared and healthy. Ana helped us with all our activity planning and even helped with a rental car issue. My daughter had a birthday while we were there and Ana arranged for a custom cake and decorated the house for her. Can not praise them enough for making this trip unforgettable. We have never had this kind of service before and it makes such a difference in how relaxing a trip can be when you don’t worry about meals! We spent hours in the magnificent pool, eating under the gazebo and making drinks at the bar while listening to music outside and identifying birds. Do not pass this place up, it will change you!

We returned from Costa Rica one week ago and we still have the relaxing glow. We were truly able to relax because of Ana and Freddy. They made our stay so comfortable and addressed our every need. The home is beautiful as pictured and immaculate as you would expect for this lovely home. The bedrooms have A/C units with remotes so you can adjust the temperature at night. We ate well as Ana cooked the best meals. I even came back home and attempted to make her plantains. Definitely not the same. :) She has a way of making everything delicious. Ana helped with All of the details like how much food to buy at the grocery store, and scheduling our in-home COVID tests to return home. She even predicted weather for us and made recommendations on when to make our way back to the house before the rain began. We had a really early flight home last week and Ana and Freddy got up at 3 am to see us off. It was like saying goodbye to friends. By the way, if you are looking for privacy on your trip, you really have it. Ana and Freddy work the house early in the morning and only appear to make meals for you. They are not intrusive in any way. They truly learn your preferences and will exceed your expectations. It really was a glorious experience.

We couldn’t have asked for a better first visit to Costa Rica. The casa is beautiful with breathtaking views, but the real gem is Ana. She cared for us so well, cooking delicious meals (that are better than any restaurants in town), planning our activities, and handling the logistics of arriving and departing from CR. We enjoyed coffee on the porch, then hiked down to the nearby beaches most mornings. Ana arranged a fishing trip and dolphin tour with Francisco tours. Our group caught several large mahi mahi, which Ana made into ceviche, delicious grilled fillets and even a whole grilled fish. It was perfect. We also loved her seared tuna, gallo pinto, beef tenderloin, arroz con pollo and banana muffins. Truly, everything was wonderful and it was such a treat for our whole group. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Casa de la Loma is simply amazing, the pictures really don't do it justice! The views, sounds and ocean breeze are heavenly. We loved watching over the ocean from the infinity edge of the pool or the patio area. The board games were fun in the evenings and the WIFI was excellent. The beds were very comfortable and the showers were wonderful. Wendy, the property owner is very responsive and provided detailed recommendations that were very helpful. She advised us to take a shuttle to/from the airport and rent our car locally. That was great advice and worked perfectly. We rented from Alamo in Samara and they delivered the car to the house and picked it up after we departed. Wendy and Ana also recommended a local fishing guide, Francisco. Ana arranged for our half-day trip and we had a blast. Our son caught the first fish, a 70-pound sailfish! We also caught Mahi Mahi, some tuna, and various other fish. We had Mahi Mahi for dinner twice and they were delicious. Freddy and Ana made us feel like family and were a great resource for planning and learning about Costa Rica. The meals Ana and Freddy prepared were superb. Ana even taught our daughters how to make a few of the local dishes. Ana also saved dinner one night. We discovered we picked up the wrong meat at the butcher, Ana called the butcher and arranged for him ride out on his motorcycle with the meat and meet us at a nearby school to rendezvous and save the day. Ana arranged our excursions, a masseuse to come to the house, our Covid tests for return to the US, and assisted with our shuttle to/from the airport. Casa de la Loma is spectacular, but Freddy and Ana really made this trip for our family of 5 special. We look forward to returning and spending another week in this little slice of paradise.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Casa de la Loma, and would go back in a heartbeat. The house has incredible views, Ana and Freddy were awesome, and Wendy was extremely helpful and flexible when we had to reschedule around COVID. Samara is a cute little beach town, and everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. The house worked great for our 2 families (total of 8), and coming "home" after a day of activities to delicious meals and breathtaking views just took our trip to the next level. Don't think I want to travel any other way now, and we hope to return one day!

It’s was even prettier than the photos! We were all so in awe. The host was helpful in our preparations. Ana and Freddy (on-site caretakers) were also very helpful. Gorgeous property! We can’t wait to go back. Will recommended to everyone.

Top Notch! The consistency of the food and cleanliness of the home everyday was just Immeasurable. Each meal was absolutely amazing. Relaxation is the word, we barely lifted a finger to do anything. A vacation like no other. We were treated like family. There is no one like Ana and Freddy anywhere...they are a treasure. We can’t wait to return!

We had the most amazing vacation at Casa de la Loma! I travelled with my husband and 2 children (ages 8,11) for Spring Break week. Everything from the initial booking, travel planning through COVID-19, excursions, food and car rental were made seemless by the owner and house staff. Ana and Freddy made for an amazing luxury experience while at the house. Ana’s cooking is amazing and the views from the pool veranda are breathtaking. One of the best family trips ever!

Wonderful house with great caretakers

We had an amazing week at Casa de Loma. Anna and Freddie were awesome and Anna is a super good cook. The property has an amazing view and accommodations. One thing to keep in mind is that if you are renting a car, you should rent a car with a four-wheel-drive because the hill up to the property is very steep. Overall would recommend this property to two families traveling together.

Our family spent a week at Casa La Loma and it was heaven!! The views are breathtaking, the pool and terrace are welcoming and relaxing, the bedrooms are perfect. Honestly, the photos are exactly what you see when you arrive! And Ana takes the trip to the next level! Her hospitality allowed this mom an actual vacation!! We planned our menu and Ana cooked delicious foods!! We went to a few of the local restaurants for lunch, and we all agreed that Ana’s cooking far exceeded any of the restaurants where we dined. She also coordinated all our excursions, which were also amazing!! I cannot wait to come back and spend another week here!! The location of this house really is fantastic. We assumed we would have to travel around to do all the things we wanted to do, but all the activities (surfing, zip lining, ATV tour, yoga, deep sea fishing, dolphin cruise) were located within 15 minutes of us. The house is just far enough away from all the tourists to make you feel truly relaxed and rejuvenated, but close enough to enjoy all the action and activity!! Thank you for an amazing week!!!!!

The most beautiful property and area. Ana is an amazing cook and always bends over backwards to make things perfect! We saw monkeys at the front and back of the property. Carillo beach is stunning and a short ride down the hill. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will be back!

What a wonderful vacation! 8 of us (all family) just returned from this beautiful, private spot. I cannot say enough about it. From the pool (consistently between 85-88 degrees!) to the rooms to Ana and her fabulous cooking and personality. You will be treated like royalty and feel like it too! Great communication with home owner, Wendy, as well. Wonderful views of the ocean. We saw whales on about 6 different occasions. What more could you ask for?

This property is amazing! Everything about it is perfection. The house is incredible. Perfect for 2 families traveling together. Having the private pool and such an incredible view make this a dream vacation. Ana and Freddy are the icing on the cake. Ana’s cooking is amazing. We were all blown away by the dishes she prepared us. The kids wanted all her recipes! Having them there takes this vacation over the top. Thank you so much for everything!!

This vacation rental lived up to everything we read in the reviews. The home was clean and well kept with breath taking views as the pictures indicate. Wendy was great to work with and flexible to support our needs. With all that said our trip would not have been as memorable as it was without the company of Ana and Freddy. Our trip started with delayed flights which brought us into LIR well past our anticipated arrival. To our surprise Anna and Freddie we’re still there (past their normal hours) to not only greet us but Ana also waited to prepare our first meal until our arrival so it would be fresh and hot. She served beef tenderloin which was AMAZING! Ana helped to arrange numerous excursions and ensured we had not only the best excursion but we also received fair rates. Breakfast and dinners were amazing and by the end of our week Ana and Freddy had become part of the family. We will be back!
